Based on traditional chef wear, and incorporating a DIY, rascuache aesthetic, I created the 'uniforms' for Mero Cocinero Karimi, host of The Cooking Show, and his culinary comrades. Costumes were required to be functional (they had to actually cook in them), political, and 'of the people.' I was costume designer for touring episodes from 2004-2011. Pictured is a version of Mero Cocinero’s ‘uniform’ from 2007.
