another frothing inlet of the ocean on Cape Perpetua. Underneath these massive shelves of lava rock the waves would crash and make absolutely incredible booming sounds. Spouting Horn is on the other side the huge driftwood log and tide seemed high enough and the waves were crashing with amazing force but Spouting Horn was not spouting
Having uploaded this photo I can see that it is in fact crap. Walkers and riders pass this all the time and this is what they see - bushes and brambles. On closer inspection though, there are the remains of a coal mine dating back to the start of the industrial revolution.

Taken in 2005. Cook is a ghost town on the Nullarbor Plain and a passing point, and stopping point for the Indian Pacific train. This is on the world's longest section of straight track at 297 miles long

I made two soups meant to be served in tandem. Both vegan, I believe.
The asparagus soup:
Lots of asparagus, mirepoix, garlic, garlic fried in oil, rice milk, almond milk, potatoes, lots of basil, vegetable broth, salt, paprika, dry vermouth, and I'm probably leaving something out.
The Beet Tomato soup is lots of beets, cherry tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, a little cinnamon, seeded & peeled cucumber, parsley, potatoes, almond milk, rice milk, honey, mirepoix, garlic, vegetable broth, and pomegranate juice.
Some of the Knights of Columbus of Tuscaloosa, AL working on the butt cook for Labor Day 2008 - putting on the meat into the in-ground smoker.
