Found this convex mirror at a flea market and bought it for five bucks. I threw it in the back of my car, to take wherever I go. If it works out, I'm going to try a new series, showing the environment of places I visit.
Last evening was the mirror's maiden voyage.

Apparently, the intention was to allude to the prow of a ship. To me, this looks more like a sail.
Most memorable about this facade, however, is the irritating effect of reflecting the sunlight in a wide arc. When strolling along the promenade, you're ever so often blinded by an unanticipated blinding reflection. The experienced stroller will walk with the head bowed to look for the bright spots on the path.
At least the architect did not go for the concave mirror effect ...

Convex Mirrors/Reflection (Contrived)
Title: ConveXtionExplanation: Convex mirrors give virtual, upright images that appear smaller than the actual object. In this photo, the glasses are acting as dual convex mirrors, each lens giving an image. The virtual image is actually formed behind the glasses on the back side of the mirror(s), but the light rays are moving on the front side of the mirrors. Because the glasses act as convex mirrors, they have a large field of view, as is seen by the tree in the background. Indeed, I am “closer than I appear” as is often seen on car side mirrors, which are also convex. In fact, I am holding the camera only inches from the glasses. Also, even though there is only one of me, the two lenses of the glasses give one image each, making it appear, at first glance, that there are actually two people taking a picture of the glasses.

This little crab was trapped in a discarded fishing net. So we spent 10 minutes cutting him free. It would have been quicker if he hadn't kept grabbing the knife with his claws.
