Stuart Highway North, north of the Tropic of Capricorn marker. There is something spiritual in flames and smoke when something sad has happened beside the road.
I had found the poor road-killed orange Wedge-tailed Eagle youngster and was gathering up feathers from around the road when the Bush-fire Brigade truck pulled up beside me and said there was going to be a lot of smoke. I think I said I didn't mind. It was a very sad time.and it suited my mood somehow.

This was my control center after my power went out on Sunday morning. I set up my chair right in front of my window, opened it a bit to get some fresh air. You can see I have all of the necessities: a make-shift table with some Combo's on it, my battery-operated radio and headphones, and, well, the ALCOHOL!
