Kodak 2238 shot at ISO 100 and developed in H&W Control 1:15. Underexposed and overdeveloped this is the first experiment. H&W Control was invented by Harold Holden and Arnold Weichert and “perfected” to work with Agfa Copex Pan Rapid microfilm which was rebranded by H&W as a house film to work with Control developer. The purpose of the creation was to use the high contrast film for aerial reconnaissance who H&W contracted with. Here I’m trying to see how high we could reasonable run 2238 as a standard film for snapshots etc.

H&W Control’s patent states it’s normal initial use should be 1:15 dilution at 68 degrees F for 12 minutes and then expand from there. This roll was shot at ISO 100 then split. I developed the first half of the roll at 68 degrees for 13 Minutes and the second half for 14 minutes. Standard agitation is constant for the first 2 minutes and then 6 seconds every minute thereafter. Stop/washed in tap water at 68 degrees and fixed in Ilford Hypam 1:4 for 3 minutes (H&W suggests 2 minutes).

These were shot on the same 2 days, overcast with little direct sunlight. The shots are obviously underexposed. But some of them are pretty adequate with some post process. There is a tendency for the picture to go dark and appear as evening or even well lit night. However it is easy to brighten the scene.

After some thought I think the goal will be to get clear ISO 80 pictures on 2238. I will next extend the developing time in order to clear up some of the blocked parts. I may try some sodium thiocyanate something around 1 g/Liter of stock so 0.06 gram in the working solution.

Your home is your castle, and protecting it from invaders means having the best protection. When you send in the pest control cavalry to win back your home, they set up plans that are specific to your needs. They take into consideration the size of your home, the level of infestation and long-term prevention. You also have the option to do pre-treatments on new construction, perimeter treatment to keep bugs at bay and emergency services to treat hives and nests. Exterminators will continue to monitor your home, showing you the exact treatment areas and all improvement. pestscontrolservice.com/

The first cases of rabies in Bali were reported in 2008. FAO established a technical assistance project with the Government of Indonesia with the aim of supporting national efforts to control the disease on Bali. This was to be achieved by establishing an effective programme to coordinate and facilitate rabies control with government agencies and partner organizations. As a result of the programme, human rabies cases were reduced from eleven per month in 2010 to just one per month the following year. Following a mass vaccination of dogs, there was another major reduction in 2012 and 2013, bringing the number of reported cases down to only one human case in all of 2013. The model developed in Bali is now being modified as appropriate and used in other affected parts of Indonesia to progressively control and eliminate the virus from the entire country.

On the 21st Jun 1988 a ground loop and undercarriage collapse at Bronson Creek, BC, meant the end of NZ5910 as C-GYQY. The right wing dropped on landing; the undercarriage collapsed, the aircraft ground looped and ran off the runway into a ditch with a cargo of 1,600 US gal of jet fuel. Maintenance suspects that the bolts attaching the right horizontal gear support to the main wheel had failed.

Dave Helling of the Kansas City Star moderated a panel of experts discussing whether Kansas City, Missouri, should switch from a police department run by the state to one under the direct control of the mayor and city council. Former Police Commissioner Karl Zobrist, former Police Chief Jim Corwin, City Councilman Ed Ford, and Steve Glorioso, who led a campaign to change St. Louis’ police governance law, all participated in this Citizens Project conversation.

Second version of the PF powered train, controlled by an Mindstorms EV3.

In the previous version, it was not possible to access the charging plug at all. Making it impossible to recharge the battery.

In this version, this problem has been solved. The access to the charging plug is now under the easy-to-remove roof of the train.

Opened as Forton, now known as Lancaster (Forton)

Trivia:

Very distinctive from the road- features a round tower that resembles a Air Traffic Control Tower, which originally was a restaurant, currently in use as offices. The tower is called The Pennine Tower.

An employee of Forton said that the Pennine Tower closed after complaints that it looked like an UFO when lit up at night and was distracting- (Sounds like an urban myth, but its a great tale, It is more likely that the services became too busy to handle the number of visitors- can anyone shed any light on this). Also we are curious to know when it closed?

Update: Eddy Rhead writes: "The tower is closed for that modern malaise Health and Safety! Apparently you need two alternative exits in case of a fire and with just one lift and one staircase coupled with a kitchen the risk is just too high."

We should have guessed it would be health and safety....

Eddy adds: " I have always said that come the end of the world and the human race has to start again, the early travellers will come across Forton tower in the middle of Lancashire and wonder at its meaning - in Planet of the Apes type thingy. Probably! "
