Fire races across the pasture towards the pond. Moments after I took this shot I walked down the center lane to set more fire around the pond and into the distant woods.

Totally out of control when I reached Ubud, so many things to see and to buy. My husband could hardly locate me when I am inside this market. By the time he saw me, I was more than ready to let him my carry my "harvest".

I was totally exhausted ....

Heather Phillipson

Heather Phillipson engulfs Tate Britain’s grand central galleries with colour, sound and motion

In her words, she is proposing the spaces as a sequence of ‘charged ecosystems, maladaptive seasons and unearthed lifeforms’.

She reimagines the galleries as alive, and happening in a parallel time-zone. Mutant creatures, built from technological remains, populate the space.

Described by Phillipson as a ‘pre-post-historic environment’, the work and its title evoke an abundance of sensations and associations that resist coherence. The artist says she is attempting to ‘cultivate strangeness, and its potential to generate ecstatic experience’.

Phillipson’s work often involves collisions of wildly different imagery, materials and media.

Through multiple, unexpected combinations, she conjures absurd and complex systems. Here, salvaged machines, colossal papier-mâché sculptures and hand-painted scenes are layered with digital video and sound. Mountains of salt, bisected aircraft fuel tanks, mobile gas canisters, rotating anchors and shapeshifting roof vents are doused with tinted light. Everything is remixed and redeployed.

Phillipson’s multimedia projects include video, sculpture, installation, music, poetry and digital media. She describes her works as ‘quantum thought experiments’. They often carry an underlying sense of threat – a suggestion that, in the artist’s words, ‘received ideas, images and the systems that underpin them may be on the verge of collapse’.

Tear outs from my notebook I kept last spring. Dedicated to my food journal and the emotions I felt everyday. I tracked myself, my every move and every meal. Counted, calculated, added, burned, totaled. It's horrible. It's never good enough. My view of good and bad was totally thrown off. 750 calories suddenly became success and 1200 was too much. It was so distorted. I needed to see the number of burned calories on the treadmill everyday and make it higher than calories consumed. Unable to maintain this goal, I felt like a failure everyday. Why did I do this to myself. I had control over my feelings and yet I set impossible expectations for myself to meet. Set myself up for failure. Then when I can't do it, I am just reaffirming what I already think of myself.

Bed bugs are a big problem around the world. They multiply quickly and can be transferred from one place to the other in cloths and belonging of guests. They are particularly common in hotels and other places such as trains and buses. Bed bugs can then easily hitch a ride on your clothes and reach your home. From there they can multiply quickly. Therefore, bed bugs control should be started at an early stage when the problem first surfaces. Black Horse Pest Control provides bed bugs control services in Dubai and UAE.

Control is Jesse Faden’s story. The main plot focuses on her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Side-quests and Secrets are everywhere. Jesse works with other Bureau agents, decodes cryptic ciphers and discovers strange Bureau experiments.

This is the Master Control Room for WBRE in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The Master Control Room for WYOU is to the right of the photo. This is the most important room in the building as it's where all the programming and commercials are ran from. This room is manned 24/7/365 by two people.

Airfield Control Vehicle

This vehicle offers uninterrupted all-round vision and all the usual facilities expected of a normal ATC tower.

The Museum vehicle is based on a Bantam Karrier truck,

It operated with the RAF in Malta and was presented to the Museum in 2012 by the Maltese aviation authorities.

This vehicle is currently awaiting restoration?

Living in Tokyo I sometimes feel like my life is controlled by arrows. There is always guides to tell you which way you should be going…

Read about that day and the ones that followed on ShootTokyo:

Norfolk Southern employees keep the fleet humming from “The Cage” in the locomotive control center in Atlanta.

Now that I finally have a whole month do give myself a head start with my portfolio I find myself getting sidetracked and lost in the fascinating world of the World Wide Web. So this is my attempt at exercising some control and keeping track of what I've done each day. It even has a "daily score", and if I add up enough hard work by the end of it, I shall treat myself! Clever, uh? ;)

I wish a portion of the walkway were clear,. Like Battelle Hall in the Greater Columbus Convention Center, this walk way can change colors at night! I want to host a fundraising reception on the walkway, but it is not currently available for private events.

I developed this panel for my JR-East N gauge project, Tohoku City high level station, which is also served by city trams at ground level. The panel handes platform line select, station approach point control, and signalling. You can see that the Shinkansen tracks are separated from the local commuter lines. The panel front is clear 4mm perspex/acrylic painted on the reverse side.

Controlled Chaos

In chaos theory, control of chaos is based on the fact that any chaotic attractor contains an infinite number of unstable periodic orbits. Chaotic dynamics then consists of a motion where the system state moves in the neighborhood of one of these orbits for a while, then falls close to a different unstable periodic orbit where it remains for a limited time, and so forth. This results in a complicated and unpredictable wandering over longer periods of time.
