There has been a shrine at this location since Fatimid times, but tangible architectural documentation does not appear until the 1549, when a series of builders, beginning with Semiz Ali Pasha (in 1549) contributed to it. The current mosque was enlarged in 1942, the 1990s & 2022.
The cenotaph is protected by a magnificent silver screen provided by the Dawoodi Bohras, from the Shiʿa Ismaʿili Mustaʿli Tayyibi branch of Islam who adhere to the faith of the Fatimid Imam-caliphs.
Zaynab bint 'Ali c.626-c.682, the eldest daughter of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib & Fatima bint Muhammad, sister of Husayn. She was with him at the battle of Karbala. The Prophet Muhammad was her maternal grandfather, and thus she is a member of his Ahl al-Bayt (People of the House, the holy family of the Prophet Muhammad). She married ‘Abdullah ibn Ja‘far. Some historians consider that Sayyida Zainab was exiled to Egypt in c.679, and that she was buried at this site. However, many people, primarily Twelver Shias, believe that Sayyida Zainab was buried in Damascus, Syria (see www.flickr.com/photos/gballardice/5081543467 & ff.).
Along with Sayyidas Nafisa & Ruqayya, Zaynab bint 'Ali are traditionally considered the patron saints of Cairo.
Patron: Tewfik Pasha (Muḥammad 'Ali Tawfīq Bāshā) 1852-1892, eldest son of Khedive Ismail, Khedive (Ottoman viceroy) of Egypt & Sudan (r.1879-1892).
Semiz Ali Pasha (Semiz, fat in Turkish) was an Ottoman Serb statesman from the Sanjak of Bosnia who served as Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire (r.1561-1565), beylerbey (governor) of Egypt Eyalet (r.1549-1553).

The Stockyards Bank was constructed in the early 1900s by the Armour and Swift Companies. Constructed in the Mission Style, the two-story building features a stucco masonry surface; arched openings on the ground floor; a red tile roof; eaves with exposed rafters that extend well beyond the walls; and center and corner balconies topped with curvilinear parapets. The bank closed, and in the mid 1970s the building was occupied by a western wear retailer. The building is located in the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing property. After raising over 76,700 pennies to contribute $767.41 for Audubon's Pennies for the Planet campaign, over 400 students and teachers at Columbia Elementary School were treated to an Audubon BioBash party on Thursday, June 10th!
Columbia raised more money than any school in the nation this year (by Audubon's April 30th deadline). In return, Billy B, "The Natural Science Song and Dance Man," led the school in an engaging performance of environmental fun and learning.
The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, and Head of ATMIS, Ambassador Mohamed El-Amine Souef, meets with ambassadors and diplomats from the ATMIS troop-contributing countries of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, and Uganda, accredited to Somalia.
During the meeting held at the ATMIS mission headquarters in Mogadishu on 17 July, 2023, the officials discussed the progress in implementing the ATMIS mandate and the proposed draft terms of reference for the upcoming Joint Technical Assessment.
The envoys included the Ethiopian ambassador to Somalia, Mukhtar Mohamed, the Djiboutian Defence Attaché to Somalia, Col. Hassan Yusuf, the Kenyan ambassador to Somalia Maj Gen. (Rtd) Thomas Chepkuto, and Uganda's deputy ambassador to Somalia, Maj. Gen (Rtd) Nathan Mugisha.

CEA Project Logistics commitment to CSR related activities in community continued last week as a team from CEA head office in Laem Chabang joined forces with over 100 local volunteers and community leaders from Ao Udom.
The mission primarily was to improve the habitat for the local fish, artificial ‘Fish Houses’ were assembled by the volunteers, these would be taken out to sea with the purpose of increasing the breeding potential of the fish in turn creating more fish for the local fisherman to catch and increase their incomes. The fish houses would also protect the smaller fish from their natural larger predators.
When all the fish houses were placed in the sea, the second part of the mission began, this involved cleaning the surrounding beach area from rubbish and overgrowth to create a more aesthetic place to sit, relax and fish for tourists and locals alike.

Mineral Point, Wisconsin is a quaint little town located in southern Iowa County between Dodgeville and Darlington. Founded as a mining community that attracted Cornish immigrants in the 1830s, it is one of the state's oldest villages. Mineral Point today has one of the best preserved historic commercial districts in southwestern Wisconsin, featuring dozens of charming mid- to late-19th-century storefronts on High Street.
