CEA Project Logistics commitment to CSR related activities in community continued last week as a team from CEA head office in Laem Chabang joined forces with over 100 local volunteers and community leaders from Ao Udom.
The mission primarily was to improve the habitat for the local fish, artificial ‘Fish Houses’ were assembled by the volunteers, these would be taken out to sea with the purpose of increasing the breeding potential of the fish in turn creating more fish for the local fisherman to catch and increase their incomes. The fish houses would also protect the smaller fish from their natural larger predators.
When all the fish houses were placed in the sea, the second part of the mission began, this involved cleaning the surrounding beach area from rubbish and overgrowth to create a more aesthetic place to sit, relax and fish for tourists and locals alike.
Built in 1861, this structure is a contributing property to the Mineral Point Historic District (listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971).
Mineral Point, Wisconsin is a quaint little town located in southern Iowa County between Dodgeville and Darlington. Founded as a mining community that attracted Cornish immigrants in the 1830s, it is one of the state's oldest villages. Mineral Point today has one of the best preserved historic commercial districts in southwestern Wisconsin, featuring dozens of charming mid- to late-19th-century storefronts on High Street.

Pacific Women aims to develop and deliver evidence-based activities that contribute to the advancement of gender equality in the region. To do this strategically, Pacific Women undertakes targeted activities that help to define the direction of the program, called ‘direction-setting activities’. These include planning, evaluation and research activities that inform program activities supported by Pacific Women.
Direction-setting activities include Country Plan review activities. Country Plans are the mechanism through which Pacific Women activities are planned and agreed between DFAT and counterpart governments. Country Plans are developed to cover a three to four-year period and are informed by extensive national consultations. They provide detail on activities to be funded and how funding decisions are made. Country Plan Summaries can be downloaded from the Pacific Women website.
Teams from the Support Unit and Australian High Commission Posts engage with Pacific governments and stakeholders to review these plans. Country Plan reviews measure progress towards Pacific Women’s outcomes and identify barriers to implementing activities and changes in country context. The reviews include recommendations for future directions.
In February 2018, country plan review activities took place in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI).

The Chaddock-Terry Company has had a factory in Farmville since the early 1900s. The factory was built in an industrial section with other large, multi-story brick buildings. The Chaddock-Terry Company building has capped gabled ends and corbeled brick detailing. The company ceased operations in Farmville in the early 2000s, and later declared bankruptcy. The building was renovated to house retail shops and businesses. The building is located in the Farmville Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing structure.
Note: In the early 2020s, the Chaddock-Terry Company came out of bankruptcy and a new Craddock-Terry factory opened in Farmville to resume making military shoes.

We can certainly use all as many volunteers as possible of all ages and abilities and we look forward to the possibility of working with you! We are all aware of the importance the health of the Chesapeake Bay hold to all Maryland Residents. Please help clean up the historic shoreline of Bear Creek and Chalesmont Park where both the British and American set up defensive positions during the War of 1812, Battle of North Point. The British also used this location to evacuate their wounded and POW’s. Charlesmont Park was also the location were the Veterans of the War of 1812 celebrated Defender’s Day for over 75 years!
We will also be cleaning up the trash around Bear Creek Elementary, General John Stricker Middle and Charlesmont Elementary Schools!
This event will be run in conjunction with American Rivers, Trash Free Maryland, National Public Lands Day and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as part of annual Project Clean Stream Event.
Please join us on April 22, 2017 as we cleanup this historic shoreline. Registration will be located at the intersection of Park Haven and Gray Haven Road (Near Bear Creek Elementary School), Dundalk, MD 21222. Looks for the registration tents and the “Clean Bread and Cheese Creek Banners. Registration will open at 8:00 am, and the cleanup will run from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. We have also included a flyer for this cleanup for your use.
We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them
Volunteers are also needed to arrive early and stay late for setup and break down. Photographers and Videographers also needed!
