I am always drawn to contrasting colors. Red and white, blue and white, black and white, dark blue and light blue, etc. I just love the distinction of each color being showcased. Ric repainted our mailbox this summer to his college colors of Crimson and Gray. Well, the crimson has made it on the box but the gray is out there somewhere waiting to be artfully applied.
In the meantime, I will enjoy the crimson box with white letters.

Texas Wildflower - Indian Blanket - Gaillardia pulchella
These flowers are also called firewheels or gaillardia.
You can find them across much of the state along
roadsides. Its brilliant colors of red, orange and
yellow look like brightly woven blankets. Indian
Blankets can cover large fields with their showy
flowers. Indian blankets live in sandy soil and are
withstand the Texas summer heat and drought.
Plants grow one to two and a half feet tall.
Blooms April through July.
This flower is part of the sunflower family.

a delightful fresh baby sized papaya from my moms garden against the a brilliant blue exam pad of my lil fellow and both getting a dose of sharp march sunlight from the kitchen window :-)
Here you see a colour addict* on the left (me) and Agent F aka Frank the pug (MIB) – it's not my dog – I met him at an event.
* Most of the time I dress myself in black but sometimes I need a colour explosion.
