Continuing Rarity at Heron's Head Park, San Francisco.

It was an awesome morning as the photo opportunities started about 1 hour before sunrise and continued for a half hour after.

Another winter view of the Art Deco styled Mary Jeanette Murray Bath House along Nantasket Beach in Hull, MA. Built in 1930, it was renovated in 1997 and continues to serve the public during the summer months.

The Greeble Family are continuing their lives as 'humans' and have designed and built a car to fit in with rush hour traffic as they are fascinated with the idea. Although they do their best at mimicking us humans, they still haven't grasped the concept of wheels and tires and continue to have a family vehicle that flies. Tomorrow will be the final post of this mini series, I wonder what kind of home the Greebles have built for themselves...? 🏡

And the archiving of my work continues. Now I am getting all of the drawings (well over a hundred), from Noёl Riley Fitch and my book “Paris Café: The Sélect Crowd,” labelled and in order. They were done in sketchbooks between 1995 and 2007. My sketchbooks are dated and numbered. Luckily, I put the sketchbook number on the back of the drawings. They had been cut out. So, it was very easy to find the year each drawing was done. Still more to do…..

We had a rare snow day yesterday (2/12), thought it may continue but it ended by the night ended. I wanted to take more pictures but I got chickened out by the temp and 2 out of control dogs with too much excitement! Stayed out only 20 minutes max...

Continuing on from the calm conditions of the previous image, this is literally a couple of hundred yards away in the opposite direction. This is why this area is so popular with photographers, a fresh image every few steps.

Which table tennis table should it be?

Spoilt for choice

Seen in Cologne

Continuing female at this location, although it seems to be reported much less frequently than the male that is also here. Very small oriole! It seemed to be the same size as a House Sparrow that it perched right next to!

Arden Drive, Encinitas, CA.

Continuing my series of birds in black and white in the urban environment, here's a swainson's hawk perched on an electrical pole

Continuing to my Sun Magic series...

It feels good to start the day with golden sunrise magic :-)

Tears continue to fall as I think of you... oh, how I wish you could magically reappear... my precious boy! How did it all happen so fast and when do we finally meet one another, again?

I am continuing working on getting some decent images of Mountain Bluebird inflight. I learned a lot more about the challenges today and got a few that I will share but I am still not there yet. It was a lot of fun doing it though.

inside there is no escape until it is unleashed.

Continuing the theme of memories of The Great Marquess, here is one of my earlier pics of 61994 with the Great Britain VI, climbing across Rannoch Moor to Corrour Summit, taking the West Highland portion of the train south from Fort William in April 2013

Continuing to fill in photos from last spring (before I head back next week!) here's another shot from this fabulous morning southbound chase, one of the tops of the trip for sure. Canadian National train U713 has a trainload of pellets fresh from the Minntac taconite plant headed south to Proctor Yard. The sizzling train is has the same tunnel motor trio from the prior day hustling along with with fan favorite rebuilt SD40-3 BLE 909 (originally built as an SD45T-2 in Feb. 1973 as SSW 9277) leading the way. They are seen here approaching the Swan Lake Road crossing at MP 32.4 on modern day CN's North Division Missabe Sub mainline.

This is an area that needs no introduction to even the most casual fan as the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway is in a word legendary. I won't bore you with pages of history as I couldn't do the road or region justice anyway. It simply needs to be experienced for oneself. But I will direct you to two resources. Absolutely check out the fabulous historical information here: www.missabe.com/

Les cabines de plage du Touquet

She continues to "soldier on." After her cancer diagnosis was compounded by her diabetes, she started to go downhill rapidly, however, since I've regulated her insulin and radically changed her diet, she has rallied. I didn't think she would make it to her 12th birthday, and now we are just one month away from her 13th. She has been blind for almost a year now, but she has adjusted and compensated. My extraordinary cat, Batman, "shoulders" her away from furniture I accidentally don't return into place. He stepped into the caretaker and sleeping partner role after TinkerBell left home.

Continue to last series of "Night & Light Series 20 -dynamic & blur view at the street", which aim to capture the respective atmosphere & beauty of dynamic light at night .

Continuing my series of shots from the Open House London 2012 weekend. This was taken from the roof terrace of One New Change, a major office and retail development in the City of London. Some deliberate underexposing and filter use was required here as the sky was quite bright.

The Green Album and I also had the opportunity to link up with Flickr buddy, Daniel Borg. Whilst we waited in hope for a a sunset that did not happen it was a good opportunity to have a chat and we followed with a couple of beers. A great evening had by all - great to meet you Dan!

Have a great weekend everyone!

On 3 July 1997, the intercity from Amsterdam to Brussels was diverted via Breukelen and Woerden, due to a collision between a person and a freight train near Leiden. Control car 107 with the pushing 1188 are on their way to Rotterdam Central at Moordrecht, where they will continue their way via the normal route.

Thanks to everyone who takes time to view, fave or comment on my pictures.

A subset of the Seen Series devoted to George Floyd. All scenes are from Portland's Peninsula Park, the site of the city's first organized vigil gathering for George Floyd on Friday May 29, 2020.

These iPhone photos were made the next day as people continued to show their respect and express their sorrow, anger and grief.

Seen. A series of iPhone scenes from daily walks around Portland neighborhoods with the dogs.

We'll all have to think of ways to pass the time and keep us going, now we're in lock down. Hopefully we'll be able to continue with short walks - this view is from a spot about 15 minutes walk from my house, looking across Padfield and Tintwistle to the hills beyond.

Stay safe!

PS - spot the plane!

Continuing on the Sunrise/Sunset series, here we see another sunset as the choppy waves of Mercury Passage wash onto a rocky beach near Point Leseur, Maria Island. The Tasmanian Mainland can be seen in the distance.

Yes, continue the last post in yesterday that I promised; he finished to ate and walked down from the high fence!

I wait him until he walked on the ground--appreciate his meditation walk:)))

Thank you to interesting any nature:)

Continuing with my theme of shots grabbed from the side of the road while on the way to or on the way back from something to do with work !

This is five different exposures blended in PS, the tripod moved on the soft earth while I was taking them, I had to do a bit of extra work to sort it out...

Continuing on my recent theme, here's another one from the Jersey Shore. This one was taken on the boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J.

Here's my Happy Fall Fence Friday

Quebec Trip continued

Continuing "Car Week" - Seen five years ago, parked on the street here in Vancouver.

Prairie Light, continued. I was driving up Butte Road before dawn and had to stop near my favourite tree. A crescent moon and Venus hung in the sky above; in the distance lay silhouetted 70 Mile Butte (behind the tree) and the small bump of the Sleeping Lion (to the right).

I had to get across an irrigation ditch in the dark. Dry in October, so no problem. The brittle grass was knee-high. There was no wind. I carried my tripod with a single lens, the 14-24mm, and walked along a dyke until it felt right. A robin watched me approach, and didn't fly away. The silence was exquisite, as if the world were holding its breath. And then the moment passed.

Shooting at dawn is so different from shooting at sunset: we watch the light grow, not fade away.

Have a great Sunday! Took this shot at Key West, Florida. Push "L" to see the large one.

Continuing with the 2022 AAPRCO excursion photos, here we see the train on the FEC K Branch crossing the 1920s St. Lucie Canal lift bridge. After arriving at Marcy (diamond where the CSX Auburndale Sub crosses the K Branch), USSC 148 ran around the train and was paired up with EMD GP11 #308 for the trek back to Clewiston.

SN/NC: Neomarica Gracilis, Iridaceae Family

Syn: Marica Caerulea, Cypella Caerulea, Galathea Speciosa, Trimezia Caerulea, Neomarica Northiana

One of the most beautiful blooms of spring comes from an unusual member of the Iris family — the walking iris (Neomarica gracilis). Neomarica is a clumping perennial that reaches anywhere from 18 to 36 inches (45-90 cm.). And once you see its flowers, you will appreciate another of its common names—the poor man’s orchid (not to be confused with the Schizanthus poor man’s orchid). This exotic-looking plant with its graceful sword-like foliage has white, yellow or blue flowers that resemble a cross between those of an orchid and an iris. Although they are short lived, lasting only a day, numerous blooms continue to follow over an extended period of time throughout spring, summer and fall. Growing walking iris plants is a great way to enjoy these interesting flowers.

I am continuing to explore Pentacon Auto 50mm f/1.8 MC. I took this picture while on the morning walk today. A lot of Bird of Paradise flowers blooming right now. I love to take some off the beaten path images of them like the previous picture I posted, but this one is more of a regular image. With years of exploring and learning the art of capturing nature up close, I am more and more leaning into not so sharp dreamy pictures that are more like little paintings. Which image of these two did you like the best?

Continuing our four year-strong tradition of sunset fall shoots in Stowe, Vermont - we're never stopping. This is one of our favourite photos from this year/maybe ever? It also happens to be from our last ever roll of Kodak Portra 400VC, which was discontinued like three years ago, but we've been hoarding it. Seems like the perfect send off for our all-time favourite film.

We're also offering this photo and three others from the same day as 8x8 prints on etsy, if you're into that sort of thing.

Imagine all things done, and all things to be done... Just draw a line in your mind.

...had a late birthday dinner with my sister and her family last week...

Trying to make my birthday stretch as far as it will go!

Siena cornering quickly to continue chasing her sister.

Continuing with my special flickr food channel edition, this hispid cotton rat devours a leaf.

Hispid cotton rats are omnivorous, but the major portion of their diet consists of green vegetation. They occasionally consume insects and other small animals. Field observations of hispid cotton rat diet indicate that preferred foods are the stems, foliage, and seeds of crop and wild plants.
