This angle on the assembly building provides a good view of the whole area. The blast berm and wall are on the left. The load in and out area is behind the bush and the hardened building itself is next to that.
The black pile behind the building and water tower was not part of the base when it was active. It is a gigantic radioactive tailing and debris containment pyramid.
I've added notes to the frame indicating the locations mentioned above.

Some atomic containment...using a bit of lens capping, zoom pulling and rotation of the ipad.
Sooc apart from watermark.
This shadowbox is one of the smaller "Hangars" in Area51. Originally I had several Superheroes interned here, but the recent arrival of Mr. Incredible and Syndrom in the Disney Series minifigs inspired me to rework it to reflect the actual movie scene.
With Corona containment measures and mandatory social distancing, I have the sad feeling of living behind a barrier. Freedom is next door and we can't enjoy it any longer.

It was great to get out in the rain and spray with fellow photographer Peter Hill after some heavy rains had recently filled the waterfalls...

I watched some old school Iron man cartoons today. I am Iron ma-an! ;) I liked the way Crimson Dynamo was represented, so though I'd have a go at making one.
Just clearing the Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria. "Strait Sentinel" is one of the many vessels positioned in coastal waters for pollution prevention in case of an oil spill. "Strait Sentinel" is equipped with a 2,500 ft Kepner self-inflating offshore containment boom.

From tonight's Lime Kiln visit with Tim and Leon in Derbyshire. Shot in one photographic exposure with a lens swap, an LED Lenser X21R2 torch and a home made RGB gadget for lighting the walls. Thanks for the help with this one chaps!
The original photo was a a piece of playground equipment that our grandkids really like. Photoleap was used to turn it into a moon-containment device.
I got a couple older parts in new condition from some recent Bricklink orders and of course I'm going to use them to make DC figs.
Left to right:
Atrocitus: New armor piece, coupled with a different head for fun.
Lashina: New (official) hair piece, plus a couple other modifications from my previous version.
Doomsday (Containment Suit): New armor piece, and an entirely new fig! The strap on the leg is edited from dark blue.
A child portrait who asked for it in the old medina.

The earth is going through a hard time now where a virus touch almost the whole world. The majority of countries are under lockdown, and stick everyone in their home.
I will take advantage of this quarantine and try to share every day a picture with you throughout this period where we could discuss different subjects…
Inchaelah everything will be alright as soon as possible.

Somewhere on a desolate planet, a one man operated biosphere processing facility looms over the alien wasteland. A threshold separates the two worlds, but which one is contained?

Camera toss
red and blue Christmas decorations
This is one of the few camera toss shots that I set up to get a particular effect. The intent was to give the impression that the red was encasing the blue.

The third in a set of lens comparisons, this time using the Voigtlander Petzval lens on 5x7. The distinct "Petzval swirl" is clearly in evidence here. Out of focus areas are also quite distinct in their softness.
I haven't used my Minolta Autocord in ages, so yesterday I got it out and loaded some Bergger Pancro 400 in it, with the idea that I would (finally!) mix up some BER49 developer to try out. Apparently this developer is designed to get the most out of the Pancro 400 in terms of both tonal richness and finest grain. I can definitely say that the BER49 is a much better match for the Pancro 400 than the Rodinal I was using most of the time. This is a vastly superior result, IMO.
1/125th at f8. BER49 1:1 for 16 minutes at 75F (recommended)
This is a metaphor for Persistence In A Vaccuum, a theme about social isolation.
2019 – the year the story of Akira takes place. To honour this “grandfather” of mangas and animes, the one film that in the USA and in Europe drew the attention to Japanese comic culture, which was – until then (1988) – derided as simple entertainment for children, I decided to build a new Akira MOC.
This one differs a bit from the anime, which is also a bit different from the manga. I did this to match my former Akira MOC or more specifically, the custom Tetsuo minifigure. In this scene, Tetsuo tries to find Akira’s containment unit and gets attacked.
Dedicated to Denis Franke. I hope you are well, wherever you are.

For many years, civilization continually fought for survival, as many ran into large clearly visible objects standing in front of them. Death and injury threatened to wipe out the species. But, then, someone invented the traffic cone and humanity was saved, and now flourishes.
