View of ships on the Port of Singapore from the cable cars on Sentosa Island. Two container ships were close enough to identify - the Spirit of Bangkok (Rickmers Group) and CMA CGM Chopin. I had an opportunity to hang with a Ross student group on their day at Sentosa Island. This is a group that is taking a class at SMU along with placement in an internship as part of the Ross Global Initiatives program at the University of Michigan). These pictures are from the S.E.A. Aquarium at Sentosa Island. I am in Singapore for the ABLD-EBSLG-APBSLG Joint Meeting in Singapore from May 16-19, 2016. The Conference was hosted by Li Ka Shing Library, Singapore Management University.

Another view of my container garden. I've managed to keep plants in a pot alive for over a year! This pot of succulents started with five varieties, and I now only have three, but that's ok because they are all thriving. I am pleased.
"Mini-Europe is a miniature park located in Bruparck, at the foot of the Atomium, in Brussels, Belgium. Mini-Europe has reproductions of monuments in the European Union and other countries within the continent of Europe on display, at a scale of 1:25. Roughly 80 cities and 350 buildings are represented.
The park contains live action models such as trains, mills, an erupting Mount Vesuvius, and cable cars. A guide gives the details on all the monuments. At the end of the visit, the Spirit of Europe exhibition gives an interactive overview of the European Union in the form of multimedia games.
The park is built on an area of 24,000 m2 (300,000 sq ft). The initial investment was of €10 million in 1989, on its inauguration by then-Prince Philip of Belgium."

This large Container ship, Asklipios, sails under the Liberian Flag from its home port in Monrovia, Liberia. The vessel was built in 2011 and has a deadweight capacity of 118,814 tons and measures an impressive 1,147 feet in length, nearly a football field longer than the Aircraft Carrier Yorktown in its backdrop.
It is heading under the Arthur Ravenel Bridge to the Port of Charleston to offload cargo. From there it headed to Norfolk, VA and arrived mid-morning the following day.

GeoKs have been diligently participating in the #31in31 challenge. Mr. GeoK helped out a couple of days to keep our streak alive and K joined me for a short walk to find a cache one day on the weekend. This plastic jar is the most colourful cache container we've found all month. GC3KCQB Pop - CCARS12 was hidden for a semi-annual cache hide/find event that is one of the best things about the Calgary area geocaching community. It hadn't been found since May, so I was a little concerned about whether it was still in place when I headed out to look for it - especially since it's a regular sized cache. And it took a fair bit of searching before I spotted a glimpse of something other than green in the waist-high grass. Bonus? The cache contained a very colourful trackable tag attached to a pathtag - so I got to log them both!
This photo was taken with the key line filter turned on, as I wanted the decorating job on the container to "pop" a little against the background of the long grass.
