A cut of containers is part of the consist of a train taking the High Wye in Durand, Michigan, that connects the Flint and Holly subdivisions. The train is crossing Ann Arbor Street.
Finished up the crane tonight and threw down a piece of track on my bench to show how it would be used to lift the containers out of the train cars and onto trucks ... or off the trucks and onto the train.

Storage boxes that my daughter and I created using very inexpensive plastic containers, some fabric, a little thought, and some ribbon! :) They work great and look even better!
approaching container house from the north. a real contrast to the assortment of post-50's timber houses nearby. nestled in - or more like, cut in to the sheer rock bank, the container house thrives in a challenging location. less than 1km from wellington's southern coast, the south wind shrieks up the valley. for those of you living in the northern hemisphere, down here the southerly is the one that travels direct from Antarctica to freeze the marrow in your bones, rather than the comfortable warm breeze you enjoy on a hot summer's day.

Proper forestry containers have many advantages over polybags. They train roots to grow straight and encourage air pruning and development of a good root plug. Growers can grow the same sized tree in a smaller container with better root development and higher survival and more rapid growth in the field. Here, three different containers are shown that wold be appropriate sized for each tree. Because containers are usually smaller than polybags, adjustments need to be made in the nursery to watering schedules and overall time to grow out the seedlings. All containers shown were purchased from Stuewe and Sons, www.stuewe.com.

This week's Nomad theme is 'container'. Here's one from the archive. This picture of very neat architectural boxes (people containers) was taken in Rotterdam two years ago.
