Juan Carlos Pinilla, an administrative official for Divia Cepeda Rojas, the Consulate of Colombia in Newark, New Jersey, visited Dr. Antonia Pantoja School No. 27 to speak to the school’s bilingual and ESL students in grades six through eight as well as students from Elizabeth Public Schools’ Spanish bilingual magnet program located at Victor Mravlag School No. 21. A selected group from the School No. 27 chorus sang The Star Spangled Banner as well as the Columbian National Anthem, Oh Gloria Inmarcesible.

Continuing a two-year relationship with Chicago youth non-profit UCAN, staff members from the British Consulate-General met with five UCAN interns last week.

The DePaul Department of Modern Languages sponsored a discussion of Franco-German relations January 28, 2011, cosponsored by the Consulates of France and Germany and International Programs. Speakers were Graham Paul, Consul General of France, and Onno Hückmann, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, along with moderator J.D. Bindenagel. This event was held at the DePaul Lincoln Park Campus.
