This was taken over Burrill Lakes on the New South Wales south coast. We stumbled across this location accidentally when looking for a nice sunrise location for the next morning. This is my first attempt at a panorama shot. I hope you like it!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my photos, it's always great to receive nice comments but also very important for me to take onboard any constructive critique. Photography is a lifelong learning curve! I always appreciate and respect your feedback!

Thanks for looking...

Jet lagged, I woke up early, and started an hike before sunrise up the mountain from my hometown Schuders, located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. I reached the top of the mountain ridge shortly after sunrise.

I processed a realistic, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Macro Mondays, Redux 2022, need to find a photo to one of the themes of 2022. The list of all themes and some more statistics can be found here , www.flickr.com/groups/macromonday/discuss/72157721915254700/

Since there is so much to choose, sharp, Monday 19th September seems to be an obvious choice. I am sure the Hornhauthobel or callus scraper is able to remove something.

Curves, Monday 11th of November seems to 9

Not to forget Reflections, as on Monday 4th. The white as you see it, is mostly the reflection of the soft box on the highly reflective surface

So, and since it’s quite hard to estimate the size, the removable scrapper part is in total approx. 6 x 3 cm. But on display are approx. 2.5 x 1.25 cm.

That doesn’t make sense to estimate 0.5 mm says my engineering mind, but that’s when you split 1 mm.

Other than this, single monolight with a large softbox with an inner and outer white cover to soften the light.

Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.

After visiting San Francisco's Asian Art Museum we headed to the Crissy Field for sunset. A gorgeous scene opened up when the sun went behind the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge.

With the extended family we went sledding at Lenzerheide in the Swiss Alps. Next to the gondola that took us up the mountain is a frozen lake.

In October 2022 we did a 2000 miles road trip from California to Utah and back: destination badlands near Hanksville. We stayed overnight at the Moonscape Overlook. At night it was raining, at times quite heavily. Next morning we were greeted with these angry clouds and muddy moonscape.

I processed a balanced, a paintery and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the curves and color balance. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

During a week-long car tour of Transylvania, Romania in May, we visited Salina Turda, the historic Turda Salt Mine that operated from the 13th century until 1932 before reopening as a tourist attraction in 1992. At its deepest level, 26 floors underground, lies a subterranean lake. It was a wonderful experience to row across this dimly lit lake. I captured this image using a fisheye lens and combined two exposures to achieve an even more expansive perspective.

I processed a realistic and a balanced HDR photo from a two RAW exposure, stacked and blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Earlier this year we drove to the Death Valley in California, with destination Racetrack Playa. This dry lakebed is very remote. To reach it, you drive almost two hours on a terrible dirt road. It's worth while though. The playa is located at 3800 feet (1100 m) elevation, and is surrounded by mountains. There is no outlet, water only flows in. The playa has rocks with mysterious tracks, or skid marks.

The phenomenon of moving rocks was explained in 2014 by UC San Diego. In winter when it rains, the playa is covered my water, thus turns into a very shallow lake wth muddy ground. The top of the water freezes at night. The ice melts selectively, building big sheets of ice. Those sheets drift with the wind. Rocks that fell on the playa are trapped in the thin ice layer, and have nowhere to go but to move with the big sheet of ice. The ground is muddy and slippery, which causes the trail left by the rock that is trapped and pushed by the ice. See my video with explanation: bit.ly/3xoRnEg. See also the explanation by the National Park Service: bit.ly/3eC005Q

We headed to Chur, a regional capital in the Swiss Alps. We met our niece at the local art museum for a coffee. Her little daughter was quite fascinated by the interior. Like mom, she is an artists too. Learning happens with an open and curious mind of a child, also for us grownups.

I processed a smooth, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from two JPG exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

A cute little guy...

All constructive comments are appreciated. TIA

A tiny owl with a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is practically bursting with attitude. Where mice and other small mammals are concerned this fierce, silent owl is anything but cute. One of the most common owls in forests across northern North America (and across the U.S. in winter), saw-whets are highly nocturnal and seldom seen. Their high-pitched too-too-too call is a common evening sound in evergreen mountain forests from January through May. (Cornell).

I took a day off, and did a road trip in the Swiss Alps and nearby Südtirol in Italy. On the way after passing over the Flüelapass I stopped at the small town of Susch in the Engadin valley. The restaurant of the Muzeum Susch is built in the traditional Engadin style.
