I don't usually do much mono landscapes but the light was so strong that it seemed an obvious choice for this shot. Any constructive criticism gratefully received.
All constructive comments are appreciated. TIA.
(From All About bird) - Although some start breeding at two years of age, Sandhill Cranes may reach the age of seven before breeding. They mate for life—which can mean two decades or more—and stay with their mates year-round. Juveniles stick close by their parents for 9 or 10 months after hatching.

This Coopers Hawk was feeding on a fallen tree that crossed the Seine River. I was able to take this picture from my kayak as I drifted downstream towards the hawk. He stayed in place on the log until I passed directly under him, at which time he flew off to a higher perch.
Among the bird world’s most skillful fliers, Cooper’s Hawks are common woodland hawks that tear through cluttered tree canopies in high speed pursuit of other birds. You’re most likely to see one prowling above a forest edge or field using just a few stiff wingbeats followed by a glide. (Cornell).

Constructive criticism is very welcome! This series is from the burnt remains of a wheelbarrow taken with my trusty 50mm analogue lens at f/2 with a size 2 extension tube.

I've been putting some thought into getting some software to capture my edits for the masses and was wondering if anyone else had a favorite desktop capturing application they could recommend. I'm looking for something simple, nothing to overly complicated or complex, but something that certainly provides and good end result; perhaps something that would enable me to make a video that could be downloaded and watched at a later date....when time permits, if you will.
Also, are there any particular processing techniques that people out there would like to learn, become better at, or simply just have a fresh perspective on. Perhaps a new way of processing an image, black and white conversions, shooting for HDR, shooting for detail, etc. If you're anything like me, I get stuck in these processing ruts in which I'm processing images the same way each and every time. That just seems to be so boring at times.......I like to always be moving forward!
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Feel free to provide critique and constructive criticism regarding the image above...game on!

Butterflies possess some of the most striking colour displays found in nature. As they fly from flower to flower gathering nectar, their brightly colored wings seem to shimmer and change colours before your eyes. A butterfly’s rich colour can act as camouflage, mate attraction and warning signal.
