Carla's street is under construction and part of the project is to put new water mains in the ground. They're huge! They stand about four feet all and two to three feet wide. I took this one down on the ground looking through the row of them laying on the sidewalk, waiting to be put into the ground for the next fifty years.

It's been fascinating watching some of the work that's been done thus far. I had wondered what the crane with "the long hosy thing" was for and once the cement truck hooked up to it I found out. I even learned what the "small hosy thing" was for to help vibrate out the air bubbles and help the cement adhere to the surface of the metal form.
here is a better view of the green building, which I think is a lovely color, but is actually insulation or other building material. This will probably end up another gray or brown building.
Construction is non-stop all over this city. It's overwhelming. I can't believe that the infrastructure exists for all these new homes for more and more people on this tiny island.

They're removing the "permanent" crane, which means they have to bring another big crane to take it down.
Construction at the "beach", turning it into a raised area and moving the swimming area south to cleaner waters.
