At the north end of the site, the contractor has placed reinforcing steel and is about to begin erecting formwork for the stormwater detention vault. In order to minimize the project’s impact to the City’s flood control infrastructure, which is especially critical given our proximity to the Texas Medical Center, the HMNS Expansion includes the construction of a large concrete tank that will control the rate at which rainwater flows from the museum site into the public storm sewers during a major rain event.

The form work for the passenger elevator pit is in place, and around the site poured columns are beginning to appear. Along the south wall of the basement the waterproofing membranes are now in place up to the top of the foundation. Also at the south end, the contractor has poured a seal slab over top of the footings and the surrounding dirt to help stabilize the soil.

I "dug up" haha the news of what is happening here: It is a mixed-use ["mixeduse"] development and its architects' renderings look about how you'd expect a late-2010s mixed-use development would look: Very very similar to nearly every mixed-use development that has been constructed in the United States since the late 1990s.
Couple of trumplovers down there in the lower right probably, I'm glad they're far away.

Piles are trucked from Salisbury, MA to the UMass Boston campus for the construction of the Integrated Sciences Complex.
August also saw us putting in the second half of the east wall in our basement. After pouring the huge slab of a footing we needed we set up the ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) and had readi-mix concrete delivered by cement truck to fill it up.

The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) under construction at 850 North Fifth Street in Phoenix, Arizona. The building, scheduled to be complete in late 2020, will have the first four floors dedicated to Arizona State University, and the top three floors available for lease, totaling 227,000 square feet of what is described as innovation center and lab enabled spaces. Wexford Science and Technology, the Ventas Inc. REIT, the City of Phoenix, and the State of Arizona conducted a groundbreaking ceremony in early 2019.
If you peer through the shadow you will see the elevator pit walls now exposed. At the south end of the site a second mesh of reinforcing steel has been applied over the foundation wall waterproofing in anticipation of the next layer of shotcrete.

Two of the three square, deep footings that sit beneath the passenger elevators are being formed. The lower part of the foundation wall waterproofing membranes are in place. At the top right in the photo you can see two footings have been poured at street level – more on those later!

Hooray! On the last day of October the very first section of slab has been poured at the southwest corner of the site. This section covers over 7,500 square feet of basement (and STILL isn’t even one-fifth of the area being constructed on this floor alone.)

Coming to the end of this phase of the construction project at the DMPD. Resurfacing of the South parking lot
Nico Apartments, a new mixed-use building project at 1701 Nicollet Avenue, 1713-1735 Nicollet Avenue, and 16 18th Street East under construction, as seen on December 13, 2019.
The building is planned to have 146 dwelling units and 7,000 square feet of commercial space, being worked on by Yellow Tree Corp. and DJR Architecture.
Several footings have been poured and the first cages of reinforcing steel for the columns are being set at the south end.

At the bottom of this photo, two round culverts that serve as the basement’s sump pits have been put in place. The areas around the nearby footings have been backfilled. Elsewhere on the site additional seal slabs have been poured and the south end of the basement readied to accept the slab on grade.
