Since the stimulus went through earlier in the spring, there has been A LOT of work on this big construction project in Maryland right along I-95 - the "Inter-county Connector". We commute by it each day to/from work, so it is interesting to see the progress.

As part of the Lakeshore Complete Streets project, the sidewalks on Lake Park from Rand to the mid-block crosswalk are being widened by six feet.
This shot was taken from Rand facing to the west. Sidwalks were widened to better accommodate AC Transit buses and also to create a more pedestrian-friendly connection between Grand and Lakeshore.

Sidewalk being poured on the corner of Lakeshore and MacArthur. The main objective of this element of the Complete Streets Project was to bulb out the sidewalks at the southeast corner in order to shorten the crosswalks and also to slow down cars turning right to enter the freeway.

I'm curious what the mesh is for; I'm guessing they are to isolate areas which will later be filled by something, but perhaps that's where the trees will eventually be planted.
Well looks like the construction sites are up and running again. This was the scene at Les Bassins du Havre at Richmond and Basin streets in Griffentown today.
