Good day gentleladies and gentlelords! (✧ω✧)
Man cave opens today on the 17th of September! Some of you might have already took over the event by storm but for those who didn't - it's certainly worth a visit. Dura made new unisex hair for us, inspired by the famous actor River Phoenix. Next to a huge palette of color choices, the hair comes with three different styling options.
Since my editing is very subtle it might come as a surprise to some of you BUT (careful, sarcasm!) my pictures are heavily painted. Such surprise, very wow. But FEAR NOT MY FRIEND. I have not forsaken you. Here's a • raw preview • of the new hair ♡
I love this hair not only because it's a gender-neutral, cozy looking hair with an amazing level of detail and fine strands but also... doesn't it remind you of someone else too? Is it just me? Black hair, pale face, grumpy mood, face expression like he's constantly smelling sweaty socks or dead rats (maybe both), house teacher of Slytherin - no? Please someone safe me and make a Severus Snape cosplay for halloween with this (≧▽≦)
Before we continue with the credits I want to kindly thank Chiaki-sensei for their hard work on this hair. Thank you, Chiaki-sensei! Kudos to you and all my favorite creators who I included in this picture (also my bby and my PAPA CERB - you da best!). Biggest thanks to my lovely u10-kun for his patience and for modelling for me. Thanks for all your hard work my lovely creators and friends, you make every picture special (*´▽`*) ♡

USAFE Boeing WC-135 Constant Phoenix climbs out from RAF Mildenhall, Suffolk, England.
The WC-135 Constant Phoenix is a special-purpose aircraft derived from the Boeing C-135 Stratolifter and used by the United States Air Force. Its mission is to collect samples from the atmosphere for the purpose of detecting and identifying nuclear explosions.
A constant presence in our gardens and local green spaces, adult robins are instantly recognisable by their red breast with many tales from folklore of how they acquired their colourful feathers. The red colour features in its scientific name, Erithacus rubecula, and in many languages such as robin goch in Welsh, rouge-gorge in French, and el petirrojo in Spanish.
These little birds are constant companions in our part of Arkansas. I love photographing them in the winter, because they turn into cute little fluff balls of feathers. This one was striking some poses for me.

Roan Mountain is typically the pinnacle of my year. The Catawba Rhododendron bloom highlights what is likely the most spectacular thing I see and photograph annually. This year was no different. However, a combination of planned and unplanned circumstances had me really chasing my tail around, spending long periods on the highway followed by some poor decisions while in the field that left me exhausted (it's easy to underestimate the importance of keeping yourself fresh mentally and physically if you want to produce). The end result was only two to three days chasing the Catawba Rhododendron this year. Surprisingly, I actually dropped the mountain after this short period feeling really good about what I had seen and what I had captured. I knew that the conditions were difficult--as they always are at Roan--but, I really thought I had done what I needed to present some fantastic scenics from the annual bloom. Upon later inspection, most of my takes are a mess of wind blur and non-optimal lighting. Those that pass the quality inspection--like the one above--are pushing the camera hard with higher isos to stop the constant swaying action of the vegetation as consistent winds blanketed the exposed ridge.
All in all, it was a beautiful bloom on Grassy Ridge and another wonderful year of photography in the Roan Highlands. I would be lying if I didn't say that I'm a bit disappointed in myself for the lack of production and the shots that were missed. However, I'm not ever going to complain about spending some time in one of my favorite places!
The yellow tent in the clearing belonged to J Christian Smilanic (Dawnfire Photography) who I would later meet. Great dude and photographer out of the Asheville, NC area.

Time is not a natural law," she said. "It is a plan. When time is observed attentively, or one begins to touch time, it starts to dissolve. This is the result of the first part of the experiment. This plan is not from Biehl. Therefor it is too big and too total. The second part will be to investigate what is behind time. We've seen time begin to decompose. The next will be to understand what is behind time."

I grew up during the so-called Cold War, with a constant threat that was intangible.
Right now I feel a threat like I have never known in my life.
I am afraid. I am sick. I do not know what i could do to stop it.
Men attack women in the train just because they want to. A man that did not get enough psychological help killed a two years old kid.
Our politicians have no other idea than closing the borders, which, say it out loud, was always one of the beginnings of totalitarianism and fascism.
I am without further words.

With a constant stream of parent Puffins flying in with fish to feed their broods, I was spoilt for choice here. Although it's a tad soft, I thought I'd post this one. This guy came straight for me, landing around 18 inches from my foot, before disappearing down his nearby burrow. Such a great thing to see.

Living 10 minutes away from the top of Te Mata Peak, I come here often. The main, structural elements of the view from the peak are always the same. However, the time of day, the season and atmospheric conditions always make it a unique experience. On top of that, my mood when editing the photo also has a lot of influence on the final image.

More or less I had an idea of what to shoot for the week's themes but it took much longer than planned. Had to dig out some decaying leaves in the backyard looking for the right subject. Finally found this 1.5 inch very fragile leaf skeleton.

Excerpt from art-partners.co/blog/public-art-5/colors-shapes-movements...:
This is the first exhibition of the Design Dullegil Special Exhibition, and this year we are joined by world-renowned artist Felice Varini, who turns everyday spaces into artworks. The Colors Shapes Movements exhibition presents four new works created by shapes and colors that constantly change according to the movement of visitors. The exhibition of the Design Dullegil spans 167 meters hand-painted by the artist.
Felice Varini, a Swiss artist based in Paris, creates hypnotising artworks that transforms ordinary spaces into paintings. For Seoul Light 2024, Varini produced four original artworks under the exhibition Colours Shapes Movements. His artworks, hand painted onto the walls, floors and ceilings of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, depend on the viewers perception to be realised: “When the spectator stands in a given place, it is coherent. When the individual shifts from that point of view, an infinite number of perspectives of the form arise”. Inspired by the fluid architecture and hugging the curved interiors of the DDP, Varini’s exhibition is intended to be seen both as fragments and as a whole.

In 1896, Montald came in as professor of the decorative arts at the Academy of Fine arts in Brussels, a post he would hold until 1932.
His students there include some of the best-known names of Belgian painters: René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Edgard Tytgat, Paul Cauchie, Joseph Lacasse, Armand Bonnetain, Paul Heymans...
Amid London's ever-evolving skyline and the constant refurbishment work inside interiors across the capital, there's something reassuring about a location that, 100 years after it opened, remains almost unchanged. I last photographed the beautiful Cecil Brewer staircase inside Heal's Department Store nearly two years ago, and it had been even longer since I last captured the view looking upwards from the bottom of the spiral. Such a wide variety of compositions and finishes can be achieved by shifting the position of the camera just a few inches one way or another, or by adjusting the focal length of the lens by just a few millimetres, and the staircase's perfect geometric shape and the majestic pendant lights hanging from its ceiling mean it's always a joy to return to.
One detail I hadn't noticed during previous visits -- mostly because it's less noticeable from the top of the spiral -- is how the dozens of hanging lights are constantly swaying back and forth. As hypnotic as this was to watch, it was also challenging for this image, where I was hoping to blend multiple bracketed exposures for the cleanest possible finish. Although I was able to use luminosity masks in Photoshop to brighten the shadows along the staircase, the pendant lights contain traces of midtones as well as highlights, and as a result their constant movement -- even though this was almost imperceptible -- made it difficult for the frames to be perfectly aligned and to achieve a sharp finish. The only way to overcome this was to use a high ISO in order to keep the shutter speed fast, while at the same time holding onto a narrow aperture to ensure that the entire staircase and all of the suspended lights remained in focus.
The final result is a blend of eight exposures, with the darkest exposures for the lights and creating a natural vignette around the edge of the frame, and the brightest exposures restored along the underside of the stairs as they approach the ceiling. I liked how the moody and mysterious tone seemed to come from letting the repeating patterns be the dominant elements of the image, and for this reason I placed emphasis on the darker exposures, where the texture of the balustrade and the subtle mixture of light and shadow along each step in the staircase was best defined.
After editing out a couple of water sprinklers, as well as a small portion of the staircase in the upper-right of the frame which felt like a bit of a distraction, I used a mixture of Curves, Levels, Colour Balance, Hue/Saturation, Selective Colour and Gradient Map adjustments to shift towards a colder finish along the staircase, while using luminosity masks to retain the warmer tones inside the pendant lights. Inside Nik's Silver Efex Pro, which was set to the Luminosity blend mode so that the image would remain in colour, I gently lowered the midtone and shadow structure along the staircase in the foreground, while increasing the Soft Contrast that would help to play up each step's tonality. Finally, I added three low-opacity Colour Lookup presets -- Edgy Amber for the highlights, Foggy Night for the midtones, and Night from Day for the shadows -- and set each adjustment to Soft Light, which helped to emphasise the cold and slightly ethereal finish I'd been aiming for.
While the final result involved a lot of incremental editing to the tone and the light, I tried not to stray too far from the original details of the scene. The location is deservedly one of the most photographed staircases in London, partly because, even after a century, it looks stunning straight out of the camera.

AWB 082-3317 7922 is a creation by artist Sven Augustijnen (2021)
Exhibition "Congoville" in the Middelheim open-air museum in Antwerp, Belgium.
Sven Augustijnen (1970) was born in Mechelen, Belgium, and he lives and works in Brussels. Working primarily in film and installation, Augustijnen’s practice has long been exploring political, historical, and social themes, constantly challenging the genre of the documentary and reflecting a wider interest in historiography and a predilection for the nature of storytelling.
This work is a ‘political ghost shrine’ for Patrice Lumumba (1925-1961), the first Prime Minister of the independent Congo.
Lumumba was assassinated by a coalition of Belgian, American and Katangese authorities, but to this day has still not been given a grave. The bicycle had been Lumumba’s preferred means of transportation. The sacks of charcoal and the tree to which the bicycle is attached refer to the tree against which he was executed along with two political companions, and which was probably reduced to ashes to cover all traces. But also, the piece imitates the bike riders carrying homemade charcoal, so common on contemporary Congolese roads. Augustijnen’s assemblage is titled after the airway freight number assigned to the shipment of these objects from the village in which Lumumba was assassinated to Belgium. In the end, the package never arrived. That loss, on the way from Africa to Europe, plus the seriality and anonymity of the administrative code, echo the ‘cold case’ of this murder, and in a broader sense of the Belgian-Congolese post-colonial history.
