World’s Best Surfers Ignite Aproador to Complete Round 1 of Billabong Rio Pro

APROADOR, Rio de Janeiro/Brazil (Tuesday, May 17, 2011) – After a week of lay-days, the world’s best surfers tore into consistently changing conditions at the lefthand pointbreak of Aproador to complete Round 1 of the Billabong Rio Pro.

Stop No. 3 of 11 on the ASP World Title Series, the opening day of men’s competition saw ASP Dream Tour veterans earn the day’s top scores while defending event winner Jadson Andre (BRA), 21, made an impressive entrance in the Billabong Rio Pro’s opening round.

Kelly Slater (USA), 39, reigning 10-time ASP World Champion, got off to a strong start to open his Billabong Rio Pro campaign. Slater unleashed two furious tail-drifting backhand turns to notch the day’s highest single-wave score of a 9.00 (out of 10) midway through his bout to overtake ASP World Tour rookie Julian Wilson (AUS), 22, and event wildcard Peterson Crisanto (BRA), 18, after nearly missing the start of his heat.

“That 9 felt good,” Slater said. “I went down to grab my jersey and there was some confusion. By the time I got out, the heat had already started and Julian got that first one. It wasn’t a good start. I knew there were going to be some good ones and I just had to be patient. That one good wave actually let me bottom turn and hit the lip, most of the waves were soft and had a lot of horizontals.”

Slater, who finished runner-up at the Billabong Pro last year, was also quick to admit that several goofy-footers will be tough to beat at the lefthander of Aproador and noted that the natural-footers will need to be especially selective in their wave choice at the Billabong Rio Pro.

“A little left like this is going to play well for goofy footers,” Slater said. “Owen (Wright) and Jadson (Andre) are probably frothing on it and licking their chops ready to go. We (natural footers) have been on our frontside at Snapper and Bells and now it’s their turn. We’ve just got to try and be smart. Mick (Fanning) looked good and there are waves out there to do it, you’ve just got to be smart.”

Taj Burrow (AUS), 32, opened his Billabong Rio Pro campaign with a sharp backhand attack by belting two Arpoador lefthanders to the tune of a 16.83 (out of 20) on his first two waves to earn the highest heat-total of the day. The Australian veteran notched his Round 1 heat win over dangerous Brazilian rookie Alejo Muniz (BRA), 21, and event wildcard Ricardo Santos (BRA), 20.

“It was kind of scary for a second there, right when they decided to start the competition the wind started howling, but then it cleaned up heaps,” Burrow said. “I got two fun ones at the start so I’m happy.”

Jadson Andre, defending event winner, reveled in Aproador’s lefthanders with a combination of aggressive carves and snaps to take a convincing Round 1 heat victory with the support of the Brazilian crowd behind him.

“I’m so happy to be here competing in Brazil and I love Aproador, I feel like a local,” Andre said. “I’ve competed here several times before and have friends here. I know everyone says I should feel pressure as defending champion, but I’m not worried about it. I’m just thinking about the next heat. That’s what I did last year.”

Mick Fanning (AUS), 29, two-time ASP World Champion, slowly built momentum in his opening Billabong Rio Pro heat, eventually igniting two lefthanders by combining a series of seamless backhand turns to notch a 15.07 heat total to advance directly through to Round 3.

“It was tricky trying to find the right one out there, but I watched the heat before and noticed that guys that were doing turns back-to-back were getting scores, so I tried to concentrate on that,” Fanning said. “They weren’t the biggest waves, but they just allowed three turns straight away.”

The Australian talent also expressed the importance of advancing directly through to Round 3 with Brazil’s ever-changing conditions.

“It’s really good to skip as many rounds as possible, especially here in Brazil where it can be really unpredictable,” Fanning said. “I’m stoked to get through Round 1 and I’ll go back and assess what’s going on and hopefully keep going.”

Billabong Rio Pro event organizers will reconvene at Aproador at 7am local time tomorrow morning for a possible Round 2 start.

TYPES OF LITHIUM ION BATTERIES FOR SALE

LITHIUM-ION CELL

Tianneng Group produces both high-quality cylindrical and pouch lithium batteries with NCM and LFP technology. From material research to cell production, we take every step with strict simulation and configuration to secure the heart of the power you need.

LITHIUM-ION PACK

Tianneng Battery's lithium deep cycle battery is flexibly designed with a dedicated battery management system (BMS), which can easily adapt to the various requirements with different energy levels and structural forms.

What Is The Difference Between A Lithium Battery And A Regular Battery?

Comparing to the regular battery, the lithium batteries for sale have a higher energy-to-weight ratio and energy-to-volume ratio.

With the small self-discharge, lithium-ion batteries can be stored for a longer time, which is the most prominent advantage of this type of battery;

Different from the regular battery, the number of lithium battery charge/discharge cycles is far more than 500 times;

It can be charged quickly. Lithium battery can usually be charged with 0.5 ~ 1 times the capacity of the current so that the charging time is shortened to 1 ~ 2 hours;

Lastly, as the lithium-ion battery packs do not contain cadmium, lead, mercury, and other heavy metal elements, they will make no pollution to the environment, thereby making themselves the most advanced eco-friendly battery;

Lithium-Ion Battery Replacement For Lead Acid

There are many scenarios in which power lithium battery can replace the lead-acid, and the matters needing attention in various scenarios are different, which are usually considered from the following aspects:

Charging: the charging voltage of the lead-acid battery and lithium-ion battery is different, and the charging voltage and charging current of power supply equipment supporting the battery should be adjusted to the working range of lithium deep cycle battery;

Discharge: Lithium battery comes with BMS or protection board, the maximum discharge current of load should not be greater than the protection current of Lithium battery BMS;

Series and parallel: the lead-acid accumulator cell is simple to use, can be used in any series, no more than 4 groups in parallel; The lithium deep cycle battery has internal electronic components, series and parallel need to consult the manufacturer, otherwise the high voltage and circulation current may cause the components to burn out.

Protection level: the protection level of lead-acid batteries is high, which can generally reach IP67; The protection level of lithium batteries vary greatly from IP20 to IP68, so it is necessary to consider whether the power lithium battery can be replaced from the application scenarios.

Consistent with both local pride and their trendy logo, there are a lot of good pictures up inside that show the construction and use of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I like pictures of the bridge, especially the "under construction" shots that are much more compelling to me than the "isn't this pretty and iconic" side view that is packaged in a thousand different ways.

I actually wonder if these are here because they are part of the bar or if they put them in at the same time they came up with the new logo as some sort of marketing campaign. I didn't see any pictures of the Pyramid, so maybe these are just bar pictures there for their own sake.

Standup paddlers faced a steady headwind during the second Lake Erie North Shore Standup Saturday, said event founder and coordinator Katherine Balpataky.

“It was consistent … the waves weren’t overly technical, but they kept you on the ball, said Balpataky, who finished third in the 20-kilometre race.

It was the second year for the event, held to support Carolinian Canada’s Lake Erie Coastal Stewardship EcoTrail. The ecotrail highlights natural and cultural treasures of the lake’s 600-kilometre coastline from Essex to Niagara.

The race, which kicked off at Nickel Beach in Port Colborne, also saw five- and 10-kilometre races, said Balpataky.

The stop for the five-kilometre race was at Centennial Beach, and the 10-kilometre race ended at Pleasant Beach. The 20-kilometre race ended on the public beach at Crystal Beach.

“Most people were doing the five-kilometre race,” said Balpataky, adding there were just under 40 racers who signed up and took to the waters, including sponsors Larry and Cathy Boggio.

She said the headwinds, coming east down Lake Erie, would have made things challenging for beginners in the race.

“I just hope no one walked away feeling overly discouraged, given the number of people who didn’t finish the distance they intended to travel. I hope everyone walked away feeling good for just entering a paddle race and having fun on the water,” said Balpataky, who was happy with the day.

Ivan Dimic, who finished the 20-kilometre race first with a time of two hours and forty minutes, said the headwind and a wind from one side caused him to paddle on one side of his board.

“I didn’t alternate strokes, so it was a little tough,” the 53-year-old Toronto resident said.

It was his first time racing in the event; last year he helped Balpataky organize it.

Dimic has been standup paddling for nearly four years and races almost every weekend if he can.

Though most races are less than 10-kilometres in length, with some between 10 and 15-kilometres, Dimic doesn’t mind long ones.

Balpataky said most standup paddle races in Ontario tend to be six to eight-kilometres in length.

But even though the event was a race, she said it was also about getting people on the water to go past a beautiful shoreline view.

“We’ll have people go at a fast pace though.”

Balpataky, Dimic, and 20-kilometre second place finisher Mike Austin, all paddled on racing hulls.

Darryl Austin, owner of Ausmosis Style on Board and race sponsor, said Dimic is a very good racer and the board he used one was a 14-foot racing hull.

“They don’t get any lighter or faster. Ivan was probably going 8.5 km/h out there.”

Austin said Balpataky and Mike Autsin were on 12.6-foot Ausmosis racing hulls, and added racers in the 10-kilometre part of the event, would also have used racing hulls.

Balpataky said a unique guided hike of Marcy’s Woods in Holloway Bay, by the Bert Miller Nature Club, would take place Sunday.

Zoogeografia

I am consistent in one thing...and that is change!

I have played with the awning idea for several days, and whatever I have done, it just didn't please me...so there comes a time to change the plan. My "new" alteration is to use the smaller dome idea on the Oriel windows, and I am MUCH happier with it. The other approach just didn't balance itself out in the big picture with what I had planned for the third floor.

I have gesso'd and sanded the dome pieces, using rough sandpaper and then a finer grained sandpaper to smooth out the surfaces. I've used 0000 steel wool to sand the surface, which leaves me with a very smooth surface to work with.

The "dome" is made from foamcore board and a "Downy UnStoppables Scent Booster" bottle top that I cut off and then cut in half. Such humble beginnings! I am back to being excited about where this thing is going...I have some ideas about how to treat the dome pieces that I think will be fun to do!

Consistent with a prediction for improving weather, the morning dawned clear and bright with not a whisper of wind. The reflection of Ragged Peak in Young Lake provided a lovely light show.

ZUG, SWITZERLAND: Financial investors and leaders of more than 30 different faith traditions representing over 500 faith investment groups from eight religions and billions of dollars in assets, met in Zug's beautiful Lassalle Haus retreat centre together with representatives of the UN and some key impact investment funds, for a unique international meeting on Faith in Finance. They are there because they have all agreed to set out and make public their priorities for positive investment – a huge shift from the faith tradition of saying, for ethical reasons, what they won’t invest in. Asking the question: “what do you do with your investments to make a better planet?” they will give huge impetus to a new movement of faith assets to funds where they have a positive “faith-consistent” impact. www.arcworld.org/projects.asp?projectID=674

As I made the simple guided meditation for beginners, I thought to make the list of benefits in meditation. Doing meditation has more benefits than you think. I too had found them by research and with help of some videos. I will also share the benefits that I got from making meditation a habit.

10+ benefits of meditation-wisemision

You will not get all these benefits by doing it for some days. You should be consistent and should practice meditation daily. To be frank, I too miss meditation nowadays and I am trying to do meditation daily. You will suffer for the first few days and will be amazed after getting its benefits.

Continue your meditation for 14 days and you will get a good feeling that you hadn't before. This is only based on my experience but I think you would also get it. Your life is going to change when you are practising meditation daily.

Now let's check what are some amazing benefits of meditation.

Reduces stress and tension.

People who do meditation has reduced stress and tension. This is one of the best benefits of meditation. It helps us to reduce our stress and avoid tensions. We fail in some works because of stress and tension. Our overstress is very harmful and the best method to control it is daily meditation. Daily meditation will make your mind cool and it will help you to be distressed.

You may have faced situations when you become more tensed. Taking a deep breath will help you to get relief from that tension and it will give you solutions too. So, think about doing meditation daily. Meditation is also simple like this but you have to put your time into it. You can avoid your maximum stress and tension by making meditation a habit. You can be happier than before.

The best solution for your stress and tension is meditation and make it has a habit. You can find many opportunities by decreasing your stress and tensions. So, comment down below if you think this benefit is useful or not.

2. Will increase your self-awareness.

Meditation will increase your self-awareness. You may have noticed that people do meditation daily has control in them and their life. You can also control yourself by doing meditation daily. Meditation will help you to be aware of which is helpful.

You will have control over everything that happens in your life and your emotions. You can control your anger by doing daily meditation. Your mind will be aware of what to say and what to do. This will save you from many consequences. Your patience also increases by doing meditation daily.

Also, you will be aware of your talents and weaknesses. A person who does meditation daily can understand what are his talents and what is his weak points. Your accepting mentality will also increase by doing this.

3. Increase in concentration

Concentration is important for everything in our life. We need a high concentration in a particular thing if we need to make it perfect. Concentration is very important in our lives and we can increase our concentration by making meditation a habit. Concentration is a must thing for people who goes for a job and students.

You get many benefits of increasing our concentration and it is amazing that can increase your concentration by doing meditation daily. So, if you want more concentration then meditation is the best way for it.

4. High memory power.

Increasing your memory power is the next benefit of meditation that you need. Memory power is also an essential thing that is our life. We may have faced or currently facing some problems due to our forgetting habit. It is normal to forget but it will make many problems if you are not remembering anything. You can make our life smoother by increasing your memory power.

You can do your things at the correct time and place if you have a good memory power. Everything will go smoothly if you have a good memory power. Increasing your memory power will help you to score good marks in exams if you are a student and can do your work more effectively if you are an adult. This is a super thrilling benefit that I had mentioned in one of my posts.

6 Develop kindness

You will develop kindness if you are doing meditation daily. You will become more kind and helpful to others if you are making meditation a habit. Kindness is the major thing that a human need to have.

You will be kind to everyone near you like your friends, colleagues, family and other strangers. The benefit of being kind is you will be considered and loved by others and will also get help from others when needed. The bad habits or thoughts like others will be less for the people who do daily meditation.

Being kind will always help you and you will surely get what you give. If you're kind to others then God or the universe will show kindness to you every time.

Kindness is seen in everyone but it will be more for the people who meditate.

7. Good sleep

Meditation will help you to sleep better.

It helps us to clean our mind and will lead us to sleep early and good. Good sleeping is the best blessing from the god and many of us don't get it. We cannot sleep better sometimes and meditation will help you in this case. You will get this benefit after continuing meditation for some days.

You can continue media for getting a good sleep which is essential for our mental and physical health. We can sleep with happiness because meditation also releases our stress.

I have told this is my post on how to be creative. Meditation will give you a boost on your creativity and that's helpful.

Creativity will help us through different ways and meditation will help you to be more creative. It is scientifically proven that people who do meditation daily are highly creative.

This is one of the benefits that I love much more because high creativity is needed to create high-quality contents for you. As all the benefits above, you cannot get instant results for this but you can see good changes in your creative works.

Good relations

As I mentioned that people who do meditation have more kindness, the people who do meditation can maintain good relations too. They will have a good relation to people and people will be always attracted by people.

You can behave in a good manner if you do meditation daily. As your behaviour become good people attracts to you and you maintain good relations with others.

This is very beneficial for everyone, especially for business.

10. Can make good decisions and also can solve problems faster.

You can make good decisions by doing meditation and it will help you to improve your life. I have written a detailed post on how to make good decisions. I had also mentioned the benefits of making good decisions in our life.

We do mistake in taking decisions and daily meditation will help you to make good decisions. The decision to do meditation is really good so don't make a delay in it.

My experience of doing daily meditation

Before, I was having more tensions, stress and was not getting happiness at all.

My mind was not stabled and I was confused about what to do. My life went too boring and I was not getting peace in anything. I was a dump at that time and it was the worst experience in my life.

I was not being able to study better and score fewer marks in exams. Then I heard about meditation in some videos. But, I didn't start it because I thought it was religious and I don't want it. That is one of the biggest mistakes I had done. I was missing such an opportunity that can change my life forever. Then I started doing meditation because I was anxious to experience what is in it. I had done it for 1 month and I continued it for days.

I had started meditation before 2 months and it is not far. After, My mind became more relaxed and distress after doing daily meditation. This was the best benefit I got from meditation.

My ideas became more clear and I got solutions for most of the problem I had. I had gotten an idea on what to do in my life. I can concentrate more than before and I am happy with that. Everything changed in my life by just continuing meditation for 2 months.

I hadn't got every benefit of meditation but the result of this is fabulous. You will also see changes when you start and continue meditation. This is not an instant wait for the results.

Conclusion

These were some benefits of meditation.

I have also shared my experience on doing meditation daily. I too was not interested in doing meditation at first but I got interested after getting some benefits of it.

That's all from me

Thank you 💖

Brassneck (2014)

If you read this website on a somewhat consistent basis, you'll see two things repeated quite often. 1. I'm just a complete sucker for the music of the 90's, the music released then will always just seem like the best to me. And 2. There has been a real resurgence in bands today taking cues and paying homage to bands from the 90's; which is A-OK by me. Of all of the 90's things to stage a little comeback, the one I expected the least, but probably love the most is all of these new bands that sound like the glory days of the mid to late 90's UK punk scene. I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, when bands like Broccoli, Hooton 3 Car and Chopper ruled the world, I never loved music more.

The 2 bands on this 7" not only take cues from that UK scene, several of the guys in these bands were actually part of it. First up we have The No Marks. They feature members of Crocodile God and Blocko. The 2 songs on their side of the 7" are phenomenal. They definitely have that Broccoli-esque raspy vocal thing and intricate guitar playing down, but I find them to be a bit poppier and perhaps slightly more lighthearted than Broccoli was. In particular the back and forth between clean guitar and fuzzy guitar on "About Tomorrow" really stands out as something unique.

Over on the flip side we've got Hyalin. A band made up of folks from Blocko and folks from one of my absolute current favorite bands Chestnut Road. All you really need to know is that of the 2 songs on this 7", one is a cover of the Broccoli song "Constance." It's great as is their original "Clear As Glass." If you imagined a band that sounded like a cross between Blocko and Chestnut Road, they would sound exactly like this.

This is just such a great 7" and really, everyone should check it out. While you're doing that, you really also should make sure you have every Broccoli, Blocko, Chestnut Road and Crocodile God record you can find. When you have all those don't forget Hooton 3 Car and Chopper. Oh and you should really grab that donFisher 7" that Crackle put out. So many record to buy...

Consistent Character

Va a Ordeñar

One day last month I was out on the balcony with the camera early enough to catch our neighbor just about to pass over the bridge to cross the river. Either she or her husband or the both of them make this journey every morning and every evening to milk their cows that are pastured on the other side of the river from where they live.

Alright, so over the past few months I've been trying to get decent and somewhat consistent results out of this very not properly stored ektachrome from july of 1983.

Since it's nearly 40 years old now, the film has a slight blue cast but has a surprising amount of density compared to where I was before with it. The shot here was quite a bit more blue and slightly green, but a quick absolute black level adjustment on those two channels got everything nicely in place color-wise

Since I didn't have any reciprocity data for this old emulsion I just went ahead and used 100 seconds at around 5.6 or so. Really pleased with the results here, even though this particular stock is definitely physically degrading emulsion-wise due to age and the fact that it smells like it was stored in an incredibly humid garage. Fun.

Crema corpo a portar via

Selvaggia e indomita, attinge dalla natura la sua essenza.

Crema corpo nutriente dalla texture asciutta pervade il corpo con una fragranza dai toni fruttati ed esotici che si fondono in un tripudio fiorito, verde e primaverile.
