All the door hinges in the Beaconsfield House have the same floral design. The door casings appear to be birds eye maple (to the left) which is also consistent throughout the house. The birds eye maple jamb appeared to me to be painted but may have been real. It just didn’t have any depth like real wood grain.
ZUG, SWITZERLAND: Financial investors and leaders of more than 30 different faith traditions representing over 500 faith investment groups from eight religions and billions of dollars in assets, met in Zug's beautiful Lassalle Haus retreat centre together with representatives of the UN and some key impact investment funds, for a unique international meeting on Faith in Finance. They are there because they have all agreed to set out and make public their priorities for positive investment – a huge shift from the faith tradition of saying, for ethical reasons, what they won’t invest in. Asking the question: “what do you do with your investments to make a better planet?” they will give huge impetus to a new movement of faith assets to funds where they have a positive “faith-consistent” impact. www.arcworld.org/projects.asp?projectID=674
Answering to any number of names; Conga ant, bullet ant, 24 hour ant, lesser giant hunting ant, the one thing consistent is the pain they cause. In their natural range from Nicaragua to Paraguay, a single stink is likened to being shot with fiery waves of pain which continue unabated for up to 24hrs. It is no wonder then that a sting by a bullet ant is rated a 4+ on the Schmidt pain index, the highest of any insect. Though apparently some tribes, notably the Satere-Mawe of Brazil have put this dubious benefit to their advantage. They gather up a large number of these ants, up to 100 and then sew them into a glove, stingers facing inwards. This is then presented to a boy of the tribe. In order to graduate to manhood he must don the glove and leave it on for a set period of time without crying out. This process is repeated, sometimes 20 times until the tribe is satisfied and the boy has become a man. Fortunately there are other uses and the poneratoxin is currently being studied in modern medicine as a voltage gated sodium channel inhibitor which blocks synaptic transmission in insects though it acts as a smooth muscle agonist in mammals.
These are the largest of the Ponerine ants achieving lengths of 20-30mm long. They display little variation between castes, workers displaying variation only insofar as a normal distribution curve with no specialization. They make nests at the base of trees and forage on the surrounding trees, climbing into the canopy to search for nectar sources and small invertebrates. If they feel their nest is being threatened they release a musky odor and stridulate from a pair of organs in the thorax.

Yesterday the tire flew off my minibus, I cut the head off a pit viper and I was banned from a commercial flight by associating with a narco-trafficker. Today I am bushwhacking through the jungle in the remote trail-less backwaters of Guyana, waist deep in water and praying to make it through the rest of the day alive. What will tomorrow bring? God only knows. The adventure starts here- pbertner.wordpress.com/.
1. Be consistent. If you hope to build a list of targeted subscribers, you must be consistent with your work. Twitter marketing can work really well when done correctly. For example, if you were to start a Twitter account and did nothing but post your link for your business, people would not trust you. So what can you do? I suggest that you only use Twitter when you have crucial updates. That way people only see your business when it matters. And if you're trying to build a list, this is crucial.

Just before I jaunted out to spend the whole day at the California Invitational Relays, I lathered myself in 30 SPF sunscreen... all the standard areas (face, neck, shoulders (though I rarely have my shirt off at track meets), arms, and back of hands). This day though, the sun was a tricky kitten.... this day the sun scorched my legsies... scorched them something fierce.
The top thing is that it's not even a consistent burn so now I can't say "yeah, I was running in a relay... for like 5 miles... around and around (so I would get all sides of my legs) so... yeah... I'm awesome!"
Now when I walk around with shorts on everyone's going to know that I was eating BBQ ribs of the tastiest persuasion while watching track and field evens in the mid-day sun.
Damn my tell tale sunburns!

But then again they follow a state of mind - MY state of mind, and when I feel like posting something - whether a car, or a flower, or a landscape, I go with it. Today I'm in flower-power-mode, hence the colorful view. I hope you enjoy it. A nice weekend to y'all!

Nathanael Chu was a consistently running in the 18’s this year for us. He was our number 2 runner almost every race except at the Domes where he posted a team leading 18:14. He has been a star for us for a very long time now, and it was great to see him get a plaque listing our three big wins this year.
Thursley Common NNR is a consistent place to find wintering Great Grey Shrikes and although the one that arrived mid-autumn promptly vanished, it or another has now begun to show all over the bog and wet areas of the common. Only the band that has been consistently #1 on my Last.fm playlist for years.
Poor Chibi has been going through vocal issues of late. Vocal nodules from the screaming. 22% of why I signed up for voice lessons was because I wanted to know how to have an edge to my voice without worrying about vocal nodules or whatnot.... but thankfully, she was able to sing like an angel and shriek like a demon for the show... And the band had a ferociously awesome live vibe that only comes from a pile of actual musicians who have been playing together for quite a while and not pushing play on a laptop.
I mostly danced around and enjoyed the show in an audience of rabid fans, instead of spending the whole time taking pictures. Although I did take a few.

Kimmy Williams was born and raised in San Francisco and chose to attend SF State due to its consistent celebration of diversity. Williams graduated in May 2012 with a B.A. in humanities and a minor in Italian. Since post grad, she now owns a skincare center in downtown San Francisco by the name of Acqua e Sapone Aesthetics. This center specializes in treating problematic skin conditions like acne through holistic coaching and clinical facials. Williams said, “I chose this work because I wanted to connect with people whose confidence may be suffering due to a skin condition and help them build their self-esteem and self-image.” Acqua e Sapone Aesthetics is 2 months old and Williams is “learning as [she] go(es) along” “The name Acqua e Sapone literally means 'water and soap' in Italian but 'bella acqua e sapone' is an expression that means water and soap beautiful. This concept of just washing your face with soap and water and feeling beautiful without having to cover up who you are is a message that is lacking in the beauty industry and something I wanted to spread through my work,” said Williams. Williams wants to encourage college students and anyone trying to find their path in life to follow their passion. “There are a lot of sweat and tears that go into building a career and opening a business and the thing that will keep you moving forward is the joy of doing that thing every day that you would be doing whether you got paid or not,” said Williams. The Washington post: Iran preparing internal version of Internet
By James Ball and Benjamin Gottlieb, Thursday, September 20,
Last month, Iran’s communications and information technology minister unveiled a plan to take key government agencies and military outfits offline and onto the new network by the end of September. U.S. security researchers say they are for the first time seeing evidence of an operational network that is consistent with Iran’s publicly stated plans.

One of the most consistently recommended attractions in Rio was the Museu do Amanhã, the Museum of Tomorrow. It's basically a glorified science museum, with a sort of highbrow speculative fiction twist, but really the selling point is the spectacular soaring architecture on the banks of the baía de Guanabara. I thought it looked familiar, but immediately upon seeing it, Lonnie declared that it was basically a Rio version of the Oculus, the new transit center erected near us in downtwon New York after 9/11 by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. Smart man, Lonnie: he is also the architect of the Museu do Amanhã..

Weird? Sure.
They're not related, she didn't sew wild oats or anything. (Imagine??? "yeah no other kids...that i know of....") <---- whoa.
This picture is something though. It is a total time machine! Seriously: Zoe looks exactly (_______) like my mom's boyfriend did at the same age, when they were together. Then they were married (I arrive at the very end of their relationship, or just after the end, depending on context).
Time split!
It's a funny emotion to see a photo that implies you and also doesn't at all. But ok.
She laughed a lot while he talked because, holy smokes, it is uncanny.

Are you consistently exhausted — even when you’re getting enough sleep? If so, there might be a few not-so-obvious reasons you’re so sluggish. Lucky for you, there are also a few pretty easy fixes!
1. YOU’RE NOT WAKING UP EARLY ENOUGH.
Take your hand away from the...
This drawing exercise was an attempt to create a consistent look in egg-shaped heads, independent of size and perspective. If you study each head and compare heads among each other, you can clearly see I still need a lot of practice. The six heads were drawn in roughly 45 minutes. It was the second batch of drawings for this exercise, and certainly not the final.
The problems are manyfold. You first have to draw an outline, that is consistent with the egg form. This means you need to have a mental picture of the 3D shape. Then you have to put in the features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.), which have to look consistent when comparing left and right side of the face. And third you have to make the expression consistent in all the faces, which also requires a mental picture of a curved plane with the features place on it. Remember, this is illustration, so sometimes the image has to modified slightly from the mathematically accurate three dimensional form. Clarity is generally more important than an accurate and realistic depiction.
All three things have to be done more or less simultaneously, requiring full concentration of an artist who still has to learn all this.

Consistently seen on menus here in Iceland: things with a sauce they call Bearnaise but clearly is not. Tastes something like a combination of mayonnaise and margarine. I haven't acquired the taste yet!
