Pano-Sabotage, again, in the service of abstraction ...
Music Link: "The Big OM of Tibet" - The Monks of Gyuto Tantric College. Slightly remixed with some of the traditional bells and hand drums extended. The title is a somewhat silly Western contrivance to appeal to the New Age crowd, but the deep overtone chant is very traditional.
The texts for these chants, and Tibetan Buddhist chants in particular, are printed on long, narrow, loose sheets called Pecha, which are bookended with wood tops and bottoms, wrapped in silks and tied. These pages are printed on both sides in Tibetan Sacred text and flipped over in order as one makes their way though the Pecha.
Tantric chanting isn't noted, as in Western musical notation, but is given shape by sinuous, curving, undulating lines that indicate many shifts and changes in breath, length of notes, where harmonic overtones are emphasized over fundamental notes etc. These lines appear over the words of the text, shaping the chant in ways more often than not, far too subtle for the untrained ear to hear. Nevertheless, listening to these chants, especially in person, is said to have a profound effect on the listener's consciousness.
Having done so myself, I can attest to that.

2nd Music Link: "Hallelujah" - David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir. Here, an Eastern inspired but very Western chant vocalizes, also in harmonics, words from the Abrahamic religions, the most common being "Hallelujah". Hykes and choir also do not follow strict Western traditions of notation but work with visual forms to construct the shape and extent of the chant.

A while back, I had posted a series of long-exposure photos of a plasma globe. Apparently, they mysteriously disappeared from my photostream. Thus, I'm posting them again!

Consciousness acts like an “agential cut”; one can experience God as the infinite horizon of goodness, beauty, and truth, or one can refuse to acknowledge the experience of anything. The more human consciousness awakens to God and lives from an integrated center of wholeness, the more one becomes “person.” A person is a deeply relational being who lives by the life of the whole, and one who lives by the life of the whole lives a Godly life.

You left me, sweet, two legacies, -
A legacy of love
A Heavenly Father would content,
Had He the offer of;
You left me boundaries of pain
Capacious as the sea,
Between eternity and time,
Your consciousness and me.
You Left Me, by Emily Dickinson

If you remain still, without paying attention to this, without paying attention to that and without paying attention to anything at all, you will, simply through your powerful attention to being, become the reality, the vast "I", the unbounded space of consciousness.

So little time
Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
But everybody's changing
And I don't feel the same.
You're gone from here
Soon you will disappear
Fading into beautiful light
'cause everybody's changing
And I don't feel right.
"Everybody's Changing" - Keane

Heading out with y friend Matt when we came to the top of the stairs and looking down I realized I was in a complete state of Deja-Vu and experiencing the rush of an onslaught of dreams I have been having recently...dreams of stairs. I hadn't remembered them until this very moment. Heady stuff. Looking up dreams about stairs when I returned home yielded some interesting results. "Stairs represent transition, change, and personal growth. When we use them, we make direct contact with our feet. This makes them symbolic of change on a very specific, personal level. Climbing up stairs should be interpreted as ascending to higher levels of consciousness. Going down stairs connects to revisiting places you have already been or moving into lower levels of thought, such as anger and envy, or facing your own emotional development by revisiting old issues."

How does consciousness ever begin? How could that possibly occur? And is that question any less enigmatic than trying to figure how it might arise at a later date? Is consciousness synonymous with everything? - Robert Lanza / Bob Berman

"Museums are managers of consciousness. They give us an interpretation of history, of how to view the world and locate ourselves in it."
"Los museos son gerentes del conocimiento. Estos nos dan una interpretación de la historia, de como ver al mundo y ubicarnos en él."
