Welcome to Grand Turk Island!!! I'm not a big fan of these ports in that they have very little to do with island culture and more to do with spending money in the "Cruise Village" constructed just for that purpose, Beach Massage anyone? On the other hand, the local culture seems to have something to do with very large salt pools where salt is evaporated from sea water. I could have watched those pools evaporate all day long but I seemed to be the only one interested and they did smell a bit!!! Grand Turk did gain international attention in 1962 when John Glenn's Friendship 7 Mercury spacecraft landed off the southeast shoreline. I think the island is also known for the fishing. As for our group, we did what I love to do, go snorkeling away from the crowds and that was good enough.
For your listening pleasure may I recommend Heaven by the Talking Heads:

signs of life, of the existence of human beings. Signs of a conquest, a construction, of another time and of another life.
Signs that no one can erase ... Signs that resist here.

[ENG] The Palacio de Carlos V is a controversial and misunderstood monument located in the Alhambra next to the Nasrid Palaces. It is often presented as an attempt to destroy the Muslim past of insensitive Spanish monarchs, although history shows the value of the symbol they gave to the conquest of Granada and their intention to reinforce the sense of capital by establishing their residence in the Alhambra. It was built at the southern end of the Patio de los Arrayanes, and for its construction the pavilion opposite the Comares tower was demolished. It was projected by Pedro Machuca as a square 63 meters on each side with a circular patio inscribed in its interior of 30 meters in diameter, an unprecedented arrangement in Renaissance architecture. It consists of two floors and its height is 17 m. Its construction began in 1527, was slowed down several times, and was definitively interrupted in 1637 with walls and vaults completed due to lack of water cover. The works were completed in 1930. Since 1958, the palace has been the headquarters of the Museum of Fine Arts of Granada, and since 1994 also the Museum of the Alhambra. More photos in the album Palacio de Carlos V.
"Spain invades the CEC. In alliance with UAF and its allies RNS has begun its invasion of CEC. It starts its attack on the south-western border of the territory. The CEC slightly weakened from months of war and Spain goes full force into the land.
All of this happening in response to the conflict between NSA and UAF. Spain says it will support UAF through its campaign and intends to do what it can to help.
RNS has also sent troops to UAF territory in hopes to help strengthen their own homeland from invasion.
Now for a commercial break.... Join us next as we discuss Spain's victory in Mexico!"
Just for fun. :)

Here is possibly my last Galactic Conquest scene, I won last round on Coruscant so I got to choose Naboo which i did so so that I could try some new techniques and try something that I normally wouldn't build.
I'm fairly pleased with the outcome of the scene, sadly there are a few things that bug me, like the fact that I ran out of sand orange which I would have liked to do both of the buildings with, however that wasn't possible. I've been pretty busy with school so I ended up leaving this to the last minute and building most of it last night which meant that i rushed it in some parts, however I'm still happy with how it turned out.
If this is the last round of the contest I'd just l like to thank TRLegosfan for hosting a great contest. There have been some great builds and scenes and I congratulate everyone who has participated and with you the best of luck. This contest has pushed me to try new things that I normally wouldn't even attempt which is great, and I think that in the past 2 and a half months I have developed as a scene builder even more.
-Thanks Tristan

It was when setting up this image that I realised the tripod I had then and the ball head was just not much help.
I ended up with a Benro geared head and Benro tripod.
