Amsterdam Light Festival
Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual light art festival in Amsterdam. Artists, architects and (light) designers from all over the world bring their light artworks and installations alive during the festival every winter.
Edition #12 is from 30 November 2023 till 21 January 2024. More than twenty light artworks will illuminate the iconic canals of Amsterdam. For Amsterdam Light Festival 2023-2024 we have asked artists to consider the effects of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) on our everyday lives. The ways in which we communicate, engage and create are all impacted by technology and AI. What is the impact on the human condition? How does society change because of this digital evolution? And where are the boundaries? The different perspectives will be highlighted during Edition 12, with the theme: LOADING… Revealing Art, AI and Tech.
The route consists of more than twenty light artworks by the hand of international artists. From renowned names to surprising newcomers and everything in between. We dive deeper into our relationship with personal tech, the mobile phone being at the forefront – we cannot live without it, but sometimes you wish you could throw it in the canal. Subjects such as swarm intelligence, self learning algorithms, facial recognition and motion capture are also explored. What will be next? That is still loading…

Be ur own judge. Sure is simplicity yet looking could cause eye bordering to some but bothering no one depend on our connection n distraction of ones current composure.. A stage that deter each mind unequally. Would a static wire ruin one brain ? what cause it….?

A visit to Bournemouth's Hurn Airport back in July 1990 found these two loosely connected 'transports'.
With her three red painted fins, Flight One's Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer G-BWCF is seen arriving there.
Designed for extremely Short take-off and Landing (STOL) Jungle and Desert strips, the Twin Pioneer excelled themselves in Borneo and Aden when serving with RAF Transport Command.
When retired from service several found their way into civil use. Based at Staverton, Flight One used the 'Twin Pin' for aerial survey work where it was ideally suited as a stable platform for aerial photography.
Unfortunately it's transit speed between sites was so slow and their reliance on the fast disappearing AvGas, this outfit didn't last long.
In the foreground is a French Air Force C.160 Transall R.158 61-ZX. Rolls-Royce Tyne powered Transalls were built by a French/German partnership and have reliably served both of their Air Arms since the late 1960's.
Now in the twilight of their years, ultimately they are being replaced by the new Airbus A400M Grizzly now coming on stream.

Show me "close connection" or "solidarity". I choose paper clips for the realization. I never thought that its so difficult to get a good picture. What background? Light? You see every finger touch. The colours are not so much and so on. Sensitively world.

My name there is "alles-schlumpf".
Three rather indistinct vehicles at Yeovil bus station on 17th Sep 2020.
First 42954 WX06OML is still defiantly wearing its Urban livery and Solent fleetname after 18 months in Yeovil, and began life in Bristol, working at all three depots before heading to Hampshire, at Southampton and then Fareham punctuated by a spell in Weymouth.
Similarly, 44920 YX09AHG was at First Cymru and was at Hengrove depot in Bristol before it headed to Bath and then Hampshire (albeit in Portsmouth) before a spell in Cornwall where it gained green colours before a move to Yeovil.
The Cornish connection is more tenuous with SWC WK11APU, which has a Kernow registration and with its green LED signifies an early life with Western Greyhound.
UP ES44AC #7949, SD70M #4936 pause for a moment with UP train IDULB-10 as the train comes off the BSNF (ex-Frisco) Cuba Sub and back onto the UP (ex-MoPac) Jefferson City Sub through the seldom used connection track in Pacific, MO on June 10, 2015.
Union Pacific trains were using a detoured routing from Saint Louis to Pacific, MO due to a derailment of grain train GMDM3A-07 the previous day caused a shut down of the Union Pacific Jefferson City Sub.

This is the daughter of one of my best friends. We grew up in the same region and went to schools in the same town, but didn't know each other until we lived at college together at uni in Brisbane. It is always so good to catch up - it may be many years since we lived near each other, but when we do get together, those years melt away...
But this photo represents so much more than that. This photo represents all those friendships and relationships I have from my days at school and uni and beyond. It represents all my family, immediate and extended. It represents the people who have been in my life significantly in one way or another, but now live a distance apart. We might not get to see each other as often as I would like, but when we do.....well, everything is right and life is perfect.

I heard today that the airline is due to cease operations within the next two weeks due to the impact of the current Coronavius outbreak - the world felt a very different place when I took this shot less than two months ago...
