This red-winged blackbird was mesmerized by this woman. They were gazing at each other for a long time and he stayed close.

This abstract multiple exposure image comprises three overlayed images: a macro of a circuit board, an integrated circuit, and wiring from an underground station in London.
Having just attended a funeral of a friend, my mind was drawn to the connections, interactions, relationships, and friendships we make during our life's journey, making a rich tapestry of experience, learning, memories, and satisfactions.
My first double exposure on a shoot. I've always loved how tree branches look like reverse lightning, or the capillaries of the heart.
The hummingbird feeder has a nice connection to the post hook. Gravity makes it an easy and effective connection.
Oh look, there's a hummingbird now :-)
We see quite a few hummingbirds this time of year and really enjoy watching their activity.

Walking past a commercial fishing boat on the Sheboygan River this configuration caught my eye. I am totally clueless as to the function of this equipment. Mechanical things have often remained mysteries to me.
the lightning bolt created by a finger on a plasma ball.
A plasma globe or plasma lamp (also called plasma ball, dome, sphere, tube or orb, depending on shape) is (usually) a clear glass sphere filled with a mixture of various noble gases with a high-voltage electrode in the center of the sphere.
Plasma filaments extend from the inner electrode to the outer glass insulator, giving the appearance of multiple constant beams of colored light (see corona discharge and electric glow discharge).
The plasma lamp was invented by Nikola Tesla, during his experimentation with high-frequency currents in an evacuated glass tube for the purpose of studying high voltage phenomena. Tesla called his invention an "inert gas discharge tube". The modern plasma lamp design was subsequently developed by Bill Parker, a student at MIT.

This seastack along the Yesnaby Coastal Path has not yet fully separated from the adjacent cliff face.
My research into locations to visit during our full day on Orkney indicated this seaside trail featured a sea stack ... and we saw two actually. This was our last stop for the day and did not disappoint.
A quick description of the connections between the various parts of the trailer. The trailer can be used in two different configurations. In the video I refer to the swan neck, which should be called a goose neck. Got my birds all mixed up, oh the joys of getting older.😂😂 Thanks to Enya for filming.
Flavia Coelho in action at the O2 ABC as part of this year's Celtic Connections Festival.
I first saw her perform at WOMAD 2013.

The bridge that you see in the image is the Marcelo B. Fernan Bridge. It was named after a famous political figure in the Philippines, Senator Marcelo Fernan, who resided in Cebu during his term. This bridge connects Mactan Island to mainland Cebu and has a length of 1,237 meters. With the help of Japanese government, this bridge was constructed and finally opened to public on August 1999 to ease up congestion on the old bridge that connects the two islands for several years now.
The boat caught my eye as several decades ago, when building a bridge between the two islands had not been realized, boats were used to transport people from Mactan island to mainland Cebu and vise versa. But nowadays, with the bridge deployed, this banca has now of little importance in terms of transporting people between these two islands. Though some still uses them or its motorized version to cross, I believe. I was just lucky here to be able to capture both the "old" and the "new" technology/way of transporting people between islands.
