“Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.” August Wilson

Unfortunately many New Yorkers have had the experience of being approached by a stranger, sometimes pitiful looking sometimes acting in an intimidating or bizarre way, who stops them to ask for money. Knowing when to make, and when to avoid making, eye contact becomes instinctual . So when, confronted by a man dancing in the middle of the street , the two women in this photo have unsurprisingly chosen to try to ignore him and act as if he was invisible. Unsurprising and understandable, but it's also real shame .

Yes, Dancing Machine #1 is out on the street trying to make some money but he is also offering something valuable in return , a performance that he has invested a lot of time, energy and even some money of his own to create. At a minimum , he’s bought a very good sound system, found and then arranged the music that accompanies his dancing, practiced and then organized his dancing moves into a coherent and very pleasing show. The end result deserves, I think, to be seen as Dancing Man #1’s own form of street art. That his audience is often unresponsive, indifferent or uncomprehending should come as no surprise to any artist, least of all to those of us who are street photographers

Daredevil has always had a very special place in my heart, whether it's the Netflix show or the character himself. So finally seeing him on the big screen in No Way Home was a dream come true!

It was that moment that drove me to build this MOC, also thank god we finally have an official Daredevil figure! Hope you enjoy, more detailed photos soon

For millennia, the Ducican Kingdom has flourished under the rule of the Waterthorne royal family. Following the end of a civil war a few decades ago between the seven different houses united under this kingdom, there has not been any conflict in years.

But it seems like the peace has come to an end.

Ever since the current queen banished her son Jilan Waterthorne from the kingdom, things have been shaky. Jilan has struck a deal with an old enemy of hers, and the two have been gathering an army to take over control of the throne. Despite her staying confident that the two won’t pose an actual threat, the entire kingdom is able to see almost the entire royal guard getting killed in a siege with the enemy.

-The villains

Zardica: Once a loyal advisor who worked right alongside the Queen of Ducican, now a dark Sorcerer with an intense hatred for the royal family after an unknown event split the two apart. Following years of intense studying into Dark Magic, her once beautiful skin has now turned almost completely pitch black.

Jilan Waterthorne: For years, Jilan was seen as a worthy successor to the throne of Ducican. But his entire reputation fell apart on the night that he attempted to murder his own mother and current queen of the kingdom, Meyse Waterthorne under the point of view that his mother had ruled for long enough. After a lengthy trial, his mother decides to banish her son from the kingdom for good. Without any food or money, Jilan gets put outside the walls of the kingdom and is left wandering in the dark forests for days on end. This ends when he meets a dark Sorcerer named Zardica who holds an equally big grudge against the queen of Ducican. She strikes a deal with Jilan, where on the condition that she will get complete access to the countless magic artifacts stored in the vaults under the Waterthorne castle she is willing to help the Paladin take over the throne.

-The heroes

Sodma Longclaw: A Tabaxi Fighter, who after the tragic death of her family during the civil war ended up as a refugee in Ducican. Despite her species often being looked down on by most citizens of the kingdom, she was eventually taken in by an old material arts teacher who taught her how to defend herself with the use of a scimitar. Years later, following the murder of her teacher by an unknown assasin, Sodma decided to venture outside the walls of Ducican to take revenge for her mentor.

Telthryl: A Dwarf who spent most of his life in the mines under Ducican as a miner until a few years ago. One day, while Telthryl was mining for valuable ores in the mines, he accidentally discovered a cave with a dragon sleeping in it. After further mining woke the beast up, the dragon went on a rampage through the mines resulting in the death of every single one of Telthryl’s fellow mineworkers. Hellbent on avenging his fallen comrades, he abandoned his profession and taught himself how to use a big double-sided axe. Upon returning to the caves and confronting the dragon, he was able to become one of the first people to single-handedly take down a dragon in years. Following this achievement, Telthryl became a Barbarian and made it his profession to take down dangerous creatures.

Katjasik Hallowridge: A Human Bard who values music over everything. Despite being raised in a family filled with famous Clerics, Katjasik had more interest in the magic of music. After discovering an old musical instrument in the cellar of the Hallowridge mansion, he decided to pursue a future in studying music. His parents were far from happy with this decision though; after a heated argument about him not becoming a Cleric like all of his ancestors, he got kicked out of the house. Despite him having to sleep on the streets for a while, eventually he found a lot of success in performing in local bars for money. After learning how to use his music to cast spells too, he joined up with Telthryl and Sodma to form a ragtag group of mercenaries.

Following the defeat of the royal army, the queen of Ducican has no choice but to ask for mercenaries to defeat the evil forces. The group who succeeds in doing so, will be rewarded with a third of the queen’s wealth. Because this reward is one too big to pass up on, Somda, Telthryl and Katjasik decide to take on the task together.

Will these three brave heroes be able to stop Zardica and Jilan from taking over the kingdom? Only time will tell.

A atrium designed by Michael Graves serves as a connection point for several pre-existing buildings. Graves has woven them together in an attractive and creative way.

Working on a budget vinyl floors were used in place of marble, stucco in place of stone but the effect is rich and elegant.

As many of you know I love Castle building, it's so easy to pack in detail with that theme, which is why it's one of my favourite things to do when building. So Castle and Marvel in the one vig? Why not! I've had the Doom figure lying around since I bought the set it came in, so what's that... 2013? Man 5 years now. Anyway yes super glad I finally got to use this figure in a MOC. For me collecting figs is fun, it's nice to have them sure, but it's only worth it when I can put them in a MOC. So I used this MOC as a way to display some other figs that I have yet to come up with concepts for MOC's to put them in. The Sentry figure is from bigkidbrix, if you are wondering ;)

But yeah, love building throne rooms like this, makes me want to do more, it was great fun to combine two of my favourite themes in the one vig like this. Would love to do it again!

" Un et un à présent ça fait deux avant ça ne faisait qu’un " : Charles Ferdinand Ramuz ~ Adam et Eve

Un titre utilisé pour une performance réalisée par Marie-France & Patricia MARTIN

à Anvers en 1999.

“I confront the city with my body; my legs measure the length of the arcade and the width of the square; my gaze unconsciously projects my body onto the facade of the cathedral, where it roams over the mouldings and contours, sensing the size of recesses and projections; my body weight meets the mass of the cathedral door, and my hand grasps the door pull as I enter the dark void behind. I experience myself in the city, and the city exists through my embodied experience. The city and my body supplement and define each other. I dwell in the city and the city dwells in me.”

Recreation of one my favorite star wars concept arts, a tribute to Ralph McQuarrie's work. A shot I had in mind for a long time.. Purist MOC minifigs. Will be happy for any feedback and comments.

"Deak Starkiller’s confrontation with Darth Vader showcases the sheer size of the villain, who completely dwarfs his opponent. McQuarrie’s interpretation of the villain’s presence even makes the ship surrounding him feel smaller. In later drafts, Starkiller became Skywalker, but this image shows that both characters utilized breathing apparatuses to make transitioning from ship to ship a much easier process. The look of Starkiller was heavily changed, but other than rounding out some sharper angles, this image represented Vader so powerfully that very little modifications were necessary to bring him to life on screen." - starwars.com

#1 Sometimes (no ALWAYS) I find myself in situations were I need to change lenses as I'm a poor artist and don't have 3 bodies to go with my 3 lenses...I need to know how best to safely clean my sensor and the interior (PLUS the glass at the top of my camera, above the view glass, does that affect the image if dirty?)

#2 so, how do we protect our images when confronting the elements...when aging eyesight and a tiny viewscreen doesn't allow one to see the 'specs' that ruin our efforts?

SO, all you wizards, what's the solution?....

my subjects don't sit well as they either blow sand, water or wind on me causing a problem with my equipment and images such as noted in the lighthouses which I took after this series...

Future Ethics: Climate Change and Apocalyptic Imagination, edited by Stefan Skrimshire

"How are ideas and beliefs about the future shaping political action on climate change? Future Ethics tackles this question comprehensively for the first time. Drawing on a wide range of disciplines, the concepts of apocalypse, crisis and the future are brought to bear on contemporary attitudes and practices. Does the reporting of impending (or passing) tipping points in global warming renew a spirit of resistance or a new fatalism? How is the future of the human species really imagined in society and how does this affect our sense of ethical responsibility to others and to the environment? Can religious or spiritual narratives influence our commitment to the future? This collection of essays from leading thinkers on climate change will be an indispensible guide to the underpinning philosophical questions facing activists, policy makers and students confronting the greatest challenges to our future."

The book is released early summer 2010
