After a number of consecutive days of beautiful weather causing my attention to be drawn to the canoe, I decided to put on the hiking boots before my legs atrophied further, and was confronted by a vast array of wildflowers whose seasons this year seem to be overlapping and extended more so than in previous years. While the anemones are gone and the asters are yet to appear, everything else seems to be thriving comfortably together.
One of those plants that I have come to always look for and shown here is the maidenstears (Silene vulgaris), its botanical name ironic in that its soft, fragile, low-lying and less common appearance is far less vulgar than its straggly cousin the white campion (Silene latifolia). The campions are easily identifiable by the very unique bladder. Another of the amazing number of non-native flowers which have somehow invaded the US to be labeled invasive weeds.
Yes, I am still confronting our huge and serious problems of today that we seem to want to ignore and yet which are real and are effecting our daily lives. We must address climate change and admit that it is we who are creating it and do something about it. Or are we just going to wait until it is too late???

Varanasi, India, located on the banks of the river Ganges is one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities, and one of the holiest in Hinduism.
Pilgrims come to the Ganges to wash away sins in the sacred waters, to cremate their loved ones, or simply to die here, hoping for liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
Most visitors agree Varanasi is magical – but not for the faint-hearted. Intimate rituals of life and death take place in public, and the sights, sounds and smells of the maze-like old town – not to mention almost constant attention from touts – can be intense. Still, the so-called City of Light is one of the most colorful and fascinating places on earth.
Strolling the Ghats or watching sunrise from a boat on the Ganges are a highlight, and confronting the reality and ritual of death can be a powerful experience. (Lonely Planet)

"I thought you wanted me to. I mean I thought I was doing what you wanted me to. You... you know and... and... and we don't even have to. My cab is ready. I can just leave and we can always meet later. Just, just call. OK? I'm staying with Phil. You have his number, don't you? You do. You do. Call and we'll meet... where... wherever... you want. It's really all up to you. That might even be better. Anything. I... I... I don't know. I... I... I don't, I don't mind really. Whatever. I mean you call and let me know. I'll stay with Phil a few days. I'll let you know... where... where I'd go after. You want me to. Right? I mean I know, I know you want that. That's what we need. That's what we should do. Hey, what do you say? Huh? Isn't that better? I thought we'd go out for lunch today but that's all right. You stay in. Do whatever and we'll meet again. Just call, just..."

He put the package down. First, he looked around the room and considered the console. It was a bit far. He had to walk all the length of the room. Coffee table was busy. That coffee table never had any room for anything. He could just leave it there where he was on the floor. He could do that. Why can't he just put it on the floor? Just there, right where he's standing, beside his feet. He could do that.

Thanks to everyone who has visited. A confronting photo for some people. I appreciate very much the kind comments and faves which have been left.
A huntsman spider, probably Heteropoda jugulans. Male and female huntsman spiders are similar in size with the males having longer legs and females slightly bigger bodies. Actually, I am not sure whether this is a male or female. Unlike many spiders, the males do not risk being eaten after mating. Some species of huntsman spiders live in colonies. Normally, huntsman spiders are nocturnal. However, this spider was out in the afternoon. It has eight eyes. The upper four appear closed. Perhaps it was squinting because of the bright light.
For the Macro Mondays theme "Inspired by a Song". The song I chose is "Boris the Spider" by the Who. Perhaps a slightly larger spider than the Who had in mind but definitely a little creepy. The spider was on a variegated bromeliad leaf in my garden and was left undisturbed after being photographed. Huntsman spiders can also be found indoors.
Macrophotography has made me appreciate what a diverse and fascinating group of animals that spiders are.

Boris the Spider by The Who
Look, he's crawling up my wall
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor
Boris the spider
Boris the spider
Creepy, crawly

Confronted again by old nemesis, the wind. It was a dark, dark night with the lighthouse beams only darkening the almost-pitch black area.
On a previous visit I had slipped in some mud and messed up my hand, thereby ending the evening. I was a little more careful this time, although the gusts of wind threatened to push me off the cliffs a number of times.
Heading back to the car, now completely windswept, we noticed that the previously empty car park had another car in it. Not the doggers again! Seems like everywhere I go there are mysterious cars just waiting... watching...

I let out my blind dog Cinnamon and was standing around the corner of the house from her. I heard her barking. Thinking she was barking at the neighbors, I went to tell her to stop and met this fellow. She was confronting him as he ate my oak leaf hydrangea bushes.

Very territorial little Lizard. He spotted me a long way off and ran to confront me. Immediately challenge me to a contest of pushups. He did about 45 or more in just a few seconds. I said "Okay Pal, you win. No contest." Feeling superior now, he hopped up on a rock about 6 feet away, and proceeded to challenge me once again, but this time did about 75, and waited for a response. I straightaway turned and walked away, in absolute defeat.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️
