A good start for a new 2022 year! A bit nostalgic build, because it's actually an updated version of one MOC of mine originally builded for a Megabricks Festival (Moscow, Russia) back in 2015. Unfortunally I never had a chance to take a good shot of that model, so in the end of 2021 I decided to build a remake of it from scratch. So, here is a result!

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Moving quickly through the scene, this man looks straight down the barrel of my lens and shouts at me to "Wait!". Instinctively I had already pressed the shutter button and heard a few choice words mumbled in my direction as he hurried off as quickly as he had appeared. Quite a striking shot with the motion blur just emphasising his emotion in this. Wishing you all a great weekend ahead.

On Thursday 4th October 2018, the first train of the day on the Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn "Molli", the 06:40 Kühlungsborn West to Bad Doberan, hauled by 2-8-2 tank 99 2322-8, is in conflict with an early-morning supermarket delivery truck on the Molli Strasse street running section in Bad Doberan town.

Excerpt from www.oakvillegalleries.com/exhibitions/details/228/Sascha-...:

Sascha Braunig's paintings and drawings are exercises in colour, form, and illusion. Citing an artistic lineage that stretches from the Pictures Generation through to the Chicago Imagists and horror-movie practical effects, her sometimes barbed, tubular, netted, or neon-lit forms speak of many of the tensions of the current moment, such as being a subject within the grid of digital or gender systems.

In this exhibition, which stretches over both Oakville Galleries sites, the Canada-born, US-based artist brings together new and recent works that are based on the compositional motif of figures engaged in conflict with a dress-like structure. These works use material qualities to analogize an immaterial idea: the feeling of struggling with a system more powerful than you, in which you are also deeply entangled.

Braunig builds and uses three-dimensional models as visual aids in the making of her work, some of which are included in the exhibition. Because of this observational painting practice, she sees her work as being linked to the academic nineteenth-century painter's use of the “lay figure," a jointed doll, not quite to-scale, that artists used as a stand-in for a live model in the studio. The exhibition's title, Lay Figure, refers to this historical practice, but Braunig extends its meaning to the schematic wiry figure that recurs in her recent work. Here she imagines the lay figure coming into a life of its own, squirming to free itself from rigid systems and resisting its status as the inanimate muse in patriarchal painting's history.

Seneca, South Carolina is not normally where one expects to see a pair of huge bronze statues of long ago soldiers next to a loading zone behind a strip mall! Greek? Roman? Trojans? I have no idea which army they represent, who made them, or why they’re guarding the loading zone.

Second Baptist Church in Heath Springs, South Carolina in 2016. It .was located at 4837 Kershaw Camden Hwy, Heath Springs, SC 29058. It was founded in 1964. I found conflicting information online whether the church was is still operating or not.

After a long break from building, a trip to BrickFair Virginia and other conventions and places, here I am to present my latest Clone Wars era build within the urban areas of Batuu.

I wanted to go for something totally different from what I’ve done in the past in terms of building a Star Wars MOC. Watching a mix of different films such as 13 Hours, American Sniper and The Clone Wars of course got me inspired to do a military operation within a urban landscape. The inclusion of Dark Red, Tan and Dark Orange colors make up for some interesting styled buildings. Especially the ruined one on the bottom right.

I’d of course appreciate a like, a follow and of course your thoughts below on the build.

Bunia, Ituri District, DR Congo

21 November 2012

Its difficult to say something about this photo. Difficult to describe anything. If you are aware of the history of DR Congo then you already know about it.

For me, it was a rare opportunity to witness and experience such incident. I was standing about a meter back from this fire and was seeing what they were doing. I dont know much about the reasons of their fury upon UN (More specially MONUSCO) but i understood, they aren't happy with what UN doing here. I dont know how long this will take to bring peace over here. All i know is, this isnt the way to bring peace here. Neither the guns nor the stones and bricks are the solution of this crisis.

Whatever it takes, we all want it to end. We want peace.

Street and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland. The March Against Racism rally in the city was joined by, what I understand to be, an unsanctioned Pro-Palestine rally. Tensions boiled when a Pro-Israeli demonstration turned up. After a short sit-down protest in the middle of the street, the two groups were carefully separated by the massive police presence in town.

how to deal with all that conflicts in the world?

A large and conspicuous waterbird, the cormorant has an almost primitive appearance with its long neck making it appear reptilian.

It is often seen standing with its wings held out to dry.

Regarded by some as black, sinister and greedy, cormorants are supreme fishers which can bring them into conflict with anglers and they have been persecuted in the past.

Mandalas are commonly used by tantric Buddhists as an aid to meditation.

The mandala is "a support for the meditating person",[18] something to be repeatedly contemplated to the point of saturation, such that the image of the mandala becomes fully internalised in even the minutest detail and can then be summoned and contemplated at will as a clear and vivid visualized image. With every mandala comes what Tucci calls "its associated liturgy [...] contained in texts known as tantras",[19] instructing practitioners on how the mandala should be drawn, built and visualised, and indicating the mantras to be recited during its ritual use.

The Great Northern War was a conflict fought in the baltic region, primarily between the Swedish Empire, The Dano-Norwegian realm, Poland-Lithuania, and the Russia Empire from 1700-1721.

The Battle of Lesnaya was one of fiercest and larger battles of the Great Northern War. It was between a force of Russians numbering 26,500-29,000, and a Swedish detachment of around 12,500. The Swedish force was carrying relief supplies, which was carried by 4,500 wagons, for the main Swedish force deep in the heart of Russia. The two opposing forces finally came to a standstill and clashed at the outskirts of the village of Lesnaya.

After 8 hours of heavy fighting, neither side achieved an obvious victory. However, the Russians had crippled and slowed the Swedish reinforcements. As a result, this action is seen as the turning point of the war. With Charles the XII’s army rearing from defeat and not recieving desperately needed supplies, it was only a matter of time.
