The lunch tables were arranged so we visitors got to chat with students and junior staff. All three students at our table turned out to be Computer Science majors--but were surprisingly diverse.
Rock--Yuren Pang--is from Beijing. He learned from me that there'd been a Chinese student on campus in the early '80s; I'd forgot the man's name, but we'd had adjacent rooms in our dorm. 'Twas an interesting chat.
Another of the students was from Hanoi. The third had some acquaintance with Kalamazoo, which gave us something to talk about.
Like many people, I dislike public speaking. I admire people who do it well, and it bothers me that I don't.
At NELA2007, I was asked to introduce Lichen Rancourt and Jay Rancourt speaking about Scriblio, and I'm afraid I did a bad job. Luckily, they more than made up for my poor showing with a great presentation.
Pardon my reposting of this info if you've seen it:
I entered a contest for images of self run by Artists Wanted. Please consider rating my portfolio (NSFW) at the site by clicking the 5 stars? You don't need to register and you can come and vote every day if you are so inclined. There is a "People's Choice" award and I could win money that I could really use.
It takes 2 seconds, promise! Yes, I'm begging. Please and thank you. xo
... Hours pass,
And all the salesmen have gone back to Leeds,
Leaving full ashtrays in the Conference Room.
(Larkin, of course, at his bleak best.)
Thinking about it, though, it could have been salesmen, but equally, the dejected attendees at another speed awareness course.
Marina, my boss's 2 year old, is a bit obsessed with soap. She loves to wash her hands and she now likes to walk around with and play with those dishwasher tabs.
After pushing the soap in the stroller and putting it down for a nap, I suggested that we take a picture of the soap.
Why not?

Creating images to tell a story... not just for you, but also for 45th President of the United States of America too.
Outside of some slight high pass sharpen....this is untouched. Guess the sharpening made the noise WORSE. Ugh.
A sad meeting.
Last November 15 Joan's family met at the funeral home, where they basically verified a plan Joan and Edna had agreed to in August.
Since we were there I took a few pictures of Dewitt; one of those became my daily project image. I rarely visit downtown Dewitt, but last year I took photos there four times: In February, August, this trip, and another visit in November.
After the meeting everyone gathered at the farm, where we searched for a couple necessary documents. While we were sorting through Thelma's files we found a lifetime of interesting things. Those cheered everyone up.

Is there a group about this gross male habit of urinating in public about 5m away from a toilet?! you are welcome to feature this document there.
This light in the law office's large conference room is terrible. It doesn't put off much light to see, but to look at it (and it's almost impossible NOT to look at it because it's really interesting) is BLINDING. What is this magic??

Next month will be one year since I say in this seat of the conference room for my interview.
Today’s felt like it wouldn’t end at work. There was an issue with something from a coworker so I had to wait for them to come back after closing before I could finish my part. Then, while at Walmart, that took forever, and so on. Steve is doing alright with recovery. Pain seems to be up and down, but he’s got to stay moving so he doesn’t seize up.

Today I spent the entire day in a conference room testing for HHonors Requal. We need to keep our Diamond members happy. Right Matt?
I'm pushing for votes hardcore now. You can vote once every 24 hours and all you have to do is click the 5th star (I just discovered that some folks were rating me 1 star by accident because it kinda looks like you need to fill in all the stars! You don't. LOL)
No need to register. There's a certain fellow 365er from the original group who is kicking my ass and I'm determined to catch up, dammit! :-)
Also? I've decided if I win the popular vote or the whole thing (a girl can dream, can't she?), then I am donating HALF OF THE MONEY to CHARITY. I'm still narrowing down which one, but am strongly considering The Children's Health Fund.
Please keep rating! Thank you so much!! xoxo
Rockefeller University knows the value of collaboration, and united two independent buildings into its Collaborative Research Center by building a core between them. This shot shows one of the areas for that purpose. Lab heads' offices are also placed so as to create awareness of others' presence and promote spontaneous conversations.
