I've just blogged this photoshoot with Sage. Lots of background detail, I typed up a storm! And of course extra shots. About 10 plus some 'proof' images no one has seen other than myself and Sage! It's called 'The Art of Collaboration' - not a title I take lightly! I go into details about the location, styling, directing and lighting - fashionphotographysydney.blogspot.com/2019/12/the-art-of-...

Hope you like it.

My favorite quote from this chapter: Don't sue me sis'.

p-мinusTen Nine Eight Seven Six Five Four Three Two ∞ One

Good morninggggg pimp fans! Everyone please give a warm welcome to special guest speaker Sherlock Fedora. Detective Fedora, who has come all the way from Scotland to speak for us, will be initiating number 7 of the p-мinus countdown.

It is simplicity itself... My eyes tell me that you are on picture number 359. Obviously there is a state of confusion among this online community being that today’s date is May 26th, 2010. Yet this very picture of the man with the fedora hat and it’s odd reflection was taken on November 30th, 2009. Hence, you see, my initial double deduction is that you had cheated us when this picture did not get posted that same day. But your method of waiting almost 6 full months has proven wisely dear boy.

Elementary, my dear pimp!

--

Holy shit! I’ve turned my fedora into a top hat. In the reflection at least.

I think I own like 6 or 7 fedoras, and I’m always looking to add to my collection. Before I started this project, I only owned one. Quickly I began to realize that fedoras, or more specifically brimmed hats, make for fucking excellent self-portraits.

On most days, I would have a pack of smokes and at least 2 or 3 different fedoras with me in my car as the bare minimum ensemble to take my daily shot. In the colder months, I also brought several suit coat jackets just so I could mix’n’match. And there were other on the fly variables that I could change out in seconds with me at all times like type of eyewear, a different t-shirt, etc.

But no accessory really can even come close to the fedora in terms of transforming me back and forth day after day. It adds this element of inscrutability to a photo that is unmet without it.

You know I used to call them “old man hats” when I was younger. Does this mean I am an old man now? I found a couple grey hairs in my hair the other day. Unlike the formally mentioned slight wrinkles, I actually got a little excited about the grey hairs. Not really sure why, but I was.

The shot at hand? I had planned on taking one of my 365 day shots in this conference room with that radical table during the whole project. With only a couple days left, I knew I had to finally bang it out if I wanted that idea to ensue. So I grabbed the babe and went to the office late at night and snapped a few shots. The crazy whacked out reflection effect was thought of during post-edit.

The Shanghai World Financial Center, located in the Pudong district of Shanghai, is the highest skyscraper of China with its 492 meters. At the top of the building, a bridge of 55 meters stretched over an empty space of several floors gives the tower a shape of a huge bottle-opener and is a panoramic observation platform (100th floor, 474 meters).

The Cabinet Secretariat in the bunker is adjacent to the War Cabinet Room. This would have been the office for almost two dozen staff from the Privy Council Secretariat, the Treasury Board Secretariat, and the Prime Minister’s Office. During a nuclear attack, the individuals working here would provide briefings and support to the government representatives assembled in the massive underground bunker. The Secretariat would also coordinate the flow of information between the War Cabinet and various government departments.

Park Tower (formerly known as the Lykes Building) is a skyscraper located in downtown Tampa, Florida. It is Tampa's first high-rise tower. At the time of its completion in November 1973, it was the tallest in Florida, and is currently sixth-tallest in Tampa, at 458 feet (36 stories). It was the tallest building in Tampa until One Tampa City Center was built in 1981.

Park Tower is located in the heart of downtown Tampa directly across from The Tampa Riverwalk & Hillsborough River; Curtis Hixon and Gaslight Parks; the Glazer Children's Museum and the Tampa Museum of Art. It is within walking distance of the Tampa Convention Center, University of Tampa, and the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.

In 2016 the tower was purchased by a joint venture consisting of affiliates of NYSE listed City Office REIT (NYSE: CIO), Feldman Equities LLC, and Tower Realty Partners for $79.75 million. The group completed a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2019. The most significant change at Park Tower is the modernization of the office building's façade by painting the exterior a lighter color and upgrading the main entrance. The building's amenities were upgraded with a modern lobby and the addition of Buddy Brew Coffee café. The office tower's updated design was created by internationally renowned architect Gensler.

Since acquiring the property, new leases have been signed including the headquarters relocation of CAPTRUST Advisors, LLC, Buddy Brew Coffee and Continuity Logic, LLC. Anchor tenants include BB&T, United States Department of Justice – US Attorney's Office, Level 3 Communications and Lykes Insurance.

Park Tower is LEED EB Gold Certified and EPA Energy Star certified.

The tower's amenities include FedEx Office, U.S. Post Office, BB&T Bank, Grow Financial Credit Union, Pearl Salon, Nature's Table Café, a fitness center, conference room and a 6th-floor tenant lounge, lobby concierge and Buddy Brew Coffee.

Park Tower is the "Telco-Hotel" for the region, with a major telephony and internet presence.

The building has two underground 13.2kV electrical feeds from the utility power company, one of which is from the high-priority medical grid and multiple diverse entry points for fiber optic and other data cabling. Park Tower is home to a large underground Federal Reserve Vault. The building also features video-enhanced 24x7x365 on-site security.

When it was originally built, the tower was the home of The First National Bank of Tampa, later First National Bank of Florida (First Florida Corporation). Park Tower was also the headquarters of the Lykes Brothers Corporation. The tower was purchased by Sterling American Property of New York City for $27.4 million in 2006 and underwent its first restoration including newly renovated elevators, air conditioning, and replacement of much of the electrical distribution system. The building later became the downtown Tampa headquarters of Colonial Bank, now BB&T. BB&T's sign is still featured on the top of the building.

PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

At least five people (the Governor General, Prime Minister, and three other ministers) were required to form the War Cabinet, although it was planned to be made up of 12 people. In an emergency these folks would have served as the legal government of Canada and would have met several times a day in this room to receive briefings from outside the bunker. With this information they could coordinate government activities and direct war efforts.

So... funny story. This majestic building at the center of the photograph is NOT a working church of any kind. It's a place called The Hub, and it can be rented for conferences and meetings.

On the one hand, what a cool space! On the other... I can't be the only one to find it really quite depressing.

New conference- and bonfire pavilions by C.F. Møller Architects, 2023

I shot this video back in November 2017, I like to see this vessel whenever she is in the harbour, always looks pristine and shiny , a hybrid ship that moves silently through the water, just a joy to watch , on this occasion she was berthed at Pocra Quay, her thrusters started and she manouvered to head across to Torry Quay.

I managed to catch this move until harbour security arrived to remind me I should not be over the boundary line at the gate four feet behind me, I apologised and left as I love capturing the ships and do not want to get on the wrong side of the harbour authorities.

Video shot on my iphone7plus in 4k, over 1.5gb in size and over 4 minutes long , I've had to edit it and speed it up by x4 to bring the viewing time down to just over a minute , replacing the sound track with waves crashing mp3 as the wind was heavy the day I recorded and ruins the viewing pleasure for me.

There is a enthusiastic photographer in this photo, look carefully for him .

Sun shone late into the evening 16/5/17, many photographers had arrived and positioned themselves to get their shots of Edda Ferd arriving into Aberdeen Harbour, as we all waited this photographers enthusiasm drew my attention, climbing over the fence on to Abercrombie Jetty he prepared to take his shots, would love to see the shots he took , anyways thought this was worth posting as it reflects the enthusiasm we all have when these magnificent vessels are available for photographers .

New conference- and bonfire pavilions by C.F. Møller Architects, 2023

While I’m sure a departure point for at least the moon, the rotating space station also seems to serve as a hotel, evidenced by the “bubble” scenes.

I’m guessing the weightless space suited folks (near/at the hub) are receiving instructions on how to conduct safe recreational EVAs. Although, I don’t understand the reason/benefit to conducting a meeting on-orbit, other than it being in a fraction of earth’s gravity. As such, less stressful? Maybe as a bennie to your top sales performers last quarter? Better chance for the firm to land the lucrative account in such an exotic environment?

Also, the externally protruding pod-like design of the vendor stations/kiosks seems a little odd. Although I suppose this design doesn’t take up precious interior walkway space & may actually have been a weight-saving measure during construction? Although I’d think it’s adding multiple unnecessary potential failure points…hmm.

Finally, it’s obviously borrowing from “2001: A Space Odyssey” and possibly “Star Trek”…based on those exploitative, voyeuristic & sexist mega-miniskirts! And of course, everyone's white. Circa 1971.
