On this particular day, the conditions were to say the least: pretty terrible... But taking pictures was made that much more interesting, thanks to the fog and crazy lighting.... There wasn't many people riding that day... Mates Granny and Pilch ahead of me whilst I was snapping away!

Conditions were less than optimal during our visit to Beecroft Peninsula, maybe that is why we did not see the Bristlebirds. According to the signs, the spot from which this was taken is one of only two in the world where one can fish for pelagic fish like tuna and marlin from the shore.
My son has finished his project--YEAH!
Judging from my photo of his board, I'm thinking he may turn out to be a better photographer than me. ;)

I normally have unusual shooting conditions whenever I fly into LAX. This time it was really wild - Santa Ana winds at a steady 30 mph winds, gusting to 60 mph, reverse operations (always pretty cool), massive wildfires putting up so much smoke (horrible know it was peoples' homes on fire), and VIP aircraft in the area. The sky was constantly changing color due the smoke and wind. Simply wow.
I was at Clutter's Park for a few hours and really bundled up. All the signposts and the flagpole were really shaking - we expected them to fly off at any moment. Camera tripods were shaking and almost tipping over. The weird thing was this was an unforgettable day, if you didn't think of the tragedies happening all around LA.

Namibia
On July 1, The Namibia Domestic and Allied Workers Union (NDAWU) began a workshop of shop-steward on conditions of employment and dispute resolutions.
Early in the morning they started with a march to commemorate the International Domestic Workers Day and asking for decent rights for domestic workers. It attracted the community around to see what was happening.
New workers joined the NDAWU after the march. A refugee from Angola recruited to become a member of the union.
The workshop started on leadership capacity building for the leaders and workers of the NDAWU. Meetings with domestic workers was to discuss the minimum wage and other matters relating to domestic work is decent work and decent work needs decent pay.
On the second day of the workshop, it was for the new members and leaders in Namibia. Workers were proud to be in a union.

This is the scene in my kitchen as these two candles provide meager light as we negotiate around our house.
