On July 1, The Namibia Domestic and Allied Workers Union (NDAWU) began a workshop of shop-steward on conditions of employment and dispute resolutions.
Early in the morning they started with a march to commemorate the International Domestic Workers Day and asking for decent rights for domestic workers. It attracted the community around to see what was happening.
New workers joined the NDAWU after the march. A refugee from Angola recruited to become a member of the union.
The workshop started on leadership capacity building for the leaders and workers of the NDAWU. Meetings with domestic workers was to discuss the minimum wage and other matters relating to domestic work is decent work and decent work needs decent pay.
On the second day of the workshop, it was for the new members and leaders in Namibia. Workers were proud to be in a union.

Conditions were pretty awesome except for very low visibility. Sugar Bowl was the opposite of crowded and the snow was plentiful.
Above Porlock and looking towards the cloud covered hill of Bossington, the conditions changed every few minutes as the low cloud rolled around.

Rainy conditions observed as a potent storm system moves thru the region. The region was already saturated from recent storms this past week or so. Talk about drought-busting storms! Pics taken from around San Jose, CA. (Thursday, February 9, 2017)
Weather scenario/forecast:
A low pressure area offshore was sending bands of clouds and atmospheric moisture toward NorCal as it was moving slowly eastward. Heavy rain and gusty south winds were experienced around the Bay Area. The heaviest rain and winds was forecast to be over by mid afternoon Thursday, but periods of rain showers would continue thru Friday or so, with possible t-storms especially for the Central Valley regions. Skies were to be clearing by the upcoming weekend as high pressure was to start to build up along and over the West Coast giving us a break from the unsettled weather...
Looking ahead: As we approach the second half of February, storms that do come may again become potent enough to renew rounds of flooding rain, heavy mountain snow and gusty winds. The relentless storms from late this past fall to this point of the winter have dismantled the drought across NorCal and have greatly reduced the long-term drought in Southern California as well, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. Less than 1 percent of California remains in extreme drought as of February 7, 2017...
