Day 153 - Modern Warrior Concept -
Well, this figure isn't so much of a concept, except for the helmet ;) I'm playing with ideas for giving figures different "viewing" items, such as the trans-light-blue scanner on the helmet. This modded M4 features a scope from an AC8, and the flashlight is from a TLC Star Wars Blaster (and it functions fairly well, I think).
As always, thanks for looking!
Josh
Here's a new piece that is part of a current series I'm creating for my church! (This one is a bit of an abstract interpretation.)
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known." - 1 John 3:1-2

Obviously this arm is no way near finished, but a preview of what I'm working on anyway. This will be a team of 6-7 characters who will form into one. The goal is to build this with mostly CCBS as the core and also to make everything in a 'set style" in other words something you'd reasonably expect to see in stores with price and part limitations. Mostly because a) it's a cool concept and b) I blow ass at MOCing anything beyond that style anyway LOL
More concept art for my Star Wars daydreaming folder, from some very talented people, including Alex Jay Brady, Adam Kop, Sam Olesen, Jeff Zugle and Raoul Antonia. I've been searching for larger cruisers and things lately but I haven't found much that screams SW as much as the smaller fighters and shuttles, etc.

I used to think “Oh no I need to perfectly split this torso by the seams to swap out limbs to get an articulated doll” but nowadays I find it’s much easier to cut the torso up and ensure the articulated limbs already fit well in their sockets.
I keep forgetting how ridiculous the Liv torso joint is but it’s super big and annoying but I managed to pry the body apart so that’s a thing now and glued it onto the mermaid tail stump.
It’s mostly a proof of concept with my rerooted PJ head but as you can see I want to put a Mod era head on this body and make cute little mod dresses and stuff for her.
Man, there are actually a lot of possibilities for this frame.
Oh, and by the way, I'm leaving for camp in a couple minutes.

just playing around with a couple of del-prado knights in armour that I picked up from a car boot sale while on holiday . photo of flint castle on my i.pad as backdrop . next stage is a visit to the actual castle with the camera to get a more realistic shot
Photoshopped kitbash of the previous concept. The main body of the ship is the laser cannon from a Y-Wing, the cockpit is a PBY Catalina observation blister and there's bits of Gundam stuff in there as well.
Another one with the faux motion app effect. You know, it's the weirdest thing, these doctored still images you see around are like modern day equivalents of the Penrose stairs or M.C. Escher’s Waterfall. No contest in originality obviously, but much like them, these make you feel funny between the ears by just looking at them.
These are pretty big files and it'll take a while to upload them for viewing.
And yes, I am aware the snow goes upwards, but you know, I don't think it's snowing here. It's the fierce Hoth winds blowing it off the ground. :D
If you have nothing to give
you can give me your smile
and we could deceive ourselves
we're not alone for a while
we call it tomorrow but
it's a shade of all the past
will the sun shine on us through
all the shadows that we've cast ?
as our story goes far
it gets more and more absurd
from where it came and to where
will go this desperate horde ?
let there be hope and let's pray
let's dearm of blue beyond grey
may you will find salvation
but not before you stray
human life comes to an end
soon or late , always so dull
forsaken by all savers
but may the love save us all

FR :

Don't ask me what it is. I don't know myself. We will say, a weird concept of Art Deco 'with techniques that crossed my mind when I woke up ... and which is useless. Just for fun, I'm going to do like Picasso in his cubic period, and name it: Between Earth, Sky and Sea.
PS: and don't ask me why I put the "sky" (white) in the basement. My head was upside down this morning. :D
