With two Otterbein defenders converging on him, Mount Union TE Evan Weygandt waits for the football in the Purple Raiders' end zone. When both ball and defenders arrived, Weygandt juggled the ball but managed to control it before hitting the ground for one of seven first-half touchdowns Mount Union scored in what resulted in a 58-0 victory.

Those of you I've exchanged emails with or have nattered to on the phone will know that I really want to start the 100 Strangers Project, but I've yet to work up the nerve to approach my first victim.
I thought that in the meantime I'd practice my portraits. The problem is though, that none of my friends are comfortable in front of the camera.
So I borrowed Georgia off of her mum. The deal was, I treated them both to Nandos, and in return I was free to snap away. This seemed like a fair deal, but what I didn't count on was how hard it is to keep a 2 year old still. I tried pleading with her, yelling at her, pulling faces, waving chocolate in front of her face, all to no avail. Then I remembered her love of cats. I quickly downloaded the Talking Tom interactive kitten app onto my iPhone, and hey presto, she sat motionless for about half an hour. I swear she didn't even blink during that time!
Ok, so I couldn't get her to look up at the camera either, but you can't have it all I guess.

Well, if you saw the Blip Blog on Blipfoto.com at all today then you'll know why I found myself at the Edinburgh Tattoo tonight. But not just at the Tattoo. Oh no.
Chaperoned in I was ushered 'backstage' behind the walls of the Castle to see the 'Big Bla' - basically all of the bands getting ready to perform, or milling and taking in the views while having a fag and taking photos with mobile phones. The concentration, though, was intense, as soundchecks were carried out, before a load of the bands joined forces to limber up. From here, back through the esplanade as the grandstands started to fill, and up to where the VIPs live, inadvertently bumping into a partner at a law firm I used to work for occasionally, and becoming an impromptu portrait photographer.
Back down and the first hour of the show was taken in at ground level, in front of the grandstands, with nothing obscuring the view. From the dreich first entrance and shows of tartan; to Dutch military bicycle music (yes... really...). As they left the Brazilians swung (quite literally) into rhythm, only to be replaced by some brute force gun running, then some unexpected German humour with dancing; giant horns; and lederhosen.
There were motorbikes (celebrating 90 years of the Scottish branch of the British Legion I think, and, of course, big-hatted drummers.
With 25 minutes or so left it was time for a higher vantage point. And while this meant missing out on the detail of the spectacle, it meant I could play with some long shutter speeds to get the motion of the performers, and the fantastic image overlaying going on right on the surface of the Castle. So musicians filed in; while the Castle became red, white and blue; then patriotic; then rampant.
Phew.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum (Polish: Państwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau) is a memorial and museum in Oświęcim, Poland (German: Auschwitz), which includes the German concentration camps Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. It is devoted to the memory of the murders in both camps during World War II. The museum performs several tasks, among them research into the Holocaust.
ITALIANO:

Theresienstadt concentration camp (often referred to as Terezín) was a Nazi German ghetto during World War II. It was established by the Gestapo in the fortress and garrison city of Terezín (German name Theresienstadt), located in what is now the Czech Republic.

I played a bunch of games but was resting this one to make the teams even and because it's unfathomably humid hot!
"Motivation such an aggravation,
Accusations don't know how to take them.
Inspiration's getting hard to fake it.
Concentration, never hard to break it.
Situation never what you want it to be."

"Can Survive Dragon Boat Team"
Twice a week our local cancer survivors Dragon boat team and their supporters practice on Henley Lake here in Masterton. This is in preparation for the Dragon boat festival to be held in Christchurch next February. My gym buddy Barbara and 2 other girls from our spinbike racing sessions at the gym are also members of this team, so I spent some time taking photos for them last Sunday.
On Saturday, July 23rd 2011, the players of the Cricket South Africa National Academy, under the care of former South African international cricketer Anton Ferreira, paid a vist to the JCC to carry out a coaching clinic at the club's grounds for the younger club members. The Academy players as well as their mentees had a fantastic day together and hopefully now a connection has been formed between the JCC and Cricket South Africa that will last for many years to come. Here are a few pictures from that memorable day. Remember these faces, they are high quality cricketers and you may see them on a cricket field near you one day.
I took this photo with a DSLR camera outside at noon. The background of this photo includes a fiery colored table and green leaves. The subject model wears heavy jewelry and includes a wallet chain accessory typically worn by males. The bold facial expression, choice of clothing and accessories in this image convey the difference made from standard "pretty women" in society and portrayed in advertising. The lighting of this image reflects a powerful, vibrant color and aura, making the woman in the photo look daring. Expected characteristics and contents of commercial for example, rarely dim the face of the subject and typically shine light on the "beauty" features.
