Willing these owls more success as they spent most of the day hunting and only witnessing one kill they really do struggle to survive on the marsh in winter
In all matters of concentration you need to be stealthy and very quick with that long sharp beak if you would like to pull in your next meal.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul....Darrell.

Normally I really dislike being out on windy days! The wind makes such a mess of your hair!! But if I had hair like this, I might think differently, and nothing seems to disturb this young woman :))
Mr Heron was concentrating so hard he didn't take off when I crept up on him today at Marsworth canal, sitting here watching and waiting for the fish to offer themselves to him. Even the pugs who were chugging along quite noisily beside my husband didn't distract him! 😉
A Great Blue Heron from my trip to Florida. We have a pair on our pond in WI but you can never get within a hundred yards of them. The ones I came across in Florida were much more approachable. This big bird was catching teeny little fish one right after another. He made up in volume what they lacked in size.

Scar House Reservoir is the second of the three reservoirs in Upper Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, England, the others being Angram Reservoir and Gouthwaite Reservoir. The reservoir took 15 years to build and was completed in 1936
