Ready to go to seed the pine cones in the pines catch the wind and make music as the seeds fly to new ground.

Poor little guy. I always feel sorry for pets with these cones not only because of their medical procedure but that they are forced to appear in public with the "cone of shame."

I don't know why but I've always liked pine cones, the smell is great and the natural repeating pattern of them are so visually appealing. What I liked about this photo is how you can sorta see two seasons...late fall and winter in one as the weather warmed up enough to reveal the pine cones that fell in the fall. It was nice to get out to take some pictures even if it was just my yard.

Baby pine cones! I was taken aback when I saw the light pink color. When I touched the branch, a light pollen dust came off. You can see the sugary specks on the cones. Happy Macro Monday!
