Trigger checking her mail

the computer I built for my father-in-law. It broke, most likely due to all this dust. Even after cleaning it out it was still broken. So I built him a new one.

This is what I was doing for 6+ hours Thursday night after my brand new computer crashed. ::insert enough foul language to warrant a mature rating:: I lost some pics, (Including my picture of the day) and a ton of other stuff, and spent the night restoring and reformatting the HD...

My newest girl. Yup, that is 27 inches of lovin' wrapped right around my pictures. Thank you to my honey, I love it!

this is were i do all that computer stuff - but mostly it isn't that clean :)

My computer broke down last week. This is a photo of my new motherboard. Rather than buying a new one I decided to try to just replace what I needed so that I could salvage as much as I could from my broken one and reduce my compu-waste. It is the first time I've attempted the DIY computer route so it took a while to figure out what to buy and to sort everything out, but the CPU heatsink really made me laugh... does anyone else think it is a bit ridiculous? (Btw, I do know that one can donate one's compu-waste to a charity, but trying to use/reuse as much of my stuff for as long as possible myself somehow seemed karmically preferable).

This desk is set up with my connection to the campus system (read: a computer). The phone was finally fixed on Friday.

When it rains it pours...

And it's raining pretty hard in here this weekend...freakin computers!

My computer crashed last weekend, and I finally fixed it. I found three stink bugs on the electronic componets. After plucking them out with tweezers, the computer worked! Now I am really behind on my PAD photos and will try to catch up soon.

After school, the computer bank fills up with students working on -- could it be homework? Whatever it is, they're busy!

another kid I watch sometimes. I wish you could see his concentration better,in the reflection, that's what I was trying to capture. :)

Photographed from along the coastline of North Beach (natural section) at Sandy Hook National Seashore, Highlands, Nj. Taken on October 19, 2008.

* I returned today (2 weeks later) to find that this rarely spotted shore creature not only was still around but also had managed to crawl 200 yards further down the coastline from where I first spotted it.

With it's face down and the rear of the screen housing fully exposed, the monitor attempts to attract its mate. Not an easy thing to accomplish in this type of habitat..........hard drives are rarely seen congregating on the shores of Sandy Hook. But you have to admire the little fella for trying.............. just look at it's beautiful, perfectly aligned holes. Breathtaking.

A picture of my friends tower of their computer, they custom built it to record their band. awesome.

Today we visited the computer aid offices.

...describes the my feelings upon receipt of my new PC. My previous computer's motherboard self destructed a fortnight afore yuletide, rendering me PC-less over the festive period. Bummer! Fortunately the information within the hard-drive was recoverable despite it being unable to boot up. Thank the Lord for the Integral External Hard Drive Enclosure Caddy!

We're gonna need some cooling.

Picked up the new computer so hard to dissemble the old one to extract the hard drive and transfer it to the new computer. Mac does not make it easy to take a peak in side, about 20 screws and popping the keyboard lose and threading the orange tape the hard drive was finally accessible!
