My favorite laptop was stolen out of my truck while I was in college at Michigan Tech. This Saturday at the CARC Swap and Shop, I found one -- better than the one I had, with all the accessories, and in better condition.
I honestly can't think of a better way to spend the only $10.00 bill I currently have access to. :)
This laptop was left turned on overnight in an area that was infested with flying ants.
The customer reported stability problems with the computer. No wonder! When stripped for cleaning this is what I found.
I built the bracket underneath the desk to be adjustable. I've managed to find a nice, convenient viewing angle that works nicely. There's a small amount of glare from the window itself, but, being in a relatively dark corner of the office, I've never found it to be a real problem.
Looking up close at a computer screen with a EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro. The red, green and blue pixel elements come out in striking detail and make this more than just a simple shot of a computer screen. This image was rejected by "In Numerical Order" as they do not allow computer screen shots. Oh, well. I should have read the rules more closely. It was fun working on this shot.
Young imaginations run wild as a discarded keyboard, with mouse wire attached to a plastic lunchbox, gives these children the make-believe thrill of playing hands-on with a “real” computer.
Me, computers, technology, social media, photography & video has become like a marriage in a sense. Here is a photo that i named Computer Family to represent my love for the gadgets.. Computers & External Hard drives... lol And the Blackberry Phone for the on the go moments....
Cluttered area that I want to fit all of the computers into.
18/365: A crash day, but I thought about how I wanted to reorganize the computer room a little bit.
This is where I work on my computer.

"To err is human--and to blame it on a computer is even more so." ~ Robert Orben
Since I'm in IT, I'm very familiar with people blaming everything on a computer. But computers can allow you to have magic. I'm grateful to have Photoshop to experiment and see colors blooom. The same delight that I experienced when I developed my very first film can occur each time I open Photoshop!
I tutor one-on-one computer usage classes at Lakes Regional Library as a volunteer. I'm called a Computer Coach, and this is my "classroom".

The first centralized computer system at the Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire was in this room, the Data Processing Center, where the computing power was provided by large Burroughs mainframe computers. Burroughs was founded in 1886 as the American Arithmometer Company, and was one of the main competitors in the computer market during the 60's. This photo was taken in 1969.
Ever since the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire opened its doors in 1916 as the Eau Claire State Normal School, technology has played an important role in the education of generations of students. This album illustrates how technology has changed, from typewriters to computers, from records to reel-to-reel tape, and everything in between.

I think this could have turned out better. It lost some of its vibrancy from camera to computer, so I tried to boost them a bit.
I was planning on sleeping in today, but my Dad woke me up early to tell me it was snowing outside & I should go take photos. So I rushed to get dressed. Because I was only going to go take photos in the garden I didn’t bother to get dressed properly – I was still in my pj top! But then my Dad said I should go & take photos around the school, so I had to go back & actually get changed. & then I took photos in the garden until I was convinced that all the students were up from their cars, & then I went & took photos around the school.
I came home then, & Hugh’s Economics class was cancelled because his teacher’s car had gone into a ditch, so he was home, & I showed him my camera while he made cereal. I made myself a hot breakfast & then went to chat to my Mom, who was still lying in. My Dad called me to say he was free, so I went up to talk to him in school, & he got me a hot chocolate. When I came back home my Mom was up so I showed her my pics. She went out, & then I went & straightened my hair & put make on before heading over to the AC. I needed to talk to Mr B but he wasn’t there, so I chatted to Helen for 30mins before Mr B turned up & said he was free at 2.15pm. So I headed back home & read the paper & cooked lunch. Hugh was home again because he had had early lunch & his friends hadn’t, & he had to go to maths clinic in 30mins.
After lunch Sue brought over Val to do some ironing (I was supposed to do that today, so that was a relief) & I headed over to see Mr B. We chatted about my script, & then NYT. & then I went home & spoke to my Dad up at school again, & then went & played out in the snow some more. & then I changed into my pjs & fell asleep in front of the TV until 6pm when I woke up to hear everyone just about to eat dinner. So I joined them before watching more TV while trying not to fall asleep. I watched two episodes of Celebrity BB with my family, & then put photo software onto my laptop & trying to edit them. It is now 4am, & I am horribly tired, so I’m going to bed.

This is my Office / Computer Room / Editing Work Station. There is now a Mac hooked up via a KVM to this as well, not pictured, because who the hell cares about a mac, it barely gets used, because I CAN DO EVERYTHING IT CAN DO AND BETTER ON MY PC. Why did I get a Mac? I have no idea? Garbage is what they are.
