P38 Lightning kill in Heroes of the Pacific.

Kills in Heroes of the Pacific can produce some spectacular explosions during dogfights, the only thing is that in the heat of battle there is little chance to enjoy them! This screen shot was only possible because of HotP's replay mode, where you can review your play from different camera angles.

Note that Portugal had no New World provinces or colonies. Also note that 4 tribes still existed and one minor power. This is what kept prices and demand high so that I could finance everything through sales.

As part of the Blizzcon 2017 goodie bag, I got this little figurine of the character Reaper from the Overwatch video game. While I am sometimes concerned about having too many little figurines like this taking up shelf space, it sure is fun to photograph them!

The aircraft models are very nice - not 'flight sim' standard, but they do the job.

As with all the aircraft available to you in Battlestaions Pacific you have a range of views, from a console-like 3rd person view to the classic first person cockpit view.

www.milgeek.co.uk

BSP aircraft are easy to fly - it's really an arcade (console) flight combat game. But this is probably just as well, as the sheer number of aircraft types you have to fly means that a simple and generic flight control model is necessary!

The emphasis is on FUN!

This is one of the more disappointing aspects of the Borderlands game. The amount of character customization is minimal (I presume because it was primarily a console game).

Changing the colours of one's clothing is all you can do - no change of hats or uniform, or mapping your digitized face onto the character. :(

Heroes of the Pacific: The last upgrade version of the P80 in the game, this screen shot reminds me of the movie 'The Bridges of Toko-Ri', which was my favourite when I was a kid!

The Shooting Star soon became past it's best as jet technology sped forward, and by the Korean War it was 'relegated' (though some would say it found it's niche) as a ground attack aircraft.

This is my second run through of the game, this time as the - very popular - soldier class.

If you are going to do the game on your own - single player - then this is the best all-round class. Especially as you get a nice remote and shielded gun turret to help you out!

The Computerspielemuseum Berlin (Computer Games Museum Berlin) was founded in 1997. From 1997 to 2000, it had a permanent exhibition in Berlin. Afterwards, it became an online only museum. In 2011, it reopened its permanent exhibition in Berlin's neighborhood of Friedrichshain. During the first month of its permanent exhibition, it had 12,000 visitors.

Battlefield 2 - the legend.

Not an exaggeration, this game was a landmark and was literately MASSIVE!

Although it was hardly innovative (Novalogic's Joint Ops was doing most of the stuff that BF2 allowed players to do much earlier) it's ranking system was rock solid(ish) and was an instant hit.

Milgeek.co.uk: Gaming review: The last ten years (or so...)

The sensor for the Nintendo Wii taken in infrared with infrared pass filter to see through the dark front plastic.

"It was a tough assignment, but we cleared the quarry and destroyed the enemy artillery positions. The Ghosts moved through the basin of the quarry while I flanked the enemy and worked my way up to a high position where my scoped M14 could do most damage.

As my team worked their way through the mess of work huts and hills of shale, I stood over-watch and scanned for any movement.

Sure enough my teams advance caught the attention of the enemy troops hiding in wait for us. But it was the Ghosts who sprang the ambush!

From my position I picked off the enemy troops as they tried to break cover to engage my men. Between us we cleared the quarry floor and slowly made our way up the other side towards the self-propelled guns.

We didn't have everything our own way, and in one firefight Ramirez caught some lead as we pushed for the first gun...

But I picked out their sniper and took him out with a well placed head shot.

Although the guns were guarded, our firepower and tactics made short work of the handful of remaining rebels. The C4 was planted on each gun in turn and with a flick of a switch the fireworks celebrated the completion of a job well done.

All that remained was to get the team to the extraction point and to get the wounded Ramirez onto the Dust Off!" - BIG-Ranger

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. ACT 1 - 'Search & Destroy'

To my mind the Ghost Recon series is generally one of the most over-looked and under-rated FPS/squad infantry shooters. I had to reload this game a few days ago as I had gotten completely bored of the random fraging and run and gun nature of the more modern Call of Dury 4, and honestly I have to say GRAW2 is a superior game.

Call of Duty is the individual 'soldiers' shooter, its a very selfish score driven format that does not promote teamwork. While GRAW2 puts you in charge of your own section of 3 'Ghosts'. To complete your objective successfully you must develop a squad commander's mentality.

In co-op mode the teamwork element is obvious, as you work together to gain the tactical upper hand to defeat an enemy that is far superior in numbers.

yes, it is a slower paced game at times than the frenetic pandemonium that is a CoD4 game, but the intriguing combination of first person shooter and small squad RTS stimulates both the heart and the mind!
