My lesson in not to trust anyone on eBay:
Bought cheap on a fleamarket, set in eBay in 2001 and sent it to new-zealand but never got my money for it.
Some friendly words to help you on your way. Brought to you by the Aperture Advice Dept

O.K. I'm sure some of the sceptics out there are saying, sure Steve, where did you come up with a Lear Jet? And what's up with New York? You live in Vegas. Well, I can swear that I took this picture and flew this Lear Jet under that damn bridge.
I suppose a critical missing part of this story was that I was sitting behind my computer playing on Microsofts Flight Simulator. I mean to say, this is the most fun you can have on a computer without a real plane. I mean the detail and reality is beyond amazing. Just view this panel in LARGE and you can see that every guage is spot on. Things like speed, altitude, attitude, direction, wheels, flaps and every other thing a good panel should tell you about. It even starts out with full tanks and dares you not to run out of fuel.
I stopped flying five years ago and my son just recently sent this to me to keep me "up in the air" The planes include everything from a gas powered hang glider up to a 747. For sport, P-51 Mustangs, the Extra 300 stunt planes which I have some good knowledge of and even some F/A 18 Hornets with which I've been buzzing the Las Vegas Strip with. If you have some wanderlust, there are over 24,000 different airfields.
I could go on and on with this speech, so suffice to say I'm enjoying the game.
P.S. I don't work for Microsoft plus I believe they don't make these anymore.
P.P.S. The picture is made by hitting a pause button and then just taking a picture of the screen.

Computer games tend to teach you new skills*, which is why some games feature tutorial levels designed for gamers of any ability. Other games weave their lessons into game play.
The Thief games made me aware of what kind of surface I was walking on. Earth, stone and wood were relatively quiet, but gravel, metal and most fearsome of all, marble, were to be avoided at all costs. The audio captures boots-on-marble vividly, and is sure to elicit a "hello? Is anybody there?" from nearby guards.
The First City Bank and Trust level is a sprawling network of corridors, halls, offices and steam-punk robots, set within what is clearly more than just a bank. Marble is everywhere, along with furious iron beasts, with a fiery behind and cannons for arms.
This was taken in The Dome, originally the Physicians hall, before becoming a bank. Currently, it's a sort of entertainment-complex used by office workers, eager to shed inhibitions and sobriety. It's a beautiful building, as I suppose it's churlish for me to snipe, as at least it's being looked after, and the vomit is cleaned off every morning.
* By "skills", I don't mean anything which would be useful in the real world

The Japanese Mitsubishi G4M 'Betty' - I do like bombers, but unfortunately Heroes of the Pacific does not allow you to take over turret gun positions. What a pity.
Your turrets are automatically controlled by your AI crew - they are useful though, particularly when you get a enemy on your 'six'.
Bombing is a little too dumbed down for my tastes - I would have liked to be able to had a bomb sight view of some sorts, there isn't even a drop cross-hair on conventional bombers but you do get a cross-hair for dive bombing.
Still, this is a console game (ported for PC) so you can't expect a real sim experience - it's all about fun and instant action.
