Testing my new-to-me, just cleaned lens Zeiss Ikon, Super Ikonta 531! This one has a Carl Zeiss Jena 75mm f3.5 Tessar that I took apart and cleaned all the haze out of, looks very sharp to me. The Super Ikonta is a 6x4.5 Medium format rangefinder folder that is super compact and very unique. This may be the medium format camera for me. This shot, wide open, taken on my not-so-favorite Ilford HP5+ and Rodinal + a pinch of salt.

Internet-ish artworks market + Performances by Exonemo & JODI
Internet Yami-Ichi (インターネットヤミ市)
literally "Internet Black Market". By mixing different Japanese writing systems the word "yami" takes on the double meaning of "sick for / addicted to". Therefore, a more accurate translation might be "Internet Obsessives Market".
"S*%t happens. Didn't used to. Like when some small off-handed private comment turns into a flamewar. Or worrying about not getting enough like. The Youtube videos you can't watch anymore because somebody complained. Or the apps you can't play because they were ✖rejected✖ by Apple. Once upon a time, the Internet was supposed to be a place for "liberty". Nowadays it's so uptight". – IDPW.org
The Japanese collective IDPW.org invites us to perpetuate "in real life" the freedom and joyful anarchy of the early web. The Internet Yami-Ichi draws its inspiration from flea markets, these chaotic assemblages that combine hidden gems, unlikely objects, collectibles and useless trash.
Turn off, log-out, and drop in
In this market of a new kind, artists, creatives and makers sell internet-related / internetish objects. Books, artworks, fashion items, materialised data: physical artefacts that escape an increasingly cautious, controlled and censured online world.
Through this fun, friendly and laid-back event, Internet Yami-Ichi questions the ubiquity of the digital, its (dis)illusions and future(s).
After a successful edition at the Berlin Transmediale 2014, iMAL invites IDPW.org for the second Internet Yami-Ichi outside of Japan. The Brussels edition will take place in the wonderful Art Nouveau architecture of the Ateliers des Tanneurs, right next to their famous organic food market!
310 Claydon Way is located in one of the finer neighborhoods of Sacramento. Having the advantage of being almost riverside, access to the American River Parkway and bicycle path is just one block from the home, providing lovely walks through incredible natural scenery and wildlife.
Year round, this beautiful neighborhood known as Wilhaggin, shows off its aesthetic pride with floral blossoms and blooms. Unlike other fine neighborhoods in the Sacramento area, Wilhaggin is mostly composed of sprawling single story dwellings. with wide streets, sidewalks and street lights.
The "ambiance" of this kind of neighborhood intention is palpable -- quietude, modest elegance, comfortable curb appeal, an abundance of mature and establish landscaping and shade trees.
Back when these houses were made in the sixties -- before magazine living lifestyle took over and replaced practicality with the discomforts of looking sharp -- strong bones and durability were time-honored architectural concepts. Pleasing oneself was more important than pleasing the neighbors, so the focus of the aesthetic addressed things like "hot summers", "colder winters" and the need for shade and light.
There were many independent builders at that time who became famous for their designs and also for their creative concepts for creating ideal settings for a river-living climate.
Among those that rose to fame, Lewis & Bristow are known for their comfortable living designs that centered around poolside appreciation. Shaped like a "U", 310 Claydon Way has three giant sliders that open up onto a giant back yard patio. The patio has roll-down awnings for late afternoon sun shade but also lends itself to an outside office or enclosed dinner-time eating.
The automated irrigation system has just been completely restored and upgraded. Other changes that have been done recently include brand new carpet, new paint and a remodeled entry way.
The grounds are fully established and mature. There are an abundance of roses and azaleas which bloom seasonally. The redwood trees on the property and surrounding the property in the backyard are invaluable for shade and beauty.
And 310 Claydon Way is loaded with all manner of little details of this nature which make it easy to maintain with a minimal amount of work. A truly beautiful home with over 3100 square feet, 310 Claydon way has been called "Shangri La" and has particularly great appeal to a buyer who loves outdoor living as much as indoor living.

The Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara bear exceptional witness to the evolution of Japanese architecture and art and vividly illustrate a critical period in the cultural and political development of Japan, when Nara functioned as its capital from 710 to 784. During this period, the framework of national government was consolidated and Nara enjoyed great prosperity, emerging as the fountainhead of Japanese culture.
Located in the modern city of Nara, the property includes eight component parts composed of seventy-eight different buildings covering 617.0 ha, which is surrounded by a buffer zone (1,962.5 ha) and the “historic environment harmonization area (539.0 ha)”.
Composed of a concentrated load of data, creativity and innovation, the Night Performances in Deep Space 8K on the evening of Futurelab Day provided new impulses as valuable resources for a collective creative resilience: Between stunning visuals, data-driven performances and electric noise from the rendering engines of artists and deep neural networks, Futurelab Day approached its zenith with a veritable fireworks of creativity.

Composed by David Lang. Conducted by Simon Halsey. Movement by Annie-B. Parson.
This composition for voices (no instruments) was billed a piece for 1000 voices. Although it was a steamy, sweaty day (said to feel like 105 degrees), the performers did a great job. It was an oddly stirring work about how we all can come together from the things we share in common. For the first half of the piece I watched from above, from the balcony of David Geffen Hall. For the second half. I wandered amongst the singers on the plaza.

Old North Church (officially, Christ Church in the City of Boston), at 193 Salem Street, in the North End of Boston, is the location from which the famous "One if by land, and two if by sea" signal is said to have been sent. This phrase is related to Paul Revere's midnight ride, of April 18, 1775, which preceded the Battles of Lexington and Concord during the American Revolution.
Paul Revere told three Boston patriots to hang two lanterns in the steeple. These men were the church sexton Robert Newman, and Captain John Pulling, the two of whom David Hackett Fischer suggests each carried one lantern up to the steeple, and Thomas Bernard, who stood watch for British troops outside the church. The lanterns were displayed to send a warning to Charlestown patriots across the Charles River about the movements of the British Army. Revere and William Dawes would later deliver the same message to Lexington themselves, but this lantern method was a fast way to inform the back-up riders in Charlestown about the movements of the British; these back-up riders planned to deliver the warning message to Lexington and Concord in case Revere and Dawes were arrested on the way.
The lanterns were hung for just under a minute to avoid catching the eyes of the British troops occupying Boston, but this was long enough for the message to be received in Charlestown. The militia waiting across the river had been told to look for the signal lanterns, and were prepared to act as soon as they saw them.
The meaning of two lanterns has been memorized by countless American schoolchildren.
One if by land, and two if by sea is from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, "Paul Revere's Ride". One lantern was to notify Charlestown that the British Army would march over Boston Neck and the Great Bridge, and two were to notify them that the troops were taking boats across the Charles River to land near Phips farm. After receiving the signal, the Charlestown Patriots sent out a rider to Lexington, but this rider did not reach his destination and his identity has disappeared from history. He was the one who might have been captured by a British patrol.
But the warning was delivered miles away to dozens of towns, first by Revere and Dawes on horses, and then by other men on horses and men who rang church bells and town bells, beat drums, and shot off warning guns. (Current status of the lanterns is not entirely clear; one is said to be in the hands of a private collector, another broken during a tour, and yet another is on display at the Concord Museum.)
