The Daily Shoot #321: Make a photograph that plays two complementary colors off of each other today.

I think everybody can guess what place that is even if it's written in Finnish. We would always associate blue and orange with the post-office even if really this is an old sign since the postal services have been privatised and they've even changed the name to Itella. Now, if you saw Itella, would you guess that's where you buy your stamps, for example? Even the colours will be different now - Itella uses blue and white.

The rising sun baths aspens and prairie grasses in golden morning light while the valley beyond remains covered in cool fog, at Bowmont Park, Calgary.

Upon some good advice (thanks Chris!) - I re-took this to straighten up the background line, and tried to get more of the powder in the foreground in focus. Much happier with it now!

Potty, absurd, kind of wonderful.

Complimentary colours. Two colours from opposite sides of the wheel.

 

Note:Got some good feedback about this one on Open studio from Chris - need to sort out the diagonal background and the orange powder in the foreground looks too soft. Think I am going to re-photograph it and work on the above.

I love the green of our sofa cover. It has had its days, but it's where we hang.

More complementary colour photos. Happened to see this lone red flower in a front yard just a few houses down from mine.
