Moody night street tones in Dublin along the banks of the river Liffey. I was standing out in the hope of a person or persons to walk past with an umbrella to complement the scene. Either way I think it’s turned out not to bad.
This FlowerDreams Annabelle Gown with these AvaGirl Demon Wings gives rise to the creation of a demoness succubus.
A succubus is a demon or supernatural entity in folklore, in female form, who seduces men through visceral sexual activity in their sleep.
This FlowerDreams Annabelle Gown fits Maitreya, Legacy (+Perky), Peach, GenX Classic (+Curvy), Khara, Prima, and Reborn (+Waifu) mesh bodies. It comes in Yellow, Pink, Red, Purple, and Green color versions.
The AvaGirl Bento Demon Wings come with an AO which syncs to run with your own avatar's AO simultaneously. The Wings also come with a color HUD with 8 separate skin and skeletal color textures to choose from.
I paired this demoness outfit with [GO] Best Halloween Lipstick & Eyeshadow, along with Howlett Design's [HDesign] Spiderskull Chest Tattoo to complement the skull print of the gown's.
All of these aforementioned products are now exclusively available at the Swank Goth Halloween October Event.

This night photograph of the Singapore River was taken near OUB Plaza looking into the direction of Marina Bay, through the Cavengah Suspension Bridge (one of the oldest bridges in Singapore). The other landmarks include Fullerton Hotel, Anderson Truss Bridge and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay (with distinctive roof structure lit up at night).
The long exposure adopted for the photograph led to colourful and interesting reflections in the River that complemented the nightscape.
Sherry Schooner.
I took a leisurely few days to think of a really clever, original, achievable idea for this week’s Macro Mondays theme. To help, I scoured the house up and down for suitable coloured objects…
Blank. That was the total result…
Been there before.
So, I decided to give up being clever and have some fun for myself instead. Making this image combined two things I’d been wanting to play with: glass reflections and refractions, and using the PC screen as a controllable coloured light source.
This is the outcome. The glass is Royal Brierley hand-cut lead crystal sherry schooner a couple of decades or more old. They still make them to this pattern though each one varies slightly as they are hand made and cut. The total height of the image is about 2¾ inches.
It’s placed about six inches directly in front of the screen which has a straight split between the orange on the left and blue on the right. The lighting and focus effects are quite complex when you look at them, partly because of the light multi-pathing in the glass I guess.
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for pausing to look and even read!
[As an aside in colour theory terms the colours I have chosen aren’t quite complements (opposites) in RGB terms, more like split complements.
Tripod mount, delayed shutter. Colour corrected monitor displaying #E5471E and #1C00EB. Very light processing in LR – almost any other mangling or sharpening I tried made it worse. The magenta artefacts in the image are as seen.]

"Sculpture is an art of the open air. Daylight, sunlight, is necessary to it, and for me, its best setting and complement is nature."
Henry Moore
« La sculpture est un art de plein air. La lumière du jour, la lumière du soleil, lui est nécessaire, et pour moi, la nature est son meilleur écrin et son meilleur complément. »
This image showcases the beautiful Baroque cityscape of Modica, a jewel of Sicily, as seen from the vantage point of the Church of San Pietro. The foreground is dominated by the church's intricate statues, each standing tall on stone pedestals, representing saints who contribute to the spiritual gravitas of the site. This church, a masterpiece of the Sicilian Baroque style, was rebuilt in the late 17th century after the devastating earthquake of 1693, which shaped much of the architectural history of the Val di Noto region.
The city of Modica, visible in the background, unfolds like a living postcard with its tiers of pastel-colored and ochre-toned buildings stacked along the hillside. This historical layering reflects centuries of architectural evolution, with medieval and Renaissance influences nestled alongside the more dominant Baroque features. The narrow streets and traditional balconies adorned with plants create a picturesque and inviting atmosphere that has earned Modica a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Architecturally, the area is defined by its harmony of form and function, with limestone facades and terracotta rooftops blending seamlessly into the rugged Sicilian landscape. The Church of San Pietro itself is a prime example, featuring an ornate facade, detailed carvings, and a grand staircase leading to its entrance, which enhances its imposing presence. Surrounding structures complement this aesthetic with arches, columns, and wrought-iron details that highlight the artisanship of the period.
Modica is also celebrated for its culinary traditions, particularly its unique chocolate, which follows a centuries-old Aztec recipe introduced by the Spanish. The city's chocolatiers craft this delicacy with a grainy texture and rich flavor, making it a must-try for visitors. Alongside chocolate, Modica's markets and restaurants offer a range of Sicilian specialties, such as arancini, cannoli, and pasta dishes that reflect the island's diverse cultural influences. This blend of history, architecture, and gastronomy makes Modica a captivating destination for any traveler.

Luxe Paris Brings Mondrian's Vision to Second Life: A Modern Take on High Fashion
In the ever-evolving world of Second Life fashion, Luxe Paris has once again proven why it remains a beacon of innovation and artistry. Their latest release, the Mondrian Dress, is more than just an outfit—it’s a statement. Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s iconic abstract art, this dress bridges the gap between the storied past of modern art and today’s haute couture.
The Fashion History Behind the Mondrian Dress
The roots of the Mondrian Dress trace back to the 1960s when Yves Saint Laurent introduced his groundbreaking "Mondrian Collection." His designs drew directly from Mondrian’s grid-based compositions of bold primary colors bordered by thick black lines. This collection was a revolutionary blend of art and fashion, showcasing how garments could transcend their functional purpose to become walking canvases of artistic expression.
Mondrian’s art, characterized by its simplicity and balance, was an ideal inspiration for Saint Laurent’s vision of modern elegance. By integrating these abstract paintings into couture, Saint Laurent didn’t just dress his models—he turned them into living embodiments of modernist art.
Luxe Paris: Revitalizing Mondrian for the Digital Era
Fast forward to today, and Luxe Paris’s rendition of the Mondrian Dress breathes new life into this classic design within the vibrant landscape of Second Life. The dress pays homage to the original with its striking grid patterns and color blocking. Yet, it reimagines the style with a contemporary twist that fits perfectly into the virtual world’s dynamic fashion scene.
The Luxe Paris Mondrian Dress is a seamless fusion of past and present. While it retains the essence of Mondrian’s minimalist aesthetics, it also incorporates modern elements like:
Dynamic Textures: The dress features intricate, high-definition textures that give the fabric a sense of depth and movement, adding realism to its virtual representation.
Flattering Silhouettes: Unlike the boxy shapes of the original 1960s design, Luxe Paris has tailored this dress to accentuate the avatar’s form, creating a sleek and sophisticated silhouette.
Styling the Mondrian Dress
This dress is a statement piece that doesn’t need much to shine. Pair it with minimalistic accessories like geometric earrings or a sleek clutch to enhance the artistic vibe. For shoes, opt for bold, single-tone heels to complement the dress’s striking colors.
In the virtual world of Second Life, where creativity knows no bounds, the Mondrian Dress by Luxe Paris stands as a tribute to both the history of fashion and the limitless possibilities of modern design. It’s a reminder that great art never fades; it evolves and adapts, finding new ways to inspire.
Final Thoughts
Luxe Paris’s Mondrian Dress is more than an outfit; it’s a celebration of artistic legacy and modern ingenuity. By bringing this iconic design to Second Life, Luxe Paris has not only honored the spirit of Mondrian and Saint Laurent but has also set a new standard for digital haute couture. So, whether you’re an art aficionado, a fashion enthusiast, or simply someone who loves to make a statement, the Mondrian Dress is a must-have for your Second Life wardrobe.
Step into the world of high fashion with Luxe Paris and wear a piece of history, reimagined for today. This dress is now exclusively available at the January Swank Renew Yourself Event:

A delicate arrangement of purple irises and pink tulips complemented by light blue wisteria flowers and greenery sits elegantly in a glass vase. The soft pastel colours create an ambiance of serenity and the composition evokes a romantic feeling.
A photograph I’ve edited specially to complement the concept album Shadows and Fire. A musical project my dear friend Kevin, my brother Ben and I’ve made, about growing up and the struggles that comes along with it. We’ve been making music together casually for many years now, but the older we grow the harder it gets to find the time for it. What started small, more like a fun challenge, turned out to be an, almost half an hour long, piece of music that contains a mixture of genres, although progressive rock predominates. Not everyone’s taste, I know… 😊
Actually, it was never our intention to share the music on the web, and the recording process wasn’t anywhere near a professional one (it’s recorded with minimal hardware and very basic software on the garret), but putting it on Spotify just makes it very easy to playback, for ourself and our friends in the first place. And I thought, since it’s already there, why not share it here on Flickr? So if you're a bit into this more progressive music, I'll definitely encourage you to take a listen!

(For this edit I’ve used a sky from photoshop, which I normally wouldn’t do. However, since this is more of a creative approach, where I’ve tried to find the right mood for the music, I think it’s fully justified.)
Thanks for having a look! All faves and comments are highly appreciated!

A view looking to the east to the Agate Bridge in Petrified Forest National Park. This is on the main trail approaching the petrified log that is the bridge before one makes a choice to go to either side. With this image, I decided to use the nearby terrain and then angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward, so that it created a more sweeping view to the Agate Bridge itself. That would allow for including landscape both before and after the bridge and petrified log, as well as keeping a portion of the blue skies above. I felt the latter created a color complement and contrast to the more Earth-tones in the surrounding landscape. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
A complement to my previous posting, this time Canadian Pacific's version of rebuilt first generation hood units, in this case the MLW-built RS18u fleet. Here we see four of them with intermodal train 554 at Cobleskill NY on the Delaware & Hudson in a 15 May 1993 scene, hitting the Trestle Lane pedestrian overpass with trademark Alco smoke as the engineer notches out his 251 quartet with a high green and a sag to pull out of. Taken on Kodachrome 200, a good idea at the time...

Eye Filmmuseum is a film archive, museum, and cinema in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands. The Eye Filmmuseum building is designed by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, and features two gallery exhibition spaces, one 300-seat cinema, two 127-seat cinemas, and a fourth intimate cinema of about 67 seats. The Filmmuseum was renamed the Eye Film Institute Netherlands and was officially opened on April 4, 2012, by Queen Beatrix.

Another unidentified species of flower I spotted earlier. I changed the green hues to yellow to complement the blue and indigo colours. Sorry.
The Expectation is to Stop and Smell the Roses
But in the mountains there are only wildflowers to enjoy
So I will stop to live that moment
No speed involved to my finish line
Just the day, a moment, and a vista like none other
I could always sing and give Julie Andrews a run for the money
I am all alone with only the trees and birds to share my company
So hike your own hike
Speed to adventure, if you must
And explore the planet we all share
You might just find me with my shoes and socks off
And only a smile as I sit and take in a view.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in Big Bend National Park at a roadside pullout along the main Basin road. The view is looking to the west across the Chisos Basin area to The Windows off in the distance. Because of the several thousand foot decline in elevation present across this national park landscape, I had to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to capture a more sweeping view. The more distant peaks and mountains would be pushed higher into the image but leave enough for me to include some of the blue skies and clouds above.
For processing the image, I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO?PhotoLab 4 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.
These two trees complement each other so well, you'd think they were a single tree. The one completes the other. Together, they form the shape of a beautiful tree, perhaps even more whole than any one could be alone.
This reminds me of another tree silhouette I took in Fall 2007.

Located on a hill Universales Mountains, is the medieval city sits on the isthmus and the peninsula formed by the river Guadalaviar. It is surrounded on its four-fifths of a deep pit that makes defensive moat, complemented by the imposing walls of belt leading to the castle of the walkway.
Has abundant monuments as the Church of Santa Maria, Cathedral, Palacio Episcopal, some noble mansions, among which that of Monterde, and a peculiar architectural style dominated the Julianeta house, the house of the street Azagra, the square of the Community and small and evocative Square.
But the charm of Albarracín is primarily in the layout of its streets adapted to the difficult topography of the ground, stairs and passageways and into the walls of his village of irregular reddish, half-timbered, in a difficult balance, with eaves that are played. A distinctive feature of the city of Albarracín respect to the peoples of the Sierra is the abundant use of structures with half-timbered and plaster tabicones that confers red color to the set. The cast material is typical in Albarracin, more even than the stone. The architecture of wood and plaster is lighter than the stone, which reduces the volume of materials used, and if the city saves the cost of the work by the difficulty of access for them to it.
Every corner, every house, is the subject of admiration for their doors and calling (iron doorknobs mimicking a fantastic little dragon), their tiny windows with lace curtains, its running balconies of wrought iron and rich in carved wood, ... The main monument Albarracín is the city itself, with its aristocratic and popular taste, reflecting its history and the good of its people.
The city of Albarracín is located 1171 meters above sea level altitude weather condition, which may fall within the Mediterranean mountains, with certain continental, with average annual temperature of 11 ° and the rainfall of 480 mm. Climate and altitude are subject to its vegetation, and the juniper albar the climax species. Beside it several varieties of pine and holm oaks and degraded. Beautiful is the landscape of Rodeno, hiring its red color with the green of the pines. Limestones are famous for their content of fossils of the Jurassic.
Nature has been generous in the Sierra de Albarracín, may find it a great diversity of ecosystems. Canyons, deep ravines cut cliffs, craggy rock, parameros, valleys, gentle meadows, forests ... a great richness of flora (pine-albar, laricio, pinaster, junipers, hollies, oaks, gall oaks ...) and wildlife (deer, roe deer, wild boar, wild cat, squirrel, ..., migratory birds, raptors and other high-value species).
In the mountains there are also sources, springs, lakes and rivers of births, such as the Tajo, Guadalaviar, Cabriel and other minor river shapes pools, ponds, waterfalls .... All this coupled with the fresh clean air and we breathe and the spectacle offered by the real sky at night, make a journey through these beautiful and tranquil spots to stop for the traveler an unforgettable memory.
The rainy weather favors the spread in the autumn, a large variety of mushrooms, season to become a real paradise for mycologists, provided they obtain the permission of forest officials.
Another crazy Steampunk image. It has a full complement of obligatory, yet redundant clocks and goggles.
Sorry no gears or spicy leather outfit in this one. Maybe next time if this one gets 100 faves.
I hope you like it.

While walking the Balconies Cave Loop with a view looking to the east to the eroded rock formations and volcanic leftovers present in this part of Pinnacles National Park. My thought on composing this image was to pull back on the focal length to include as much of the ridge with the rock formations as I could in the lower portion of the image. The blue skies and that wisp of clouds would be that color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.

When visiting our amazing art gallery on a glorious sunny afternoon we had an unexpected mesmerising experience. An apparent spontaneous slow moving dance performance unfolded on the main floor of the gallery. Fascinating to watch. The sunny stripes provides an interesting contrast I think and complements other square elements.
This JUMO PRISCILA bodycon pantsuit with complementing top is a gorgeous and stellar example of one of today’s modern and sophisticated wardrobe staples.
The pantsuit was first introduced and ultimately manifested by Helmut Newton's famous black and white shot for Vogue Paris back in 1975. As a woman's silhouette became freer and more on display, a trend emerged called "la garçonne," whereby women took on almost boyish personas, opting for flat-chested, unrestricted apparel.
It reflected the aspirations of women seeking to defy gender norms as an explicit symbol representing our fight for equality in the workplace and simply as a means for more styling comfort.
This Jumo PRISCILA outfit's Fatpack has a magnificent Color HUD which comes with 25 Satin Colors + 6 Printed + 6 Sequin iterations providing you with a variety of styling choices.
With its long-sleeve, backless, and halter top design, it will prove to be your personal "go to" outfit in your wardrobe collection. I paired this pantsuit & top combination with Jumo PRISCILA earrings (purchased separately). It offers a Color HUD which gives you 10 gem color + 4 metal color options. These earrings are also resizable. So, whether you want dress up with high heels or get comfortable in wedge sandals, I guarantee that there are many different styling opportunities which ahead for you with this Jumo Priscila outfit.
Also, check out the absolutely gorgeous [HDesign] Floral VII Chest Tattoo that I am wearing.
This JUMO Originals PRISCILA outfit fits: Kupra, Maitreya, Legacy, Reborn (+Juicy), and GenX Curvy mesh bodies.
The PRISCELLA Pantsuit with matching earrings and [HDesign] Floral VII Chest Tattoo are all available this month at Swank Event's Celebration of Color Event.

Off I Go!
The journey starts from here
White sand stretch to a distant horizon
No matter which way I turn
Many miles of walking
Alkali Flat Trail
What wonders will I see?
Majesty of mountains
The wind blowing ripples across the sand
Any number of cloud formations imagined
A solitude to think to myself
5 miles and many hours later
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning before heading out to hike the Alkali Flat Trail in White Sands National Park. This view is looking to the northwest not far from the trailhead. The footprints present in the white sands are the path I would follow for around five miles, over and across any number of sand dune formations. My thought on composing this image was to take advantage of the high ground I was located on and capture a sweeping view looking across the white sand landscape present to my front. I wanted to include some of the more distant ridges and peaks of the San Andres Mountains as well as blue skies above. I felt both complemented each other with the blues and whites.
This was one of three signature shots I wanted up here in the Northeast Kingdom so made sure to prioritize it. This is a spot that should need no introduction as it has been famous for generations. There are lots of angles I've seen over the years, and it was a bit hard to pick but settled on this wider version standing in the bed of my truck with just enough elevation to capture the farm pond below and the mountains on the horizon. The red pick up coming down Searles Road complements the read locomotive bookending the classic red barn. Here again is CPKC train G-18 enroute home to Newport from Farnham with GP20C-ECO 2261 leading four cars approaching the Cross Road grade crossing at MP 50.8 on the former Canadian Pacific Newport Sub.

CSXT local L020 has 17 cars trailing two ACSES equipped ex Chessie GP40-2s as they roll south down the Troy Industrial Track at about MP QCT4. They are parallelling the Hudson River and River Road and are passing beneath one of the four trusses of the Troy-Menands Bridge which dates from 1933. The train is headed toward Rensselaer where they will pause for a bit before getting permission from Amtrak's Hudson North dispatcher to head out onto the Hudson Line and cross the Livingston Avenue Bridge and make the climb up West Albany hill enroute back west to they're home bass in South Schenectady via the Amtrak main and CSXT's Carmen Branch.
