This evening photograph of the Singapore River was taken near OUB Plaza looking in the direction of Boat Quay (on the left) and with the historic Civic Centre (on the right). Boat Quay was the busiest part of the old Port of Singapore during the 1860s. It has been conserved and now house various restaurants, bars and pubs.
The light trails of a water taxi are captured in the foreground, which complemented the colourful reflections in Singapore River.

Hay tramos umbríos y solitarios que predisponen a la meditación zen. El sonido del agua siempre te acompaña vayas por la senda que elijas. Paradójicamente siempre te sientes acompañado de un paisaje inenarrable: hayedos, castañares, helechos, montañas, picos, pueblos, aldeas, aves, vacas, campesinos y agricultores. La hospitalidad es sagrada, te reciben con los brazos abiertos en todas partes. El peregrino es sagrado durante el Camino.
This is Lake Louise, a glacier fed lake famous for it's turquoise water, majestic glacier and Alberta Rocky Mountains. I saw a beautiful model posing for her photographer. I thought the beauty of the surrounding and the beautiful model complement each other and captured the moment.

Between 1891 and 1894 architect Philip Webb, who was a friend of William Morris, designed the house for a prosperous London solicitor, James Beale, his wife Margaret, and their family. It is decorated with Morris carpets, fabrics and wallpapers, and the garden complements the beauty of the house. The house still has its original electric light fittings

When I originally came up with my posting style to complement my editing style it was meant to be three sentences that were to add to the photo that I captured. I have since been diagnosed with explainitis and one of the symptoms is an extreme fear of periods. In order to combat this sinister disease my sentences will no longer run on but hopefully just jog a little into a three mini paragraph format.
Pictured here in the morning sunrise is the second most iconic feature in the Melfi skyline, the bell tower and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Of the original Norman cathedral construction of 1076 nothing remains except the bell tower which was an addition from 1153, at 50m it is the highest building in town. Melfi has been plagued with many massive earthquakes throughout the centuries with the last major event taking place in 1694 requiring the Romanic cathedral to be reconstructed, this time in the late Baroque style that we see today.
Melfi was the frontlines for the Norman empire hence the castle and cathedral being constructed there during the 11th century to cement their dominance over the region. The city is full of history, it was the first place that the church tried to shrug off the yoke of the Germanic Holy Roman Emperor’s with Pope Nicolò II in 1059 convening the first council of Melfi. I am sure most would have wished that was where the councils stopped but after three more councils there convened ending with the 1089 fifth council. From this fifth historic council it was decided that clergy would have the obligation of celibacy and worse still the Holy League was formed so beginning the preaching for the First Crusade.

Another photo form the morning in Hasliberg, when the light started hitting the mountains. It was a really beautiful morning and I think the soft warm morning light complements the dark rock of the mountain below the snow nicely.
When you have yourself you don't need anyone. You have the most important. Everything else is a complement.

A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views across volcanic eroded pinnacle formations in Pinnacles National Park. This was while walking the Moses Spring Trail. My thought on composing this image was to zoom in with the focal length and have much of the hillside with the pinnacle formations fill the image from edge to edge. There would be a little bit of blue skies above to complement the earth-tones in the rest of the image. I also included some nearby foreground, even though it was more in shadows, but I help felt it helped to create a layered look and lead a viewer into the main portion of the image.

As the iconic John Hancock building (1969) celebrates its 50th birthday, The Chicago Ave. pumping station of the historic water tower pictured here (1869) celebrates 150 years standing. It was only fitting to capture them together. The upscale Water Tower Place also makes the shot as it's white marble facade beautifully complements The black trusses of the Hancock.

The construction of Baldwin Cottage, a small-dorm complement to stately Talcott which rose more or less simultaneously next door, began soon after the 1886 fire which destroyed the Second Ladies Hall. It was named for Elbert Baldwin, a Cleveland dry goods merchant from whom Adelia Field Johnston, Oberlin's leading woman administrator, extracted a gift of $20,000. The village paper announced that Baldwin would be done "in the Queen Anne style, with broken roof lines, with the effect of earlier colonial houses" -- language suggesting that wonderfully elastic range of "Queen Anne". Weary and Kramer's design reached for the informal intimacy of a cottage look through variety in massing, texture, and detail. The studied unexpectedness of Baldwin's shapes--its squat tower, its low double-arched entry porch, the broad and gentle slopes of its roof lines, the episodic placement of its windows and dormers--made it a local triumph in the art of organic irregularity popularized by Henry Hobson Richardson. The roofing material, a warm red diamond-shaped tile, introduced a theme that would govern the campus building projects for the next 45 years. Dark, rich woodwork helped carry a friendly "nook-and-cranny" mood through the interior, making Baldwin one of the most durably popular living places on the campus.

This picture perfectly complements my post from yesterday's Great Garden in Dresden. Both pictures convey the same message: the longing for colors that we feel every spring (well, I certainly do).
But while in Dresden, wish fulfillment is already in full swing, here we are looking down from the summit of the Old Wildenstein into a dark and almost colorless valley. And that's not just because the forests in Saxon Switzerland have been severely affected by drought and bark beetles (although that, of course, also plays a part).
Because, in addition to many dead spruce trees, there are also a whole row of birch and beech trees over there. But they're just not ready yet.
And so our gaze clings to the bright green branches of the pine tree in front of us and the moss at its feet. While the setting sun at least briefly transforms the sky into a sea of warm hues.
Dieses Bild ergänzt hervorragend meinen gestrigen Post aus dem Großen Garten in Dresden. Denn beide Bilder tragen die selbe Botschaft in sich. Die Sehnsucht nach Farben, die wir jedes Jahr im Frühling empfinden (also ich auf jeden Fall).
Doch während in Dresden die Wunscherfüllung schon auf Hochtour läuft, blicken wir hier vom Gipfel das Alten Wildensteins noch hinab in ein dunkles und nahezu farbenfreies Tal. Und das liegt nicht nur an denen durch Trockenheit und Borkenkäfer stark in Mitleidenschaft gezogenen Wälder in der Sächsischen Schweiz (obwohl dies natürlich auch einen Anteil ausmacht).
Denn neben vielen toten Fichten stehen dort drüben auch eine ganze Reihe Birken und Buchen. Doch die sind halt noch nicht soweit.
Und so klammert sich der Blick an die leuchtend grünen Zweige der Kiefer, die vor uns steht und dem Moos zu ihren Füßen. Während die Untergehende Sonne wenigsten den Himmel für einen kurzen Zeitraum in ein Meer aus warmen Farbtönen verwandelt.

Continuing to take you on my journey around London's landmarks - got through just of 40000 steps according to my watch - this time I called into Covent Garden - liking the perspective on this planter, with the Red Telephone box as a blury complement.

The Göta Kanal which crosses Sweden is a very international place. Today I saw boats from : Ireland, Germany, Denmark and France as well as Sweden of course.

With the locomotive livery complementing its stock, 66051 “Maritime Intermodal Four” heads 6C03, DB Cargo’s 1033 Northolt – Avonmouth “Binliner” near Uffington on 4 December 2021.
As well as having a great archive of trains in the old Great Western area and further afield, D1059 Stephen Dance www.flickr.com/photos/d1059 has recorded some superb results around here particularly this autumn. Inspired by his work I'd intended to visit some of the locations on a Friday (planned around a family visit) but dull weather put me off. This left me just a couple of hours of sunshine on the Saturday afternoon.
With most of the leaves still on the trees I was pleased to get this shot but I had to be content mainly with IETs. Nonetheless I'm indebted to Stephen for his directions to some of the locations.
