Penguins are interesting birds, many people who can recognize a penguin from an image, sketch or film, have never seen a real penguin in their life. This Saw2day compilation, explores some interesting facts about penguins, that many of of us never knew.
Penguins are fascinating flightless birds uniquely adapted to life in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly in Antarctica. Unlike most birds, penguins have evolved flippers instead of wings, enabling them to be exceptional swimmers. Some species, such as the emperor penguin, can dive to depths exceeding 500 meters and hold their breath for over 20 minutes while hunting for fish and krill. Their distinctive black and white coloring, often called countershading, helps camouflage them from predators both above and below the water.
One of the most remarkable aspects of penguin behavior is their social structure. Many species live in large colonies that can number in the thousands, providing protection and warmth in extreme climates. Emperor penguins are especially notable for their breeding habits, where males incubate eggs on their feet during the harsh Antarctic winter, enduring freezing temperatures and strong winds.
Penguins also have specialized glands that filter salt from seawater, allowing them to drink directly from the ocean. Despite their cold habitat, they maintain body heat through dense feathers and a thick layer of fat. Interestingly, not all penguins live in icy environments; species like the Galápagos penguin inhabit warmer regions, demonstrating the adaptability of these remarkable birds.

This is a compilation of three scenes...the town houses on the left...restaurant on the right and the Chateau Frontenac on the top. I thought separately they were nice but together they worked perfectly. Created in 2004.
