3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Soldiers competed in the 2012 David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition, April 13-15, at Fort Benning, Ga. There were two teams representing The Old Guard. Team 22, Capt. Erik Edstrom and Staff Sgt. Sean McApline finished in 8th place and earned the Capt. Russell B. Rippetoe Trophy, an award presented annually to the Road March Winners at the Best Ranger Competition and Team 23, Sgt. 1st Class David Garver and Spc. Sheldon Benjamin finished in 28th place.

On Mar. 25, 2015, the CFB Special Olympics All Stars competed along with other area school districts in track and field events at Standridge Stadium. Attending dignitaries were Carrollton Mayor Matthew Marchant; Military and Veterans Liaison from Congressman Kenny Marchant's office, John Hayes; Monique Evans, Miss Texas 2014 and Superintendent Dr. Bobby Burns.

Presidium’s chess wizards participated in the brain game organized at Dwarka 22; where the players demonstrated great skills on the chessboard and the high scores with each move kept up the tempo of the game. The 4th Inter Presidium Chess Championship saw the great champions face off in an ornate battle of strategies and tactics.

 

Presidians enthusiastically participated in the championship and the winners were duly acknowledged with trophies, shields and certificate. The overall Best branch, Best Branch Boys & Girls trophies were won by Presidium, Indirapuram.

 

The competitive yet calm moves and playing styles were a testimony of Presidians developing the skills of concentration, critical thinking, abstract reasoning, problem solving, strategic planning, and analysis.

David decided to play on regardless to show his true grit amongst his team mates.

 

Whilst the others, including the pro golfer stood by, David made a show of showing the weather wouldn't put him off.

Soldiers compete against each other in a land navigation course and Army Warrior Tasks during the second day of the National Guard 2010 Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year Competition, held at the 298th Regional Training Institute, Waimanalo, and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The competition lasted three from April 30-May 2. Competitors came from Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.
