A prototype 3D-printed antenna being put to work in ESA’s Compact Antenna Test Facility, a shielded chamber for antenna and radio-frequency testing.
“This is the Agency’s first 3D-printed dual-reflector antenna,” explains engineer Maarten van der Vorst, who designed it.
“Incorporating a corrugated feedhorn and two reflectors, it has been printed all-in-one in a polymer, then plated with copper to meet its radio-frequency (RF) performance requirements.
“Designed for future mega-constellation small satellite platforms, it would need further qualification to make it suitable for real space missions, but at this stage we’re most interested in the consequences on RF performance of the low-cost 3D-printing process.”
“Although the surface finish is rougher than for a traditionally manufactured antenna, we’re very happy with the resulting performance,” says antenna test engineer Luis Rolo.
“We have a very good agreement between the measurements and the simulations. Making a simulation based on a complete 3D model of the antenna leads to a significant increase in its accuracy.
“By using this same model to 3D print it in a single piece, any source of assembly misalignments and errors are removed, enabling such excellent results.
Two different antennas were produced by Swiss company SWISSto12, employing a special copper-plating technique to coat the complex shapes.
“As a next step, we aim at more complex geometries and target higher frequencies,” adds Maarten, a member of ESA’s Electromagnetics & Space Environment Division. “And eventually we want to build space-qualified RF components for Earth observation and science instruments.”
Based at ESA’s ESTEC technical centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, the test range is isolated from outside electromagnetic radiation while its inside walls are covered with ‘anechoic’ foam to absorb radio signals, simulating infinite space.
The range is part of ESA’s suite of antenna testing facilities, intended for smaller antennas and subsystems, with larger antennas and entire satellites put to the test in its ‘big brother’, the Hertz chamber.

Decided to pick up RAGE again. I played the game a few times, but it never really clicked with me, so I never really got that far. I decided to give it another try. I am really trying to get ReShade working on this game, but it doesn't seem to work, I know it should work since I checked the compatibility list for ReShade. If there is anybody that can help, it would be much appreciated. Besides that, on a graphical standpoint, this game looks pretty good. The textures are not that great, but for lighting and art design, it is really friggin' good.

After many iterations, I finally completed a warthog design I’m happy with! I ultimately chose the smallest possible scale that still fit the correct number of figures based on Halo CE. Being such a small scale allows easier compatibility with larger vehicles if I expand my Halo collection in the future!

Ana woke to the faint sense of someone’s presence.
The monitor beside her bed flickered softly, and the air was thick with the scent of antiseptic.
From the bed next to hers, Justin’s eyes were fixed straight on her face as she slept.
The anger that had once burned in those eyes during his televised speeches was gone, replaced by a gentle, almost tender light.
“Thank you. Truly…”
His voice trembled faintly, and behind his words lingered a fragile honesty.
Ana narrowed her eyes slightly.
“You don’t need a reason to save someone. Bombay Blood… it doesn’t let you choose who to give it to.”
He smiled faintly, turning his gaze toward the ceiling as if to hide the shallowness of his breath.
“I’ve never been the kind of man to entrust my life to anyone. At least—not until yesterday.”
A quiet silence settled between them before he went on.
“I used to believe politics was a job without blood. Votes, numbers, negotiations—that’s all it was supposed to be.”
“But it wasn’t?” Ana asked softly.
“No.”
Justin let out a sigh.
“The thought that someone else’s blood is flowing inside me—it’s terrifying, if I stop to think about it.
And yet… at the same time, I’ve never felt so alive. Not once in my life.”
Ana tilted her head slightly.
“Alive?”
“The moment I was shot, I truly thought I was going to die. But people risked their lives to protect me. Someone made a choice that could have killed them instead of me. I only now realize how much that means—beyond anything words can express.”
His tone lacked the sharpness, the calculated rhythm of a politician’s speech. It was simply the voice of a man trying to measure the weight of his own life.
Ana smiled faintly.
“Then maybe now… you could give your blood to someone else?”
Justin gave a wry smile and lowered his eyes.
“Maybe. But first, I think I should repay the debt to the one who brought me back to life.”
At that moment, a faint crackle from a security radio came from beyond the door.
Justin’s recovery had not yet been made public. But his survival would—sooner or later—shake the election, and perhaps even the world.
Ana forgot all of that.
All she felt was a quiet astonishment that the blood that once flowed in her own body was now pulsing within another.
The door opened quietly.
The sharp sound of heels struck the floor, and a faint scent of rosemary drifted in.
The woman who entered wore a disposable polyethylene gown, shoe covers, and a thin hair cap. It was Eleanor.
Her gaze moved from Ana to Justin, pausing on each of their faces.
“I’m sorry to interrupt,” she said, her voice calm, though Ana sensed the precision of carefully measured emotion beneath it.
When Ana started to rise, Eleanor raised a hand to stop her.
“You must be Ms. Anaya… Thank you. Thank you for saving him.”
She took Justin’s hand briefly, then looked Ana straight in the eye.
“No amount of gratitude could ever be enough. To borrow a life—such a thing hardly ever happens.”
Ana nodded faintly, unsure how to respond.
“I only did what I could.”
Justin looked at Eleanor and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“If it weren’t for her, I’d probably be… in a coffin instead of a campaign.”
The remark was half in jest, but carried a trace of self-mockery.
Eleanor kept her smile, placing a hand gently on Ana’s shoulder.
“You may not realize it yet—but what you’ve done might one day mean something to this country. You’ll understand, eventually.”
Without a knock, the door opened again.
A woman in a white coat stepped in, her movements precise, her expression sharp. It was Dr. Sasha Wilson, head of emergency medicine at Bellevue Hospital.
Her hair was tied neatly back, and she held a tablet in one hand.
“Ms. Anaya Patel,” Sasha said, bowing slightly.
“Thank you for your cooperation. The transfusion of Bombay Blood could not have been performed so swiftly without you.”
She glanced down at her tablet and continued in a tone that was businesslike, yet respectful.
“There is no further medical need for you to remain. You are officially cleared for discharge.”
Ana exhaled deeply and nodded.
“Your belongings will be returned in the lobby. If you require an escort, security can—”
“That won’t be necessary,” Ana replied at once.
Sasha looked momentarily surprised, then nodded in understanding.
Justin spoke up quietly.
“Miss Patel… will I see you again?”
Ana stopped in her tracks.
The air in the room seemed to tremble faintly behind her. Eleanor said nothing.
“I hope,” Ana said softly, turning toward them, “that I will never again have reason to meet a presidential candidate.”
She smiled—a smile that held both warmth and distance.
Meanwhile, at a newsstand on the corner, tabloid headlines blared stories of Justin and Eleanor’s engagement.
Rumors spread that their wedding would be held before the Electoral College vote in December—a symbolic show of unity meant to sway the coming election, whatever the outcome.
Eleanor seemed to search for words, but lowered her gaze instead.
When Sasha opened the door, Ana stepped out.
The hush of the automatic doors closing behind her sounded like the end of a quiet ritual.
In the corridor, Elijah was waiting.
“Take me to Arjun,” Ana said.
She had to do something—anything—for Arjun, who had killed for her.
Her chest was restless, her breath uneven.
In the back seat of the patrol car, Ana clasped her hands tightly, her knees tense.
The Brooklyn night was warm and heavy, the police radio hissing with bursts of static.
“The shooter was Arjun Singh, right?” the young officer in the passenger seat asked, without turning around.
“Yes… it was him. If he hadn’t fired, I—”
“We know, Ms. Patel. The cameras caught everything, and the witnesses agree. It’s clear self-defense. Without him, you’d be dead.”
The older officer at the wheel grunted his assent.
Ana nodded silently.
The instant the gun was raised toward her inside Totto Ramen, everything had slowed to a crawl.
Then, a gunshot from behind—its echo still lived in the back of her mind.
“Here we are.”
The patrol car stopped outside the NYPD Midtown South Precinct.
The concrete building’s exterior lights glowed pale against the night sky.
Along 35th Street, the dark glass doors reflected the letters:
“NYPD MIDTOWN SOUTH PRECINCT.”
A few steps led up to double glass doors, flanked by blue garage bays for police vehicles.
Rows of vertical concrete pillars gave the building a stern, almost solemn dignity.
Accompanied by the officers, Ana entered the station and was led to a small interview room.
Inside sat Arjun—unharmed, composed, waiting.
“Ana…”
His voice was low, unsteady.
She said nothing, walked toward him, and took a seat.
“I’m so glad you’re safe…”
Tears welled suddenly in Arjun’s eyes—the first she had ever seen from him.
His shoulders trembled, his body drawn inward.
Seeing his fragility, Ana’s eyes softened, and she too began to cry.
“Thank you… truly, thank you.”
Silence fell between them—not heavy, but deep, a silence of shared relief.
Then came a knock, and the lead detective entered.
“All evidence is consistent—surveillance footage, witnesses, audio. With Ms. Patel’s statement, we have no issue. Arjun Singh, you are hereby released.”
As the paperwork was signed, Arjun rose.
He shook the officer’s hand firmly, saying nothing.
Together they stepped out into the night.
The sky was low, covered in dark clouds, but no rain fell. Streetlights spilled quiet pools of light across the pavement.
A young patrolman waited by the car.
“We’ll drive you home to Paramus. Can’t have you caught up in another incident,” he said with a wink, opening the door.
They smiled faintly and got in.
Neither spoke.
Only now and then did their fingers brush—until their hands naturally found each other.
Ana’s phone buzzed in her pocket. A message from Mika.
“Tomorrow’s the exhibit at Domino Park. The kids are excited. Rest tonight. Leave it to me.”
Ana looked at the screen and smiled faintly. The bluish light reflected across her tired face.
“It’s from Mika,” she murmured. “She says she’ll handle the whole exhibition tomorrow.”
Arjun raised his brows slightly and smiled.
“It’s a good thing—to have people who can keep things moving, even when you’re not there.”
“Yeah…” Ana whispered, resting her forehead gently against his chest.

アナは人の気配で目を覚ました。
ベッド脇のモニターが静かに点滅し、消毒液の匂いが空気を満たしている。
隣のベッドに寝ているジャスティンの視線が、まっすぐにアナの寝顔に注がれていた。その瞳は、テレビの演説で怒りに満ちたものとはまるで別人のように、穏やかで柔らかい光を湛えていた。
「ありがとう。ほんとに……」
彼は、言葉の奥に素直な脆さをにじませて、かすかに唇を震わせた。
アナは、目を細めた。
「助けるのに、理由なんて不要です。ボンベイブラッドは…… 選べる相手じゃないから‥」
彼はうっすら笑って、呼吸の浅さを隠すように視線を天井に向けた。
「僕は、他人に命を預けるなんて性格じゃない。少なくとも、昨日まではそうだった」
しばらく沈黙が流れたあと、彼はぽつりと続けた。
「政治家は、血の通ってない仕事だって、いつからか信じてた。票と数字と、駆け引き。それだけで十分だって」
「でも違った？」とアナが小声で訊いた。
「違ったよ」
ジャスティンはため息をひとつ漏らした。
「人の血が、自分の身体に入ってきてるなんて、冷静に考えたら怖くてたまらない。でも── 同時に、なんか……信じられないくらい、生きてるって気がした。初めてだ」
アナは首をかしげた。
「生きてるって？」
「撃たれた瞬間……たぶん、本当に死ぬって思った。でも、こんな自分をみんなが守ってくれた。誰かが“僕の代わりに死ぬ可能性のある選択”をしてくれたんだ。そこに言葉以上の意味があるということに今さら気づいたよ」
ジャスティンの口調には、いつもの弁舌のキレや、攻撃性はなかった。ただ素直に、自分の命の重さを計ろうとしている男の声だった。
アナは少しだけ微笑んだ。
「じゃあ、いまのあなたなら…… 別の誰かにも血をあげられると思う？」
ジャスティンは苦笑しながらも、目を伏せた。
「たぶん。……でもその前に、まずは誰かに生き返らされた借りを、返す方が先だな」
そのとき、扉の向こうで警備の無線がかすかに響いた。
ジャスティンの回復はまだ公表されていない。だが、彼の生還は──今後の選挙戦を、世界を、何か大きく動かすことになる。
アナはそんなことも忘れて、ただ、自分の中に流れていた血が、今、別の身体の中で鼓動を打っていることに、静かな驚きを感じていた。
病室のドアが静かに開いた。
ピンヒールの音が床を軽く叩き、ほのかにローズマリーの香水が漂った。
入ってきたのは、不透明なポリエチレン素材のディスポーザブル・ガウンと、靴カバー、薄いヘアキャップを被ったエリノアだった。
彼女の視線が、ベッドのアナと、ジャスティンの顔を一度ずつ確認した。
「ごめんなさい。邪魔して」
声は穏やかだったが、その言葉の裏に、緻密な感情の計算が見え隠れしているようにアナには感じた。
アナが起きあがろうとすると、エリノアが手を上げて制した。
「あなたが、アナヤさんね。……彼を救ってくれて、本当にありがとう」
エリノアはジャスティンの手を一瞬だけ握ったあと、まっすぐアナの目を見て言った。
「どれだけ感謝しても足りないわ。命を借りるなんてこと──滅多に起きることじゃないもの」
アナは少し戸惑いながらも、軽くうなずいた。
「私は、できることをしただけです」
ジャスティンはエリノアを見て、少しだけ目を細めた。
「彼女がいなかったら、今ごろ僕は……選挙どころか、棺桶の中だったかもな」
冗談めかした口調には、薄い自嘲がにじんでいた。
エリノアは微笑を崩さず、アナの肩に手を添えた。
「今はまだ、きっと実感も湧かないでしょうけど──あなたがしくれたことが、この国に意味のあることに繋げられたらと思います。いつか、きっと、後になってわかるわ」
再びドアがノックもなく開いた。
白衣を翻して入ってきたのは、ベルビュー病院の救急部主任、サーシャ・ウィルソンだった。髪を後ろでまとめ、鋭い視線とプロフェッショナルな所作だった。彼女は手にタブレットを持っていた。
「アナヤ・パテルさん」
サーシャが小さく頭を下げた。
「ご協力、ありがとうございました。ボンベイブラッドの輸血をここで即座に行えたのは、あなたのおかげです」
タブレットに目を落としながら、彼女は事務的だが敬意のある口調で続けた。
「今後、追加の医療的処置は不要と判断されました。正式に、ご退院いただいて構いません」
アナは息をひとつ吐き、深くうなずいた。
「着替えなどはロビーでお渡しします。付き添いが必要な場合は、セキュリティに──」
「必要ないです」とアナは即答した。
その言葉に、サーシャは一瞬だけ意外そうな目をしたが、すぐに納得したように肯いた。
ジャスティンが小さく声をかけた。
「……ミス・パテル、また会える？」
アナは立ち止まった。
彼女の背中越しに、病室の空気がわずかに揺れた。エリノアは沈黙していた。
「私が今後、二度と大統領候補に会うことがないよう……私はお祈りします」
そう言って振り返ると、彼女はエリノアとジャスティンへ微笑んだ。その声には、あたたかさと距離感が同時に宿っていた。
一方、街角のニューススタンドに並ぶゴシップ誌の見出しには、二人の婚約記事が踊っていた。結婚式は選挙人団投票が行われる十二月までに挙げられる──そんな噂が流布していたのだ。大統領選の結果にかかわらず、強い絆を示すことで次の選挙戦に影響を与えようという思惑さえ透けて見える。
エリノアは言葉を探しているようだったが、何も言わずに視線を下げた。
サーシャがドアを開けると、アナは、ゆっくりと病室を出た。
自動ドアの閉まる音が、まるである種の儀式の終わりを告げるように、静かに空間を切り分けた。
通路で待機していたイライジャに、アナはいった。
「アルジュンにすぐ会わせて」
私のために射殺したアルジュンをなんとかしなくては‥‥ アナの胸はざわめいていた。
パトカーの後部座席で、アナは手を組んだまま、膝に力が入るのを抑えられなかった。ブルックリンの夜はぬるく、車内には警官の無線が時おりノイズ混じりに鳴っていた。
「撃ったのは、アルジュン・シンですよね？」助手席の若い警官が後ろを振り向かずに尋ねた。
「はい……彼です。撃たなければ、私は──」
「わかってますよ、アナヤさん。防犯カメラもあったし、店内の証言も一致してる。完全な正当防衛です。彼がいなければ、あなたは殺されていたでしょう。」
運転席の年配の警官が相槌を打った。
アナも無言で肯いた。トットラーメンの店内で、銃口を彼女に向けた瞬間、すべてがスローモーションになった。次の刹那、背後から響いた銃声。その音を、アナはいまだ耳の奥に抱えていた。
「ここです」
パトカーが停まったのは、マンハッタン南部ミッドタウン第14分署だ。コンクリートの庁舎の外灯が、夜の空に白く滲んでいた。
35丁目沿い、沈んだ色のガラス扉を備えた建物正面には、“NYPD MIDTOWN SOUTH PRECINCT”という黒いプレートがコンクリート壁に浮かんでいた。三段ほどの階段を昇ると、ガラス製の両開きドアがあり、その両脇には警察車両用のブルーのガレージドアが並んでいる。縦に走るコンクリートの柱が数列に分かれ、シンプルながら威厳と緊張感を醸し出していた。
アナは警官に付き添われて署内へ入った。手続き室の奥、面会用の小さな部屋に案内されると、アルジュンが無傷のまま、落ち着いた表情で座っていた。
「アナ……」
彼の声は低く、揺れていた。アナは言葉を発せず、そのまま歩み寄り、椅子に腰を下ろした。
「よかった、無事だね……」
アルジュンの目から一瞬にして大粒の涙が溢れた。アナが彼に出会ってから初めての涙だった。体の線が縮まり、細かく震えている。その弱々しい彼の姿にアナの瞳も緩んだ。アナも同じように涙を零していた。
「ありがとう、ほんとうに、ありがとう」
ふたりのあいだに沈黙が落ちたが、それは重苦しいものではなく、互いの無事を確かめ合う、深い静寂だった。
やがて扉がノックされ、担当刑事が入ってきた。
「証拠は揃ってる。監視映像、目撃者、店内の録音。アナさんの証言も加われば、釈放は問題ない。アルジュン・シンさん、正式に解放します」
その場で釈放の手続きが進められ、アルジュンは立ち上がった。
警官が手を差し出すとアルジュンは黙って頷き、握り返した。
ふたりは夜の街へ出た。空は低く黒い雲に覆われていたが、雨は降らず、街灯が静かに歩道を照らしていた。
若い巡査が外で待っていた。
「パラマスのご自宅まで送りますよ。犯罪に巻き込まれます」
彼は軽くウィンクして、パトカーの後部扉を開いた。
二人は笑顔で返し、乗り込んだ。車内で、会話はなかった。ただ、アナとアルジュンの指先がときおり触れ、手が自然に重なった。
アナのポケットのスマホが振動した。ミカからのメッセージだった。
「あしたは、ドミノパークで展示。子どもたちも楽しみにしてる。あなたはゆっくり休んで。任せて」
アナは画面を見つめ、小さく微笑んだ。暗い車内で反射した青白い光が疲れた横顔を照らし滲ませた。
「ミカから。……明日の展示、彼女が全部やってくれるって」
アルジュンが少しだけ眉を上げ、口元を緩めた。
「君がいなくても、動いてくれる人がいるって、いいことだな」
「うん……」
アナはそう静かに応えると彼の胸にそっと額を預けた。

The Glow Up Project
Hey beths! Long time, no see!
Behind the scenes, there is a long list of projects that I have been working on for both Flesh and in collaboration with some amazing brands. My favorite project has been one of passion: The Glow Up Project. It was born out of the constant desire to improve my skills as a designer but also out of my attachment to my old skins. As a part of this project, I have taken some of my favorite previous releases and given them a facelift. Some of the improvements are minor and will be redelivered as free updates while others are complete reworks and will require a new purchase. I hope you all enjoy this project as much as I have.

Wow! What an entry pool- you guys made this judging really tough. But, as I only have so many prizes to give out, I had to narrow the winners down to three dragons and one figure. So, without further ado, the winners of the “(Not) LEGO Dragon Lands” Dragon-Building Contest are as follows:
1st Place: Brother Steven’s “Stórhǫggvi!”
Ever since Brother Steven submitted this gorgeous dragon early on in the competition, I knew it’d be the entry to beat… well proportioned, impeccably color-blocked, and excellently sculpted, this is just a lovely build. The round scale motif used across the body – which, cleverly, uses studded surfaces to its advantage – the toothy mouth (complete with tongue!), and the curves of the back spikes are just some of the details I relish the most. Sir Roland is a clean figure (the cape/glove coordination gets me) with a definite “St. George” flavor, perfect to counterpoint the dragon. Overall, this was a wonderful build that I was honored to receive!
2nd Place: d’Qiu Brick’s “Fryse!”
I was extremely impressed by this entry when I first saw it, and I still find new, original part usages every time I look at it! Simply put, I’ve never encountered a LEGO dragon quite like this one… The fusion of BIONICLE and system elements here is balanced, and allows for a remarkable trans-dominated color scheme that incorporates some very difficult-to-use elements to make dynamic shapes. The BIONICLE eyepieces as jaws are absolutely inspired, and I really love the interior wing cut pattern. The Lyscian mage figure helps place this entry in a distinctive, intriguing genre. Great work, d’Qiu Brick!
3rd Place: SpicyGrievous’ “Smaug the Impenetrable!”
This entry was one of the last sent in, but I’m extremely glad SpicyGrievous made the deadline! This version of Smaug looks just the way I imagined him as a kid… tremendous and impenetrable, serpentine and regal. The color choices themselves are solid, and they’re solidly blocked throughout this build. The texture along the spine is wonderful, as are all the angles of the body and limbs. My favorite part of this build is the head, though: flawlessly shaped, with an impressive crest and teeth to boot! The gilded underbelly was a charming final touch. I hope you post more pictures, SpicyGrievous, as I’d love to get a more in-depth look at the build!
Best Minifigure: Zelcher, from genecyst’s “Hasai!”
Aside from giving this figure a neat backstory, I found the employment of the Elves hairpiece with the bandana to be just awesome. Zelcher’s got neat weapons and a neat cape; what more can you ask for? Cool combos, genecyst!

But I don’t want the rest of you to feel left out! Even though I don’t have prizes enough to give you, I figured you might enjoy hearing my thoughts on your entries. So here they are:
Nacht: I love the premise of a black undead-style dragon, as you’ve executed it here- the Radgha-esque skeletal frame really looks neat in darker colors. Your entry pic itself is also quite dynamic.
Thorny: Certainly a thorny dragon! You worked an impressive number of spines into the build. The cameraman is a highly original touch.
Lineback Ice Dragon: I like the color scheme; it reads as “icy” right away! And I like the cast of characters you included, especially the meat-eating goblin.
Hommer’s Dragon: I really enjoyed getting this entry… it was insouciant and wacky (and I’m a Simpsons fan!) so it made me laugh, but beyond that the dragon itself is pretty solid, too. The neck and feet are my favorite bits.
Hatchling: Succinct and effective. I wish the robot legs actually came in a color like that.
Wyvern: Nice color choices, unified without being blasé… Those daggers as claws, and the long tail, made this entry distinctive.
Hermdaryrði: HONORABLE MENTION! Those wings are, as I already said, gorgeously clean, as is a lot of the rest of the build; I really liked the brutish face you achieved, and the use of those Knights Kingdom armor bits along the spine. This dragon rocked, rather than fought, a grayscale color scheme, which I respected.
Arsimis: The setting you built here really helped frame the entry. Nice variety on the orc figures, too!
Derolth Eater of Sheep: The green-on-red contrast made this entry jump out to me right away! It’s a classic dragon color scheme, vibrant and exciting. The cow horns are sweet – I want to use those at some point, now – as is the red-hooded archer you included.
Ulysses: The beard/hat combo you used on Vencar aside (I love it), this is a sturdy-looking beast that seems ready to trample off to war! The entry’s definitely completed by that orc army you included.
Perilously Ascending Dragon: What a diorama! The lava is wonderfully realized, as are the rocks, but the scene’s obviously stolen by the dragon bursting forth… Love the wings, and the detail you packed into the head. I especially like the shape of that chin.
The Dragon of Peliger: There’s a certain charm to this low-legged, hefty beast. Its crest is unique and dynamic, and its simple colors make a real statement against the red backdrop you chose. Nice rider, as well: the fur-lined helmet and scarf combo is a satisfying one!
Belerogrim: HONORABLE MENTION! You definitely used the unlimited scale and color possibilities afforded by LDD to create a singular and impressive beast. This is an extremely intricate build, and every time I look at it I discover another detail… the ring-scales lend this well-shaped dragon excellent texture. I like the subtle, earthy color scheme and the sculpture on the head.
Rågòthîs: Cool figures, especially Lich Clörtil! I like the mace-tail on the dragon itself.
Hasai: I appreciated the variety this eastern-flavored dragon brought to the entry pool! This dragon’s got a very Ninjago-inspired look, and you made sweet, clean color choices. Obviously I’m a big fan of Zelcher, but I also like the shape of the saddle you made for her.
Bat-Dragon: Another entry with a singular flavor. Bat-dragon? I never would’ve seen it coming! This is a really neat beast, nicely unified by good texture choices. The detailing of the head, particularly the nose and the ears, makes me quite happy.
Pebbles: Reminisces the Ninjago style, too, to nice effect. I dig the way you cut those wings, and the head’s got a lot of leonine spunk!
Shadesbane: You squeezed a ton of poseability and character into such a small entry. The head’s adorable and well formed, and I enjoyed the trans-blue touches.
Earthen Dragon: Four wings are better than two, it seems! Nifty choice about the wings, and well done on the dragon proper, too; the palm tree tail and leafy legs give your entry distinctive elemental affiliation. The rider gets an HONORABLE MENTION for best figure, too!
Náyl: Excellent and dynamic texturing on this dragon. I love the choice of orange alongside the various hues of layered grey. You did a good job of covering poseability gaps with armor, too.
The Face of Death: The neck design here takes the cake, but I also enjoyed a lot of what you achieved on the head… The full set of teeth is pretty sweet. This is a lovely, nightmarish dragon. I like the outland raider figures you included!
Baal: I like how you really bulked up my basic dragon frame here. The entry looks muscular and dangerous! Nice color coordination with the rider.
Drachentöter: The bits of this dragon that poke out of that treasure cave are wonderful! I think the eye section on the main creature is perfect. Ashei with her oversized sword (and Unikitty trophy) and the baby dragon with its oversized eyes create a fun, playful tone to this entry.
Dark Dragon: The cool jagged texturing makes the monochromatic color scheme work in your favor, here. I like your choice of wing material, and dig the ferocious head!
Frost Dragon: Excellent use of my basic dragon design to make a distinctive new creature. I also can’t get over how you included a spring-loaded Spell Launcher in the supplemental part of the entry; I feel so studied!
Grass Dragon: Another slick reworking of my general dragon framework! This dragon’s quite vibrant, which I really approve of- nice use of lime. The troll warrior’s nifty, I enjoy the helmet/pauldron combo as well as the ruby axe.
Mechanical Dragon: What a unique decision! I’ve been personally toying with the idea of making a mechanical/clockwork dragon for a while, and you’ve definitely given me lots of cool ideas. I like your use of the nets.
Faerie Dragon: I adore the sail wings, and appreciate how you stuck to a simple color scheme… Trans-blue and white are proven scientifically to look good together; with the purple wings, they become more interesting at no cost to their compatibility. The front paws are rather clever.
Glowkie Dragon: Cute… The underbite gives it a lot of character.
Dragon Bolt: The size of this entry astonished me. It’s not often you encounter a dragon MOC big enough to carry a full-sized Hero Factory character on its back! The scale you worked at makes the CCBS shells on the back look like scales, which is an awesome texture.

The summer light of Manhattan afternoons flared against the glass facades of the high-rises, and each time the heat of the asphalt wavered through the alleys, the massive building of the FBI’s New York Field Office seemed to draw in the clamor of the city, holding a grave and immovable stillness, while within its walls a taut tension and vigilance seeped forth. Beyond the thick iron doors set into its corner, the countless eyes of surveillance cameras interlaced with the motions of guards, proclaiming an order unshaken by the heat waves or the murmur of the crowd outside.
Special Agent Veronica Reeves, carrying the weight of long years of experience yet with a gaze still honed to an unerring edge, sat at the long desk by the window, quietly deciphering the thick bundle of reports spread before her—accounts of what had unfolded thus far. The shafts of heat-laden sunlight pressed through the glass, warping the air, and against that trembling her thoughts held fast, focusing upon the minutiae, drawing out, in three dimensions, the possibilities of the case and the breadth of its consequences.
The figures and map symbols inscribed upon the documents she reassembled in her mind, as though enfolding the arteries of the overheated city itself—the courses of traffic, the currents of people, the compression of the skyline—ordering the incident’s first movements with a hand imbued with a quiet, frigid certainty. The sterile white light of the ceiling LEDs cast swaying shadows upon the papers, and even those faint tremors at the edges of her sight seemed to enter her calculus, like unknown variables absorbed into the mesh of her analysis.
Her fingertip traced a single point upon the map, and in that gesture she drew together the city’s flows, the density of its crowds, the thicket of its structures, conjuring within her mind a three-dimensional rendering of the ground. The clash of red and blue signals at intersections, the exhaust drifting at corners, the tempo of footsteps, the shadows of cars idling at the curb—all converged upon the figures and symbols of the page, lifting before her the living geometry of New York.
Fragments of reports crackled from radios and telephones, slipping into her net of thought and fixed into the coordinates of time and place. At what moment, in what place, had the current of the crowd shifted? Who might have slipped within which building? The jam of traffic, the swell of onlookers, the frameworks of the structures—these she aligned, reducing error to its smallest margin, until the hidden contours of the scene emerged.
Her eyes remained calm, but the faint tightening of the muscles around them betrayed the sense of danger running beneath. With her finger pressing upon a point on the map, she drew upon the memory of old cases, of the city’s blueprints, calculating risk along each imagined path. The city’s shape, the crowd’s density, the placing of exits—all she set upon a grid of logic, hypothesizing every possible turn the future might take.
Her gaze halted upon a photograph in the file, parsing the expressions of the crowd, the disposition of guards, the position of obstacles. Cold though her eyes remained, they missed no dissonance, no trace of the unnatural, intent upon catching every variable within the net of reason, undistracted by the fever of the summer city.
In the office, where the cool of the air conditioning crossed with the heat outside, her thoughts gathered speed—silent, assured, relentless. What would unfold next? Which routes were safe, which led into peril? Each decision, measured in the span of a heartbeat, bore upon the safety of the crowd, upon the life of the candidate. Her logic did not waver, its threads weaving together in her hand like cords unraveling the complexity of the city.
Before her stood not only the files, but also the glow of monitors, the static of radios. Each was but a source of fragments, meaningless until passed through the filter of her thought. To bind data to the streets, images to reality, was the task at hand, advancing cold and quiet even as the heat of summer pressed against the glass.
The sweltering air outside rattled the windows; the distant sirens and the rumble of the city did not shatter her focus, but rather deepened her mental simulation, lending depth to the field she constructed within. Figures on the page fused with the living breath of the streets, reason drawing them together into clarity, and she readied herself to strike upon the next move.
Each sweep of her fingertip across the map made the city’s avenues rise in relief within her mind: the density of buildings, the movement of passersby, the gaze of cameras, the stations of guards. All chained together, cold and inexorable, suggesting the next action. Veronica drew a long breath, and with her exhale, wove the scattered variables into a single fabric, fixing her gaze upon the heart of the incident. In that moment, the distant sirens, the horns, the shuffling of feet at a crosswalk—all dissolved into her reasoning, each sound settling into place like a piece of a puzzle within the flow of logic. The city shimmered in heat, light and shadow in feverish scatter, but her mind cut through the glare, quietly tracing the full outline of the unfolding event.
At last, Veronica lifted the receiver of the internal line, feeling the cold resin beneath her fingers, and summoned Deputy Special Agent Elliot.
“Put me through to Jack Vance, Secret Service.”
“Understood.”
The black Ford SUV cut through the summer heat, racing down the streets. At the wheel, Jack’s profile was set with strain, while in the backseat Ana leaned forward, arms stretched protectively over the children, shouting in desperation.
“Keep your eyes ahead, Jack!”
The children, jolted by the car’s violent tremors, cried out with voices that wavered between cheers and screams, unable to discern the line between fear and thrill. Beside them, Mika bit her lip, struck dumb, staring in mute shock.
Behind them, the pursuing car roared, bullets sparking off the asphalt and leaving the acrid tang of gunpowder in the air. Jack twisted the wheel, his Ford scraping sparks along a wall of concrete, gunfire rattling through the city’s very skin. Ignoring lights and crowds alike, he veered the SUV up onto the sidewalk, plunging forward as screams scattered into the air, driving on as if to outpace the terror that pursued them.

マンハッタンの夏の午後の光が高層ビル群のガラスにぎらつき、アスファルトの熱気が路地を揺らすたびに、FBIニューヨーク支局の巨大な建物は都市の喧騒を吸い込み、どっしりと静けさを保ちながらも、その内部に張り詰めた警戒と緊張をにじませていた。その角に設えられた厚い鉄の扉の向こうでは、監視カメラの無数の視線と警備員の動きが絡み合い、外界の熱波や人々のざわめきにも揺るがぬ秩序を守っていることを告げていた。
ヴェロニカ・リーヴス特別捜査官は、豊富な経験を背負いながらもなお研ぎ澄まされた眼差しで、窓際の長机に広げられた、これまでに起こった報告がまとめられた資料の束を静かに読み解いていた。差し込んだ外光の熱の束が窓ガラスを透かし、空気を歪ませ、彼女の思考はそれに抗うように細部まで集中され、事件の可能性や影響範囲を論理の中に立体的に描き出していった。
書類に記された数字や地図の記号を、熱せられた街の動線や人々の流れ、ビルの密集度までを含めるかのように頭の中で再構築し、事件の初動を論理的に整理していく手つきには、冷たくも静かな確信が宿っていた。
天井のLEDの白い光が、紙面に落ちる影を揺らし、視界の隅で振れるその影さえも、未知の変数として分析に取り込まれているかのようであった。
ヴェロニカは指先で地図上の一点をなぞり、都市の動線、人の密度、建築の密集度を瞬時に組み合わせ、頭の中で現場の立体的な状況を描き出していた。信号の赤や青が交錯する交差点、街角に漂う排気ガスの匂い、通行人の歩行速度、路上に停められた車の影――それらすべてが、紙面の数字や地図上の印と結びつき、ニューヨークという巨大な都市の立体的な動線を彼女の思考に浮かび上がらせた。
無線や電話からの断片的な報告も、彼女の分析の網に吸い込まれ、時間と空間に配置される。どの瞬間に、どの場所で、人々の流れが変化したか。誰がどの建物に潜入した可能性があるか。交通の混雑状況と、観衆の動き、建築物の構造を組み合わせ、最小の推測誤差で現場の全貌を描く。
彼女の瞳は冷静そのもので、しかし微細な筋肉の緊張が、その奥に潜む危機意識を示していた。手元の地図の一点を指でなぞり、過去の事件や都市計画のデータを呼び出しながら、シナリオごとにリスクを計算する。都市の構造、観衆の密度、出口の配置――あらゆる要素を論理のグリッドに沿って並べ、想像されるすべての事態を仮定する。
ヴェロニカは資料の中の写真に目を留め、観衆の表情や警備員の配置、障害物の位置を詳細に分析した。その視線は冷徹でありながらも、微細な違和感や不自然さを見逃さず、都市の熱気に流されることなく、論理の網の中に全ての変数を捕らえようとしていた。
冷房の空気と夏の熱気が交錯するオフィス内で、彼女の思考は静かに、しかし確実に速度を上げていく。次に何が起こりうるか、どのルートが安全で、どのルートが危険か。瞬間ごとの判断が、観衆の安全と候補者の命を左右する。論理は揺るぎなく、都市の複雑さを紐解く糸のように彼女の手の中で絡まり合った。
彼女の前には資料だけでなく、コンピュータの画面や無線のディスプレイも並ぶ。それらは断片的な情報の源にすぎず、ヴェロニカの思考というフィルターを通すことで初めて意味を持つ。データと現実の光景を繋ぎ、事件の全体像を構築する作業は、夏の街の熱気の中でも冷たく静かに進行した。
外の熱気は窓ガラスを揺らし、街のざわめきや遠くで響くサイレンは、彼女の集中をかき乱すどころか、逆に現場の臨場感を補強し、頭の中のシミュレーションに奥行きを与えた。紙面の数字と街の実像が、冷たい理性の中で重なり合い、彼女は次の一手を論理的に導き出す準備を整えていった。
彼女の指先が地図をなぞるたび、都市の街路が脳内で立体的に浮かび上がり、建物の密度、通行人の流れ、監視カメラの視野、警備員の位置が、冷徹な論理の中で連鎖し、次の行動を示唆する。ヴェロニカは深く息を吸い、吐き出すと同時に、無言のうちに全ての変数を繋ぎ合わせ、事件の核心へと視線を固定した。その瞬間、遠くの街路から聞こえるサイレンの音や車のクラクション、交差点で立ち止まる人々の足音が、彼女の頭の中ではパズルのピースとなり、論理的な流れの中に溶け込んでいった。都市は暑さに揺れ、光と影が乱反射するが、ヴェロニカの思考は静かに、その熱気を透過して事件の全体像を描き出していった。
ヴェロニカは、静かに内線電話の受話器を手に取り、その冷たい樹脂の感触を指先で確かめながら、エリオット副特別捜査官を呼び出し、いった。

黒のSUVフォードは、夏の熱気を押し裂くように街路を駆け抜けた。ハンドルを握るジャックの横顔には焦燥が張りつき、後部座席に身を寄せたアナは、子供たちを庇うように腕を伸ばしながら、それでも必死に声を張り上げた。
「前を見て、ジャック！」
車体の振動に身を揺らしながら、子供たちは歓声とも悲鳴ともつかぬ声をあげ、恐怖と興奮の境を知らぬままに叫んでいる。その隣でミカは唇を噛み、言葉を失ったまま呆然としている。
背後では追撃の車が唸りを上げ、硝煙の匂いを残して弾丸がアスファルトを跳ねた。ハンドルを切ったジャックの車体がコンクリート壁面に火花が散らせた。都市の皮膚を削るようにして銃声が響く。ジャックのフォードは信号も人波も無視し、歩道へと飛び込み、群衆の悲鳴を振り払うように疾走した。

During a speech at Madison Square Garden, Republican presidential candidate Justin Bradford is shot. Almost simultaneously in Los Angeles, former president Owen Reed is attacked at a rally for Democratic hopeful Ryan Bennett.
Two assassinations—mirroring one another—ignite a nation’s deepest divide. Yet, against all odds, Justin survives. His blood type is one in 2.5 million: the Bombay Blood Group.
The only person who can donate such blood is Anaya Patel, a community art facilitator working in Brooklyn. Her blood, stored in the Bellevue Hospital Blood Bank, is used for an emergency transfusion that saves the candidate’s life.

His targets: new residential districts where agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) live—symbols of “the order America built.”

Yet each time his mother’s hand brushed his forehead, that place became, undeniably, home.
Amir’s gaze returned to the New York children swaying on the swings.

“Rafi,” he murmured, barely louder than the wind,
“maybe… we don’t have to go on.”
Rafi didn’t look away.

ラフィは静かにバッグを開き、タブレットを取り出した。指先に、微かに震えはあったが、心を鎮めるように深く息を吸い、mellow-echo.netの最下部にあるB“♭（フラット）”に、ミュートリーダーのカメラをかざした。暗い画面にディープレイヤーQRコードが浮かび上がると、指先はためらうことなく、“C4-ID:Vanta+Core/Ready.”の文字に沿って滑った。その手の動きは、橋下に残った仲間たちの緊張を微かに揺らし、乾いた鉄の匂いと湿った夏の風に溶けた。
イーストリバーを挟んだ対岸の橋下から、火花が一点、また一点と立ち上り、暗がりに赤く瞬いた。小さな光は、橋下の影を揺らし、鉄梁にぶつかる音が低く響く。ラフィの視線はアミールの背に残る影を追い、仲間たちは無言で後退りし、橋下から少しずつ距離を取った。
湿気を帯びた空気がラフィの肌をまとい、夕陽の赤と鉄の冷たさが入り混じる。橋下の静寂の中、火花の閃光と小さな軋みが、ラフィの胸の奥に奇妙な律動を生んだ。遠くで蝉が一声鳴き、街のざわめきは遙か彼方に霞んでゆく。
その緊張の波に押されるように、橋下の仲間たちは息をひそめ、視線と呼吸だけで互いの存在を確かめあった。
夏の夕闇は、まるで橋を、街を、そして残された影を静かに、しかし確かに飲み込んでいった。

Candidate coatings for a new space antenna undergoing testing at ESA’s technical heart in the Netherlands.
“Protective coatings safeguard antennas against temperature extremes or other environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation,” explains antenna engineer Elena Saenz, performing the testing at ESA’s technical centre in Noordwijk.
“Working with industry, we were asked to evaluate several candidate coatings for the coming MetOp microwave imager – which sounds the atmosphere at various frequencies to gather data on rainfall, water vapour, temperature and clouds.
“The testing needs to measure the radio frequency behaviour of sample coatings across a very wide range of frequencies, from 18.7 GHz up to a maximum 191.3 GHz – checking, for instance, that they do not cause unacceptable signal losses.”
Feed horns send out radio signals to be reflected across the table to the coating and back again, to assess performance.
Two of the candidates proved most promising to coat the carbon-fibre reinforced polymer honeycomb microwave imager antenna. ESA’s antenna test facilities carry out around several of these kind of campaigns annually.
Higher frequencies were tested on the cleanroom tabletop system seen here, while testing for lower frequencies below 50 GHz was undertaken in ESA’s Compact Antenna Test Range, normally used for antenna testing but adaptable for materials testing as well.

Its been a while since I've posted anything; however, that is not an indication of non-activity! On contrary, I have been very busy both with preparing my Fareham train layout for Brickworld Chicago (in June) and finishing off some MOCs in time for my next show: Ottawa TrainExpo 2015 (Apr 24-26).
This photo shows a WIP of one of two British Rail Class 73 "electro-diesels" I am building. The electro-diesels nominally work off of 3rd rail DC for traction power; however, these locos had a diesel engine for operation off of 3rd rail territory or within unelectrified yards. This ability, along with its compatibility to operate with virtually any Southern region EMU, made this an extremely versatile locomotive. Many Class 73s are still in service today since introduction in 1962. This version illustrated here is in the so-called "large logo" British Rail blue livery--I am modelling it based on number 73 142 "Broadlands". I have an OO-gauge scale model of 73 142 made by Lima--so I guess its a bit of a nostalgic nod to one of my early model trains. I am also building a handsome Pullman livery version of this locomotive as it appeared when operated with the Orient Express trains (73 101 "Royal Alex").
I've struggled with this locomotive for quite some time, in particular the front end cab roof. Luckily Lego has introduced one of my favourite elements: the 1x2 bow slope. This element has allowed me to sculpt the roof more to my liking. The rest of the locomotive (as well as her sister 73 101 "Royal Alex" in Pullman livery) have undergone a few iterations of rebuilding. The key changes are as follows:
1) Revised cab roof
2) Revised roof panels - modular and stronger
3) Underframe details
4) New bogies
5) Steel handrails - made from recovered TLG train wheel axles and retained with TLG elastic bands.
The stickers are placeholders for now until I am happy with the final build. I'm going to have to revise the battery box covers by lowering them to make room for the "large logo" BR numerals for example.
Finally, for the sake of completeness, I confess to the following "sins":
1) Cut whip antenna elements for the front handrails and for some underframe details
2) Cut minifig horsewhips for the multiple unit jumper cables on the front
Sorry, I can't help it! Detail trumps purity sometimes--but I try not to overdo it! ;)

Today’s session focused on a compatibility test between the Nikon AF-S TC-14E III Teleconverter and the NIKKOR 500mm PF, paired with the Nikon Z8.
The test was carried out in both shaded and open light conditions, with particular attention to feather detail, contrast, and AF stability.
Conditions were challenging — temperatures slightly below average, but a sharp, face-cutting wind made it feel well below freezing.
All images were captured in natural light, under real field conditions.

A Palestinian group from Gaza hacks into North Korea’s cryptocurrency system, stealing hundreds of millions of dollars. Their true goal is not money—but to recreate the lost homeland of Gaza on American soil.
Amid the backdrop of hardline Republican immigration policies and a growing wave of xenophobia, a quiet plan begins to take shape: the gradual collapse of America from within.
During a speech at Madison Square Garden, Republican presidential candidate Justin Bradford is shot. Almost simultaneously in Los Angeles, former president Owen Reed is attacked at a rally for Democratic hopeful Ryan Bennett.
Two assassinations—mirroring one another—ignite a nation’s deepest divide. Yet, against all odds, Justin survives. His blood type is one in 2.5 million: the Bombay Blood Group.
The only person who can donate such blood is Anaya Patel, a community art facilitator working in Brooklyn. Her blood, stored in the Bellevue Hospital Blood Bank, is used for an emergency transfusion that saves the candidate’s life.
Jack Vance, an agent of the U.S. Secret Service, suspects a Gaza-based network behind the attacks. Together with Cameron Bartlett, the FBI Director of the Los Angeles Field Office, and Veronica Reeves, a senior investigator from New York, he begins to uncover a vast conspiracy.
Their investigation leads them to Rafi Gannam, a former architecture student at the Islamic University of Gaza, who has infiltrated redevelopment sites across Los Angeles and New York—embedding C4 explosives deep within beams and structural cores.
His targets: new residential districts where agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) live—symbols of “the order America built.”
Veronica urges the President to pursue dialogue to prevent further destruction, but President Grant M. Ranford refuses to listen.
Meanwhile, the recovering Justin and his Democratic rival Ryan appear on national television, calling for unity beyond political divisions.
Their words of reason, however, are drowned out when Grant takes the stage in Iowa, defiantly declaring: “We will never bow to terror.”
Among the crowd, Rafi’s operatives have already taken their positions.
As chaos erupts and the stage collapses, Amir Nasser—once Rafi’s comrade, haunted by the memory of his sister’s death in Gaza—tries desperately to halt the chain of destruction.
But Rafi’s conviction remains unshaken.
Under the twilight beneath the Williamsburg Bridge, amid the city’s fading noise, the two men part ways.

北朝鮮の仮想通貨システムをハッキングし、数億ドルを奪取したガザ出身のパレスチナ人グループが、アメリカ合衆国へ密かに潜入する。
彼らの目的は、失われた祖国ガザを、アメリカの地に「復元」することだった。
共和党による強硬な移民政策と、国内にくすぶる排外感情を利用し、アメリカ社会を内側から崩壊させる計画が静かに進行していく。
共和党大統領候補ジャスティン・ブラッドフォードがマディソン・スクエア・ガーデンで演説中に狙撃され、ほぼ同時刻、ロサンゼルスでは前大統領オーウェン・リードもまた、民主党候補ライアン・ベネットの集会で撃たれる。
国家を二分する双方向の暗殺。だが、ジャスティンは奇跡的に生還する。
彼の血液型は、世界でわずか250万人に一人といわれる「ボンベイブラッド」。
その希少な血を提供できたのは、ブルックリンで活動するコミュニティアート・ファシリテーター、アナヤ・パテルだった。
彼女の血液はベルビュー病院の血液バンクに保存されており、緊急輸血によって、候補者の命はかろうじて繋がれた。
シークレットサービスのジャック・バンスは、テロの背後にガザ出身の組織が関与していることを察知し、FBIロサンゼルス支局長官キャメロン・バートレット、ニューヨーク支局の特別捜査官ヴェロニカ・リーブスと共に捜査を進める。
やがて彼らは、イスラム大学で建築学を学んだラフィ・ガンナムが、ロサンゼルスやニューヨークの再開発現場に潜入し、梁や構造体の中枢にC4爆薬を仕込んでいた事実に辿り着く。
標的は、ICE（移民・関税執行局）やERO（執行・送還作戦部門）の職員が暮らす新興住宅街——すなわち、「アメリカが築いた秩序」そのものだった。
ヴェロニカは、これ以上の破壊を防ぐため、大統領への対話を進言するが、現職のグラント・ランフォード大統領は耳を貸さない。
一方、命を取り留めたジャスティンと民主党候補ライアンは、テレビを通じて国民に訴えかけ、分断を乗り越えようとする。

The one thing I like about Studio 2.0 is the ability to directly open an LXF file. There are no compatibility problems yet, and it’s very easy to set up the model for rendering. This MiG-21UM Mongol-B opened perfectly with only a few minor adjustments necessary (the nose antennae loaded backwards for some reason and I changed the nose cone using some unique pieces found in Studio 2.0). I’ve yet to build a model from scratch in Studio 2.0 and I’ll work on that in the near future. For now, I’ll continue to work in LDD and upload the model into Studio 2.0 for the final touches and renderings. Stay tuned; I’ll revamp some of my older models as I get more familiar with the program and its capabilities. Any comments, suggestions, and advice are greatly appreciated.
