One from around 400 photos that I took during October and into November, almost all of them taken around Buckstones above Marsden. They were all incidental to the real reason that I was up there which was waiting for hunting birds of one sort or another to appear. The Short Eared Owls, Kestrels and occasionally Buzzards all hunt on the surrounding moors. The landscapes were often, although not always, taken in the very last of the light during and after sunset, the shadows have vanished and everything is lit with a soft pink light. Even in low light conditions I don't use a tripod and usually handhold or use the window of my pickup to steady myself. The 400 shots cover an amazing variety of cloud conditions which of course change continuously as the clouds pass across my field of view. I often move several times between three points half a mile apart. I didn't realise until after I'd exported these photos from Lightroom that there is a problem with too much contrast and saturation. The photos look fine in Lightroom, some of the images were very contrasty and some were very colourful sunsets but there is obviously a problem. It is possibly a hardware and software compatibility problem relating to graphics cards and 4k displays. There are other people with the same problem, and, as usual, lots of nonsense being written on forums but no solutions that I can see. I can edit the same raw files on my work PC and the images are fine, the problem is that I have 400 in this batch and many more besides.

Hera systems engineer Pedro Escorial prepares the Juventas CubeSat for electromagnetic compatibility testing alongside its Hera mothership in ESA’s Maxwell chamber, part of Hera’s pre-flight test campaign at ESA’s Test Centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.
Hera is ESA’s first mission for planetary defence. Due for launch in October 2024, Hera will fly to the Didymos binary asteroid system in deep space to perform a close-up survey of the Dimorphos moonlet in orbit around the primary body. The Great-Pyramid-sized Dimorphos is already historic, as the first Solar System object to have its orbit changed by human activity, by the 2022 impact of NASA’s DART mission.
Hera is intended to gather crucial missing data about Dimorphos for scientists, to turn DART’s grand-scale experiment into a well-understood and potentially repeatable planetary defence technique. To increase its yield of data, Hera carries with it ESA’s first deep space CubeSats, carrying additional instruments and planned to fly closer to the asteroid’s surface than the main spacecraft, before eventually landing.

WARNING for Mac OSX/Aperture users -- DON'T update to 10.5.5/2.1.1 Raw Compatibility 2.2 Update. It broke RAW white balance handling. And it is most unstable, I had to delete my preferences and recreate them before it stopped crashing.
this is how aperture 2.1.1 and Mac OS 10.5.5 have started to treat preset white balances with RAW photos straight out of camera (sooc) -- it resets the white balance to some bizarre setting, not even close to what i wanted. see how lightroom handles the same picture sooc.
The purplesque is what it *would* look like had i not set the white balance -- because of the IR filter. It is RED, but that's why I set the white balance the way i do, so that I don't have to FUTZ with it when i get done shooting.
*** UPDATE *** i talked with apple support, and they are now aware of this white balance problem and are addressing it ASAP. it was an issue with the RAW Compatibility 2.2 update. Going back to 2.1 did fix the problem...they say don't update until it is fixed though.
(It does not address or fix the saturation problem...which they also say they're working on...29 days and counting)
