The Weeping Willows are the first in a line of trees from Organica that will both offer Animesh support as well as built-in compatibility with the Organica Seasonal Control Module, which will allow for mass foliage change of Organica: Winds of Change-compatible products both region-wide as well as parcel-specific.
The Willows are set to animate and rustle in relation to Second Life region wind. They change texture (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Dead) on command from the included SCM, but you can also set foliage by individual tree as well if you wish.

At the end of the Colonnaded Street and next to the Qasa Al-Bint are the ruins of a large Greco-Roman gate. Called Hadrian’s Gate by some and the Temenos Gate by others, this ceremonial entrance to the sacred section (temenos) of town once had three impressive arches. Notice the square ornamental reliefs. They are Nabataean motifs. This suggests a period of architectural if not political compatibility between the two empires during the early 2nd century annexation of Petra to the Romans.

To facilitate exposure metering through the lens (TTL) with the aperture fully open (open aperture metering), an aperture value set on the lens must be transmitted to the exposure metering system in the camera body. Different systems have been developed by different manufacturers for this purpose. To this end, Nikon used a cam with a slot located on the aperture ring, which was engaged by a pin located on the camera body. When the aperture ring was rotated, the pin was moved by the cam and brought into a position corresponding to the set aperture value. The cam on the lens was long a characteristic feature of Nikkor lenses and was retained for backward compatibility after the AI system replaced the cam-and-pin arrangement in 1977.

57310 passes Clapham Junction with an Electrostar No. 377146 while working 5Z69, a circular from Selhurst to Selhurst via Brighton Lovers Walk.
The Dellner couplings fitted to the class 57/3s were not designed to work with Electrostar EMUs and so were adjusted on at least this locomotive to work with Electrostars. This was a test run to check compatibility between the class 57s and the class 377s.
To my knowledge, no further tests were performed after this date. In any event, Network Rail stopped leasing their six class 57s in July 2014.

I was planning a series of sun stars and other variations on winter light on the prairie... but those can wait. Two days ago, I spent an extended time watching a Badger and Coyote sharing space in a prairie dog town. As usual, this odd couple put on a fascinating display of unlikely... er... if not quite compatibility, then at least tolerance.
The American Badger and Coyote have a long history of association. I have observed them hunting together on several occasions. It seemed to be opportunism more than co-operation, and it seemed to work for both of them.
Here, Badger has been very active, excavating a prairie dog burrow. Black-tailed Prairie Dogs create mounds at their burrow entrances, but nothing this large. Coyote has approached and is very close. Badger doesn't seem too pleased.
Prairie dog burrows run deep. Badgers are consummate diggers and can get to them, whereas Coyote cannot. But the little rodents have escape tunnels - back door exits to use in an emergency - and perhaps Coyote has learned to hover in the vicinity and snap up any that try to flee. However, such a close encounter suggests that something else may be going on, and I'm not sure what that is. Mere curiosity? I don't know.
What will happen next? Stay tuned...

Western grebes are very common in the lakes around northern California. Summer months are their mating season. I’ve always found their mating displays and courtship rituals to be quite interesting. Pairs do a little “weed ceremony” where they dive together, come up with weeds and sort of wave them at each other.
